We had a work crew on-site to do some team building for the week. This was a perfect spot for us to break free from the daily grind. We were all fortunate enough to find cellular service at the front of the lower deck and would all meet there late at night or early in the am to catch up, but then after that our cellphones went away and we only used them for pictures!
This property is everything advertised and more. We traveled for our church homecoming and this property offered everything we needed for a large family gathering.
This is the second times we've rented this house with some friends. The owner has always been nice and is quick to respond to messages. The house fits our needs perfectly and has something for everyone. There's plenty of recreation options, a beautiful screened in porch with rocking chairs and places to eat. The kitchen is well supplied. The beds are very comfortable. With two seating areas we were able to gather with all of us or in groups. The views are beautiful and both times we've met some really nice neighbors. It would be nice to have some way to communicate with the outside world. Even just a landline for use in an emergency. That is the only thing I'd change. I do like being disconnected, but have concerns about what we'd do in an emergency or how we'd know if dangerous weather was on the way. Overall, this has been a perfect place for our small Passover gatherings. I would consider renting it for our family to get away for a while too.
Pros-this is a very secluded property surrounded by beautiful trees and nature. If you are looking for a true getaway in a charming area, this is it. The locals in Pulaski were very welcoming and friendly. Jerry the property owner was very easy to get a hold of and very accommodating. The property was clean and kitchen well stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils, pots, pans, trash bags, cleaning products and small appliances. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bath towels and blankets were well stocked and washer/dryer works great. The bedrooms are all good sized with plenty of dressers and storage space, bathrooms decent. The heat/ac and hot water work perfectly, water pressure good. The boys absolutely enjoyed the shooting range although there are hundreds of old shells all over the ground and wood is old/crumbling from being shot so many times. There a plentiful amount of firewood and we really enjoyed sitting by the fire at night. Would have liked for the porch light on the storage house to work. The views are incredible from the lower deck and we enjoyed playing ping pong. Lots of tables and chairs outdoors. Cons-if you are looking for an updated, modern space, this isn’t it. It was clean enough but not like you would expect for $400/night stay. Very outdated decor/furniture, small living area and not much counter space in kitchen to prepare meals. Several vhs tapes to choose from, 1 dvd (crockadile Dundee) so bring a few of your own for winding down at night especially if you are bringing little ones because there is no cell service inside of the house unless T mobile. The “lake” is a small pond that water level was very low. Hammock area was very overgrown and lights did not work. Mini golf area very overgrown and 1 of the clubs broken. Shuffle board area on concrete and paint worn off. Trails overgrown and we never did see any signs or flags so we didn’t venture Amy further than shooting range and open field area for fear of getting lost. Bean bags for cornhole have holes and worn so bring your own. Stink bugs everywhere. Overall this is a beautiful home with beautiful views and definitely a place to unwind and relax. Loved having coffee on the lower deck every morning and although we probably won’t return, we made a lot of great memories and glad we stayed.
Beautiful views. Nice porches. The online overview could benefit from a few more pictures of bedrooms and bathrooms and loft which were all nice. Agree with other reviews that some game areas could be updated. We would have loved a bin for recycling. We had to find a place in Pulaski to recycle our water bottles. Would enjoy fewer wasps. Couldn't find the stables. Very livable house for a family of 10. Overall very nicely arranged for sharing space. Thanks for a relaxing stay. Do be sure if you leave a note regarding the location of something (like the garbage bags) that it is actually in that place. Thanks! My granddaughter says be sure to tell people that the address is on a rock.
