Other things to note
Palm Lake Cottage is dog heaven! Being "dog people" ourselves, we fully understand the challenge of traveling with pets.... and the challenge of leaving them with a boarder. PLC is very pet-friendly. The backyard is completely enclosed with a secure, 4'+ chain-link fence. There is also a covered, 6' tall chain-link kennel with a concrete floor in the backyard. Your pets are also welcome indoors, though not on the beds or furniture. Elevated dog bed provided. Palm Lake offers excellent swimming... for both man & beast, plus lots of hiking trails throughout the property. We recommend pets stay on a leash when not in a secure area, lest they run off chasing one of the many deer or our free-range chickens. Bring your furry friends! They'll love Palm Lake Farm! However, if your pets are unruly or aggressive toward other dogs/people/animals, please leave them at home or keep them in the fenced area.
Cleaning Policy: The Cottage is our guest house. We strive to provide a pristine environment for our friends, family and guests. Our cleaning crew is very conscientious and works hard to make your stay enjoyable. We allocate 4-hours to completely clean and refresh the Cottage. We only charge $100 for this service. This includes: whole house vacuuming, dusting, mopping, wash/dry all used bedding and towels, clean, sanitize, and restock the bathrooms and kitchen. Normally, a complete turn can be completed by two personnel in just under 4-hours. However, if you and/or your pets leave the Cottage in a state which requires additional cleaning to restore the Cottage to its original default state, you will be charged for the additional time required at the rate of $50 per hour, with a $100 minimum. If pet hair is found on the furniture or bedding, considerable time is required to wash/dry/rewash/dry to achieve the required results. If the floors or baths are excessively dirty and require more than one pass, you will be charged appropriately, with a $100 minimum. If bedding, towels, furniture, floors or walls are stained beyond normal cleaning, you will be charged for additional cleaning, replacement or repairs. Vacuums and cleaning supplies are provided in the hall closet and laundry room, if required.
We offer a 10% discount for our return guests who take good care of the Cottage and leave it nice.
Everything was just perfect. Host was available and very nice. We will book again this summer!
Clean, everything we needed.
Property is beautiful and peaceful. Perfect place.
Property was absolutely beautiful. We had a great time exploring around the area along with a couple of days relaxing at the house. Loved seeing all of the deer that came out to feed. One night i know we counted at least 12 deer. Definitely hope to return.
We loved the cottage and the beautiful farm! What a beautiful space to relax and fish. The cottage had everything you could possibly need and it was spacious. We’ll be back!
We stayed at the property for a family member’s wedding held at Toccoa Falls. This property was a perfect distance from all events for the wedding. It was cute and clean as a pin!
Palm Lake Cottage was just what we needed for a peaceful relaxing weekend away. The cottage was well stocked with the essentials and lots of little extras, too. The beds were comfy and we slept very well. Very quiet and dark, great for stargazing. The men enjoyed the fishing at the private lake in the property most of all. The fish were hitting the hook practically before the bobber touched the water. We didn't swim or kayak, but there were paddle boards, kayaks, and a floating dock if that's your thing. A really restful country setting, but not a far drive from lots of attractions. Heading about 1/2 an hour in different directions will take you to Helen, GA, Rabun GA, Clayton GA, Taccoa Falls or Tallulah Falls, all of which are worth a visit. In Clarkesville, the Miles Through Time car museum and thrift/ antique store are well worth an afternoon of your time. Cliff was a wonderful host. He gave us some yummy breakfast and lunch spot suggestions, was always available if we needed anything, but was never intrusive on our time or space. And Sophie the Golden was a beautiful delight. The cottage is very, very dog friendly. We didn't bring ours, but there is a fenced yard, a large outdoor kennel, food and water bowls inside, treats, and a dog bed all available if your fury family members travel with you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Palm Lake Cottage if you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay.
Great
We really enjoyed our stay at Pine Lake Cottage! The cottage was quaint and lovely and the property was just as described. My daughter and I loved walking with our dog around the property, and fishing at the lake. A great place to get away from it all and relax!
The Host Cliff was fantastic. The home was clean and well stocked with everything you need. The pond and hiking trail were great! Nearby barbeque Hawg Wild restaurant had good barbecue. We will be back!
Perfect location for some paddling on a lake, short drives to many hikes, and great towns. Our family enjoyed the clean and perfect sized cabin!
The cottage was quiet and conveniently located to Helen and Toccoa. We had a good time fishing at the on site pond.
The property and lake were beautiful and the owners very friendly and amenable. We love that area and will go back again.
My sister and I had a wonderful stay in this quaint older cottage on a lovely mountain farm. The home has been well maintained while keeping it's comfortable, casual air. It was especially nice to be able to have our two large dogs with us, and the facilities to keep them safe and comfortable all available, even down to a large size dog bed. It was a very private setting though the hosts' home was just over the pasture. Nice front sitting porch added to the charm. There is a lot of traffic on the road out front though you won't hear anything but the birds as you walk through the woods to the spring fed pond. We had a bit of a misunderstanding over a chair that we got a spot on but it eventually got resolved. All in Ally, the area has a lot to offer and this was a good home base from which to operate.
Overall, we had a great time! The house is perfect for 3 people. The location is fantastic for north GA hiking! The house is pet friendly, but animals are not allowed on the furniture or in the beds, I can’t remember if this is in the property description. But Cliff send an email after you book with all the info you need which is great! He was very responsive when I texted him! Overall, we had a great stay the only two negatives were no microwave and the front bedroom bed sinks in like it doesn’t have a box spring or slats under it. The fenced in yard is a must because you are close to a very busy road!
Wonderful property, friendly host, would highly recommend!!!
Brought our dogs and we all had a relaxing weekend at this great cottage. We were able to walk around the lake with the dogs and enjoyed the cows in the back of the house. I recommend this cottage for a lowkey weekend getaway.
Property is in a great location with respect to Taccoa falls, Helen and Clarksville. All great places to visit. It is very clean and quite accommodating. Would definitely stay at this location in the future.
Everything was wonderful! We were able to bring our dog, he enjoyed having a fence in backyard. Lots of great parks to go hiking near by.
We enjoyed this stay very much. Cows were fun to watch and were quite interested in our beagles. Wifi worked great, enough dishes and amenities for a comfortable stay. Groceries and other stores within a reasonable drive. Enjoyed the weather and snow flurries the day after Christmas! Thank you!
Loved the setting of the location. Considerate property managers.
My husband and I stayed at Palm Lake Cottage to visit with our grandchildren who were vacationing at a nearby cabin. It proved to be ideal as there were 2 dogs involved, and the fenced yard proved to be a big plus. The property is in a beautiful setting, and our 4 energetic grands enjoyed swimming and paddle boarding on the lake. The cottage feels fairly secluded but is actually conveniently located only a few miles from restaurants and grocery stores. We found the owner to be quickly responsive to any concerns. Overall, I'm glad we found Palm Lake Cottage.
We had a great weekend at the cottage. It’s rare in our fast paced world to be able to get away and enjoy nature uninterrupted! We spent the whole day Saturday fishing and enjoying g the lake and surrounding area. Cottage was clean and had what we needed. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in back yard as well! We definitely want to come back! Thanks Cliff!
