The house was comfortable and well-equipped, and Valerie was very thoughtful, helpful, and communicative. The location is absolutely amazing. The full ocean view is thrilling and access to the coastal trail is at the end of the driveway.
The location of this property is amazing. Huge windows looking out at the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Close to everything you want to see or do on the peninsula. The house is very comfortable. All the bedrooms are large and have great beds. Valerie was great!
This house was cozy, inviting, comfortable and in the best location! We couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Pacific Grove. Everything we needed and more was supplied by Valerie. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and Valerie even supplied fresh flowers in every room. It was amazing. We even got to feed San Andreas, a seagull who comes around looking for cheese and other healthy goodies. All in all, this has to be one of the best places to rent in Pacific Grove.
We were extremely comfortable in Valerie's house. The location was perfect ~ we loved being so close to the ocean ~ great for walking and watching the sunsets. Valerie was an outstanding host. We hope to return soon.
The property was great! Views from every room and charming to say nothing of stupendous ocean views! Great place, delightful host and eager to return!
Really enjoyed our view every morning. This place is right on the water
Location was great. Loved the views. The house was very pleasant and comfortable.
Valerie is the perfect hostess. She was quick with texts, very accommodating with our check in time, and a pleasure to visit with. The house was a dream with gorgeous ocean views, deer parading through the scrub brush, super snuggly beds, and a resident Heerman seagull that came for breakfast every morning. The house was equipped with everything we needed from a well stocked kitchen to an outdoor grill that we took advantage of to a washer and drier. We are already talking about coming back next summer! Thank you Valerie!
We enjoyed this 1950’s style home located within steps of Asilomar beach. The TV was difficult to use but we rarely used it since the ocean walkways are so close and the sun room is especially nice on a foggy day. We have family in the area so the home phone served our needs. Valerie has equipped the house for every need and the location besides being beautiful is convenient to anything on the peninsula.
We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Valerie's home on Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove. We never felt like tourists. The home has such a sense of place, an authentic Monterey beach cottage, built out with all the amenities. Waking each cool morning to the sight and sound of the pounding Pacific, warm mug of coffee in hand, was a treat. The beach boardwalk, for a stroll or jog, is just steps from the front door, across a yard of dunes and native plants. Check out the tidepools, collect rocks, watch the sunset. Valerie was so considerate and flexible about check-in, advising us on what to expect time-wise on our drive from the San Jose airport. Her directions are perfect, and there's a helpful map and list of attractions/restaurants to consider upon arrival. The fridge stocked with milk, butter, eggs etc. helped us feel immediately at home. Small touches like powerful binoculars at the front window, bird feeders in the back yard, and feeding instructions for the resident Heerman gull all contribute to the sense of being a local. The location is ideal for exploring the Monterey Peninsula. Because the home is so centrally based, we were able to easily day trip south as Big Sur and north to Santa Cruz and the redwoods around Felton. The Monterey waterfront is a short hop and upscale shopping in Carmel is just around the corner. An excursion on the Elkhorn Slough in Moss Landing is a great way to see marine wildlife and if you like wide, sand beaches, Marina is just up the road. The house is located along the path of the 17 mile road bike rides out of Monterey, and while it is quiet, private and remote on the beach, there's a Trader Joe's and Lucky's grocery a few minutes up the road. So, best of both worlds. We enjoyed the use of the well-stocked kitchen with coffee maker, toaster oven, range, microwave as well as the washer/dryer and iron. The beds are very comfortable with plush bedding and pillows, and the showers have plenty of hot water and great pressure. The floor plan lets guests in each bedroom spread out for privacy, or gather in the living area or sunroom. The detergents, dish soap, paper products, shampoos, soaps and other toiletries provided were appreciated! We did not have the chance to use the wood stove or grill, but both are available. We're so grateful to Valerie for sharing her family home with us and giving us an insider's glimpse of what makes Pacific Grove and Asilomar Beach outstanding.
