Franklin, North Carolina
Quaint, historical mountain home; two bedroom, two bath, with additional loft sleeping area. Picture perfect views, with a front porch ideal for watching the mountain sunset or relaxing hill top sitting area with firepit.
You won't run out of things to do here, as this area is the ideal vacation spot for couples, families or anyone who loves the outdoors. We boast of some of the best hiking trails and fishing spots in western NC as well as breathtaking waterfalls. Minutes away from multiple access points to the famous Appalachian Trail, and a favorite spot for many hikers to stop and refuel in their journey. The town of Franklin itself, offers unique shopping, dining, and breweries along with parks and The Fun Factory, a favorite for children. We are just minutes from local businesses that offer tubing and canoeing in the Little Tennessee River and trout fishing perfect for young families. There are multiple options for gem mining nearby, as this is the Gem Capital of the World.
If you want something larger scale, the NOC is 30 minutes away, home of world class rapids, ziplining, hiking, biking, climbing, etc. Taking a short, scenic drive will lead you to The Great Smoky Mountain railroad for family fun, or even Harrah's Cherokee Casino.
Just what everyone needs to relax and look at the valley from the front porch with a cup of coffee. We saw deer, turkeys, goats, cows every day. The stars at night were incredible. Location is centrally located to many beautiful drives thru the mountains and Franklin. Love this farm home ? and location. The host was very nice and responds quickly.
Property was just as described. Views were amazing. Wish we had more time to relax and soak up the scenery. Hope to get back for a longer stay.
We loved our stay at the Queenshouse! The owner was so pleasant to work with and message with. We were easily able to extend our nights because we were enjoying the mountains so much and we were at home here at the cottage. Linens, towels, and beds are so nicely new and updated. The space may be small, but laid out well and provides what you need. We enjoyed the view over the pasture and the goat on the property was a lovely surprise. I highly recommend stopping by the Historic Rickman store that is right around the corner. They are only open on Saturdays but we're so delighted to have our family there and eagar to share the history of the place. And we enjoyed listening to everyone playing music together in the room.
What a wonderful week we had the Queen House. This was our 2nd stay and it did not disappoint. We loved the addition of the fire pit, where we roasted marshmallows and watched the sun set. We started each day off visiting with the sweet goat. This house is in such a great location, with so much to do. We visited near by towns, checked out some waterfalls and went gem mine digging. We can’t wait to come back again!
Near what you need and far from the crowd Very peaceful and beautiful to have days of rest
Absolutely loved our stay in the Queen House! The home is so inviting and comfortable. Literally everything you need is on hand. Owners are very quick to respond to any questions and have truly made their home a home away home for others to enjoy! Towels and linens were great quality and so was the silverware and dishware! Typically things over looked in most vacation homes. We will definitely be back to visit here! Also they have the most adorable goat that my kids named “Bob”! Just over all a great place, located close enough to everything but far enough away that it’s peaceful and serene.
We had three adults and everything was good. Keep your eyes on the road when driving home after dark.
This is our second time staying at this home and we love everything about it. The owner is wonderful, friendly, and super helpful if you need anything. It literally has everything there and the kitchen is fully stocked. This adorable farmhouse is close to many fishing spots and attractions. We really enjoyed our stay as well as time playing with the goat. *She's adorable*.Thanks again Diedre. We will most definitely be back again.
Never having been to NC and completely unfamiliar with the area, I was nervous about this place being too rural and far from town where we were headed for a wedding. This is a very cute and quiet historical farm house located not far from town and nicely nestled in the country with a perfect unobstructed view of the mountains. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch in the mornings and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The house was very clean and had all the right amenities including central heat and plenty of blankets for the chilly nights and mornings. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen well stocked and organized. There is a historic general store (now an antique shop) down the street that locals play music at on Saturdays. Also, there is a gas station a half mile away with basic groceries in case you want a snack without driving back into town. If I’m ever back in the area, I will definitely stay there again. It was easy to find, nice paved road, and check-in was a breeze. The owner was very responsive and helpful.
This property has everything needed for a comfortable get-away. So nice to have open spaces, and even a friendly goat.
This is an immaculate property in a gorgeous Valley. We loved our stay!
We only needed a place to lay our heads, but ended up finding gems all over the house. Our son thoroughly enjoyed the pink ball and our daughter loved the games. We appreciate the extra steps to make our stay better.
My husband and I spent three nights in this beautiful and comfy house. We enjoyed watching the cows with there calfs with the beautiful mountains behind them every morning and evening. We also enjoyed our time visiting the goat and laughing at its antics. The house is very clean and we loved the decor. It was close to town, waterfalls, gem mines and antique stores. We also visited the towns of Sylva, Dillsboro and Bryson city. They are cute looking hallmark towns with cute shops and breweries. We highly recommend Haywood Barbecue and Root & Barrell to eat, they were both awesome. We would highly recommend this rental and look foward to going back again. Thank you Deidre for allowing us to stay at your beautiful Queens house.
We were impressed that you can still get a place to stay without worrying that dogs have been in the place. Clean and well stocked. Quiet and peaceful. Decor was nice.
My husband and I took my 78 yr. old mother on vacation. She has dementia and we wanted to do something special with her before she was no longer able! We ALL loved the property; it was perfect. The house is super cute and comfortable. Back deck and firepit areas are beautiful. The front porch, with pastureland and mountain views, was our favorite - drank coffee there each morning. So peaceful! The neighborhood has several gem mines - went to Sheffield Mine for 4 hours! Mom had a blast. Thanks so much. We already want to come back…
This property is beautiful and now our favorite! The location is perfect to access several towns. The “country” feel promotes relaxation. We loved the decor, the fire pit, and the view. It had everything we needed for the BEST vacation. Very clean, well stocked, and the owner is helpful and attentive to any needs!
This house was lovely. It was clean and updated. Perfect location. I would stay here again.
We have never stayed in the Franklin area. The experience exceeded expectations.
The property was just as it was described. We enjoyed this little place and it was perfectly located for our trip!