This was just what we needed. This hidden gem (literally we drove by the driveway twice! haha!) is a great place for family to gather and enjoy the outdoors! We fished (caught many!), kayaked, four wheeled, shot guns, played volleyball, played ping pong, sat around the bonfire and more! At one point I was sitting in the driveway near the lake, just looking around, seeing my parents, kids and grandbabies enjoying being off grid all together and I teared up. It was so wonderful! Plenty of room in the house. Yeah a dishwasher would be nice but it’s vacation- use paper supplies! Beds were comfortable, LOVE the deck areas. Not a great cell phone signal so print your maps ahead of time to local sights and emergency needs. Very close to town that has Walmart, restaurants, and cell signal. Opposite direction we found a cool gas station and a dollar general (ice bags!!) We drove a little farther one day to explore the Amish Community and found some great items. But seriously.. you really don’t need to leave the house location to find stuff to do. AND there was so much wildlife! Our granddaughter was amazed by all the animals. Plus the four wheel trails was a wildlife route! We are very happy with our stay. Owner was quick to make suggestions and answer questions. He was great!
We enjoyed many things about the property despite the need for some cleaning, updating, and repair. We enjoyed the 125 acres of privacy, the shooting range, hiking, ping pong, and the local sites. The “lake” is a pond that is too murky to swim in and there is more than one snapping turtle in it. Playing miniature golf with moss growing on the turf was funny and added to the challenge. Despite the cracks in the shuffleboard surface we had a good time playing. The kitchen is not well stocked. (No cutting board, measuring spoons, meat thermometer, ice cream scoop, the tray in the toaster oven was missing, there was only one hot pad, foil, or plastic wrap. The skillets have seen better days and the only food items provided to help with meal prep was salt and pepper. (We are used to there being oil, sugar, and a few seasonings.) Read “Spring Break with the Family” March 2022 it is an accurate description.
This cabin was tucked away with rolling hills, a pond, creeks, and tons of nature! The scenery was breathtaking. My children and nieces had the absolute best time on this property. Our entire family was able to relax and enjoy each other and unplug from daily technology. We plan to return hopefully this winter and definitely next spring.
Positives. Process was simple. Jerry, the host, was quick to reply w/ any questions. There was 4 of us and our 9yr old pup; my Wife, our twin 15yr old boys, and me. large property. The site was quiet, secluded, and huge with a comfortable home on a hill top with a view of the neighboring farms, adjacent hills, a sprawling open field, and a pond in the foreground. It was mostly cool and we spent several hours at the fire pit adjacent to the pond. There was a ton of firewood and the view of the stars was pretty spectacular. House interior was clean, beds were plentiful and comfortable enough. plenty of linens and hot water. Heat worked well. There was cable TV (limited) and T Mobile had some service. We found a local friendly butcher shop, a grocery, an Amish cheese/bakery/deli shop and the super Walmart for supplies and all very close. We relaxed, played guitars, walked the property, explored the trails, and enjoyed using the shooting range. Boys practiced driving my truck on the long driveway for hrs! The downside. At $400/day, the property although very pretty needs to be maintained. It was probably fantastic 20 years ago. A lot of what is listed as amenities wasn’t useable. The home is very dated, interior and exterior. It’s dark, w/ limited lighting in home. Kitchen functioned basically but there was, no lighting, no DW, no counter space, limited pots/ pans, and few accs. Water pressure/ volume in general, especially at showers, is way too restricted or low. TV and internet these days is easy and relatively cheap but cell service, internet and TV were very limited. To be fair, some of this was known prior. The deck was nice but could use a pressure wash. The front porch /exterior driveway parking area especially needs working lights. The outdoor amenities were mostly were unusable! The trails we walked haven’t been used much in years and we could barely decipher them in places w/dead trees and brush and so overgrown we couldn’t pass so no way would ATVS would have worked. Used the shooting range and we shot a lot! But it had been years since the structure had attention and the wood railroad timbers used as a backstop were replaced. They were shot up so much that they were crumbling. The pond had little to no life. We fish all the time! There’s nothing to catch. Pond area has electric but no lights or power worked. The basketball hoop was dangling. The mini golf , shuffle board wasn’t usable because the turf/carpet/concrete issues
Beautiful setting, great place for families, and good locatio.
