Pacific Grove, California
Every house has a story but few are as iconic as La Piccola Casa. Built in early 1900, La Piccola has had a diverse journey. This lovely Victorian lady spent her early years as a Pacific Grove residence before becoming La Piccola Pizzeria & Coffee Shop in 2005. After years of serving thousands of guests, La Piccola has taken on a new life. Lovingly restored by restaurateurs, Joe & Laurie Rombi, she has returned to her roots as a residence while still retaining memories of her culinary past.

The cutest and cleanest house with a great history to it, within walking distance of downtown Pacific Grove. Joe is so nice and responsive, and did everything he could to make our arrival and stay enjoyable. 10 minutes to 17 mile drive and under 15 minutes to all the golf courses there. Wonderful and well appointed property that you would love booking!
I don’t give 5 stars because I need to distinguish between “fine” and “extraordinary.” La Picolla Casa deserves 5+ stars. The house is cuter and cozier than even the photos. Joe is a hospitality genius. We were wanting for nothing. The house is so well equipped. We would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you Joe and bravo!
Lovely helpful owners, super clean, well thought out use of all the spaces. The memorabilia pictures and decorations everywhere were fun. We went to play golf and wander the town and it was perfect for us. Thank you Laura and Joe. Jean
Great place. Wonderful location. Really loved the whole experience. Thanks. We will be back.
The locations was fantastic. Had a great dining experience at the Italian restaurant next door. The house had everything anyone could need for a vacation. Joe was a great host.
I have stayed in numerous properties, and this by far is one of the most pleasant yet. The location was perfect for my disabled brother, who could easily walk all of Lighthouse Ave. We could walk to numerous restaurants, grocery and a great bakery. Only a few blocks from Lover's Point and enjoyed beautiful walk along the ocean. House was spotless, and spacious for our group of three. No detail has been overlooked. Linens upper quality as you would experience in high end hotel. Host very responsive and friendly. Met us in person to tour the house (so unusual these days), so we would know where light switches, etc. were located. Hope to visit again!
We stayed at Joe’s place while I was running the Big Sur Marathon. Communication with Joe was very simple and easy. The cottage is very clean and Joe has really thought of everything to make your stay great! The location is top notch! I love how he had throw blankets to use as we used them outside on the porch to stay warm while enjoying wine outside. We would definitely return here again the next time we are on the peninsula! Thanks Joe!!
Joe was super hospitable and welcoming. The house was well appointed and close to everthing in Pacific Grove. Will definately stay here again when back in PG!
The house is great! A house full of history. It’s in a great location, close the ocean, restaurants, and shops. The owner is very helpful and super friendly.
Now that we''ve stayed at Joe Rombi's charming, sumptuously stocked and spectacularly located Pacific Grove cottage, no other place on the Monterey Peninsula will do. Joe is a former longtime award-winning restaurateur and it shows with his expertise for hospitality and making guests feel welcome and at home. Coffee, real half and half - not powder, bottled waters and hotel quality toiletries in each of the two spacious bathrooms. Decor delightfully combines the best of old and new with all new high end bathroom fixtures. The parking pass Joe gives you is for the large lot right across the street so no trying to squeeze into a tiny spot. Best of all, the cottage is steps away from the main street with shops and restaurants and just a few short blocks to the beach and the paved walkway right into downtown Monterey!! We look forward to staying here again on our next visit to this wonderful area.
