We provide everything you need for a relaxing stay ... a comfy queen-sized bed, comfortable couches, a large screen TV, a work area, a bathroom, and a fully stocked kitchen, including a Nespresso machine to get you going in the morning!
The Space:
This studio cottage has a heated wood floor, a small bathroom with shower and sink, and a kitchenette with a full-sized fridge, a stove, an oven, a microwave, a sink, and kitchenware. It also has a queen-sized bed, a couch, a work area, and a TV.
Guest Access:
You will have the entire cottage to yourself.
The Neighborhood:
This home is in the "Community Center" neighborhood, named for the nearby Lucy Stern Community Center. It's near the delightful Rinconada Park, one of many that Palo Alto has to offer.
Downtown Palo Alto's University Ave, with its amazing restaurants and boutique shops, is a mere 8 blocks away, an easy walk or bike ride.
If you love the great outdoors, there are incredible hikes within 20 minutes driving, and the Santa Cruz mountains, with California's famous and magnificent Redwood trees, are only 30 minutes away.
Getting Around:
Nearby Middlefield Road is an easy thoroughfare, Alma/Central Expressway is close as well, and El Camino Real is just a bit further. Getting to the 101 is easy on Embarcadero Road. Depending on traffic, 101 North will get you to SFO in 20-45 minutes, and San Francisco itself in 45 to 75 minutes. In the other direction, 30-45 minutes, is San Jose Airport.
Note that though this is Silicon Valley, an area known for green innovation, and the home of Tesla and self-driving cars and many solar companies, it was built in the 1950's era for cars, not for public transit. You definitely need a car to get around. That said, there's a Caltrain station at the other end of University Ave, from which a "baby bullet" train can get you to San Francisco in 30 minutes.
Other Things to Note:
We ask that you park on the street. There are rarely any issues finding space to park.
Interaction with Guests:
The property manager lives just 10 minutes away in case there are any issues. The homeowners or other guests are usually in the main home.
Perfect for a business trip. The hosts were incredibly kind and the place was clean and well stocked. The patio seating was a lovely surprise too!
