My husband and I had a wonderful time in the Elkin area visiting wineries. The house was a perfect size for us, very clean, and the owners were very responsive. Look forward to returning for another stay.

We had the BEST little wine weekend at this charming farmhouse. This was our second stay and somehow it was even better than the first. The house is so cozy, beautifully appointed, super comfortable and perfect for a relaxing girls getaway for two. Our favorite parts were the hot tub, watching the cows in the pasture, and the total peaceful quiet of the countryside. It was exactly the reset we needed.Michelle is such a wonderful host — warm, responsive, and incredibly accommodating. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great experience.We can’t wait to come back again. This place is a gem — highly recommend.

What a lovely home, perfect for two best friends to meet and catch up! From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. The host left us a basket of goodies with a delicious bottle of wine. Cute message board awaited us with our names on it. The large chalkboard in the kitchen with all the info we would need was great. Everything was so nice and clean, kitchen has all you need, especially the Keurig duo coffee maker! The bedrooms are spacious, a well stocked bathroom, washer/dryer with supplies, chargers everywhere, and great bluetooth speakers available to use. The outside was so cute with a variety of trees, darling out building, seating everywhere and a nice hot tub. The host lives on the property, but off in the distance. Close enough to be reached if needed, but far enough away for your privacy. Available quickly by text with any questions you may have.Wonderful stay, definitely recommended!

This was my second stay at this lovely, well-kept home. The owners are extremely accommodating and go that extra step to ensure everything is perfect! The house is extremely clean and has everything one needs to enjoy a relaxing getaway. The kitchen is stocked with essentials if cooking is on the agenda. The bedrooms are accommodating, and the beds are comfortable. There’s a fire pit and a hot tub. I will definitely stay here again!!

Cozy and comfortable!!! Excellent communication with the owners. It was the perfect location, although be aware that it is a long gravel driveway and a true farm house so those low lying cars and/or allergies will need to take extra care. However, it was worth the extra Claritin to me as having coffee on the porch was so peaceful!

We absolutely loved our girls trip stay at this property. The ambiance of being out in the country surrounded by beautiful animals and surroundings was incredibly peaceful. Shelton Vineyards is right up the road and we also did a day on the Elkin Vine Line. They will pickup and drop off from this location for a small fee. We had a lovely time with all the comforts of home. Will definitely be returning!

We stayed a few short nights as we were juggling different efforts. The Cottage was the perfect location. Upon a late arrival we were beyond pleased with the condition and hospitality of the hoist. Beds and bedding is comfy, kitchen is well appointed. Living room is relaxing and parking is convenient. Spent a few mins each morning enjoying coffee on the front porch with the cows across the way and the beautiful scenery of the distant mountains.

My husband, his mom and i stayed at Shady Oaks for the weekend and we really enjoyed the place.Very well decorated and clean. Old farmhouse feeling with all the modern necessitieswe will come back.Michelle, the host was great. She answered all of our questions and welcomed us very nicely

It was absolutely wonderful! Everything you could think of was at your fingertips. The only reason for my one 4 was that it was away from everything. This can absolutely be a major plus, but we needed to get out for food which we did not bring for our stay so we needed to know more about restaurants etc accessibilities. It was all wonderful!!!!!
