We loved our stay here! The only issue was there were mice / droppings everywhere, after staying for only 2 nights (house was spotless upon arrival). The laundry / storage room smelled HORRIBLY like mice and was so unpleasant to have to go in there. I hope an exterminator can be arranged to help, because otherwise this house is great!
Had a wonderful two weeks at this lovely home on Kezar Lake. The house had everything you could possibly need in a rental. The homeowner and caretaker were incredibly accommodating and made our vacation wonderful!
We LOVED, LOVED this house. We rent cottages several times a year and we voted yours: 1. Best porch 2. Best equipped 3. Most comfortable 4. Best lake 5. Best lighting for reading 6. Best driveway It is really a treasure. We hope we can come back.
This home was extremely well stocked with everything you could need for a vacation, kitchen utensils, linens, outdoor games, books, puzzles, water toys, etc. You simply need to bring clothing and food. While we loved the view and the solitude, there were a few pitfalls, the biggest being the fact that the property was not swimmable. There was geese poop everywhere and the lake bottom was incredibly mucky. There is a lovely town beach, however, if you want to take a short drive. We also had some issues with wi-fi calling, as our carrier (Verizon) requires that you change your E911 address in order to utilize the service. They do have a house phone that they were willing to let us use and the wi-fi worked fine on our computer. I would highly recommend this home if you are looking for a quiet relaxing space with incredible views, renting a boat (very nice dock) and don't mind driving to swim.
We visited in October at peak foliage for some hiking in nearby Evans Notch and to re-acquaint ourselves with Lovell. Perfect setting. The owner (Marti) contacted us directly before arrival with directions and went over to turn on the outside light when she heard we would arrive after dark. The living area, 2 bedrooms and the deck + screened porch all look right over the sandy beach and up the lake. We had fires at night in the central fireplace and kayaked on the lake. You can tell by the furniture and photos on the walls that this home has a long family history and is loved and well cared for. Checked all the boxes for us!
This is a wonderful place with every amenity and access to beauty imaginable. The owners clearly love their home and graciously share their warm hospitality. However. The directions sent us on a needless, wild goose chase costing a total of three wasted travel hours. I would love to be contacted to discuss. There was no reason for this. The house is very easy to find, but the map and directions are completely wrong and the appointed person to help with directions was unable to do this. We learned that this problem is a recurring one, frustrating other guests, and it should have been fixed when it was first discovered. My guests arrived two hours after they had planned - sent wrong ways and then waiting for guidance while the caretaker tried to imagine how to redirect them, and I had a similar experience, losing one hour of vacation myself. My guests delayed dinner from a targeted seven pm to delayed nine and were understandably unhappy to wait so long. This was frustrating and completely needless for all of us and I was very irritated as a result. Had had a bad day and unleashed my anger when finally put in touch with the lovely owner who must have found me very unpleasant. Also, you list a price that is completly misleading. By the time all fees are added, the advertised price is nearly doubled. Not fair advertising. Both issues reflect very poorly on this rental service and made our trip a less happy one than it could have been.
This yard had it all! Great views, a large kid friendly beach, yard games and a dock for our boat! The screened in porch was a huge bonus on the rainy days for a puzzle and a book. They had laundry and everything you could need to cook and clean up which is great. There were a few downsides- 1. There is no cell service so keeping in touch with our boaters was impossible 2. The house had some moldy/musty smell to it that made many of our allergies act up 3. I could feel the springs in the beds they were so uncomfortable. Need to be replaced for sure 4. Wish there was a fire pit
