Overlooking Old Town yet In a Secluded Forest Setting

Nice view & secluded for Florence OR.

Sweet view, nice pellet heater. We really enjoyed this place.

The heaters were on (no thermostat to control them) when we arrived and the house was very warm. We manually turned off every floor heater in the house but we could not cool the house to make it comfortable for sleeping by opening windows because most windows did not have screens and the mosquitoes and moths were active. Mattresses seemed to be very old, like if you stayed with your grandmother on a fixed income. Wi-Fi password did not work for any of us but the TV was on the WiFi so it was available for entertainment. The house is in a gorgeous setting and it is roomy. Five of us (everyone over 14) did not feel cramped at all. There are several decks and very large yard with a fire pit that was stocked with wood. You can see city lights from the deck and living room. It is stocked with ample places to sit and relax or socialize. We used the fridge and the microwave with no issues. We used the washer and dryer (saved the dryer for the morning, due to the heat it would add to the house), which was convenient. If the house had not been sweltering, we probably would not have minded the mattresses, but sleep was difficult the night we were there.

The house was clean, and the host was helpful during our stay he is kind and welcoming also the place was beautiful and comfy.

The property was quiet, secluded and perfect for a family vacation. We loved the fire pit, privacy was amazing and when we ventured to town it was still a short trek.

Wonderful location close to town and in the woods. No dish soap or DVD player in the place but we had a wonderful stay.

Once we got into the house, everything was fine. Our whole grp, of five, were pleased with both the surroundings & house accommodations. We had only one complaint, & that was the property owner would not pick up his phone when trying to reach him for access to the house. We were on the verge of leaving the grounds, when he finally returned my call. But, in his defense, the house cleaners shared with us, that the property owner is battling cancer, & is currently under going treatment. I wish him well.

We loved this property! Total privacy, quiet and lovely, surrounded on about three sides by a state park, and still so close to town. The house is perfectly comfortable, lots of windows and natural light. A single bathroom was totally adequate for the three of us! We would stay here again gladly and hope to do so if in the area again!

Very clean and nice. Oven didn’t work and pellet stove didn’t work. TV remote was missing. Only free streaming apps, no satellite tv and other tv stuff was there or accessible that listed in the listing amenities. But nice woods surroundings. Chair swing in pictures was not there. Didn’t get answers when messaging or texting about non working stove and missing tv remote. Someone just randomly showed up at night. Still no remote. Said stove would be replaced the next day, didn’t happen. Communication was poor. Place was very nice and location was very nice. Just a few things amiss that would have made it a perfect stay otherwise.

The house wasn’t very clean. There was no toilet paper. There were dirty pans in the oven. The oven itself didn’t even turn on so we couldn’t use it.

Rustic, private retreat, a little hard to find but that's what I liked about it.

This was just what I was looking for when I shopped for a rental. Its private and charming if not a little rustic...well, a lot rustic. But I really enjoyed it.

We enjoyed our stay, and would like to revisit when the weather is warmer to enjoy the outdoor features.

The property is very cool. Very private. Our only regret is that we were only able to stay for one night. Didn’t get a chance to enjoy the outdoor amenities.

The setting is top notch and wonderful. You can see Florence city lights and hear some of the hustle and bustle of small town life. The property is on the boundary of a local state park- Lots of mushrooms everywhere. Absolutely wonderful location. The only detractor is that the downstairs mattress was the only one soft enough to catch some intermittent sleep. This place would be much better with comfortable bedding/matresses. The steep driveway would be difficult for some vehicles.

Quiet, very private, but so close to everything. Driveway is a bit steep but no problem. Love the pellet stove. Will be back!

Lovely in woods older decor but charming and well kept property. Somebody left their dog poo in the yard so we picked it up. A sogn might help others to be respectful?

Host was friendly. Great secluded location to let our dog run and smell everything. Very quiet and comfortable.

Start with the good. Comfortable older coastal home. Nice location close to sand dunes and town. The driveway access is steep as stated in other reviews but was not a problem for us. The house is very private. Now for the not so good. The house had an off putting smell that required airing out. Dead bolt did not work. Owner/ manager has still not responded any questions through the VRBO ap. We had a booking error and after four attempts through the app with no response and multiple phone call attempts with a variety of answers from full refund to partial refund to just the cleaning fee we just wrote off the second night that we never stayed, double cleaning fee and all. When a property manager lists through VRBO they should respond to their customers through the messaging app. Any response would be better than none at all. I would give 0 stars on communication. If you book, beware there is no communication.

Very secluded with a state forest next to the property. Loved the large windows, patios and balcony.

The check in was super easy, the kitchen was clean, beds comfortable. The house was charming. The only odd thing was the lack of a light bulb, and the light by the bedside downstairs wasn’t plugged in. Two little things. Our 3 yr. Old granddaughter loved the house, enjoyed walking into the forest and garden! Thank-you! Best Birthday ever!

Unable to contact host to stay. Had to call VRBO customer support and find new lodging at 6 pm.

We had an amazing time in Florence, OR!!!Our band played at the Laughing Crab, which was packed with locals who were laughing and singing along while they ate dinner and lifted a glass or two. Then we arrived back at this forest retreat, where we roasted sausage dogs over an open fire. It was like a beautiful camping experience... except that we got to go in and take a shower and sleep in a comfortable bed!

Loved the seclusion

Loved the forest setting! So fun for the kids (8, 4, 2). Couldn’t find kids dinnerware so we used the ceramic or paper plates. Not a lot of other toddler friendly activities amongst the board games and puzzles, but we didn’t spend a lot of time at the house. Roku TV allowed us to login to all our apps for streaming. Location was so convenient to go run to the grocery store and drive to various tourist spots. We didn’t have any trouble getting up the hill with our Toyota Sienna. The house was very clean upon arrival. So cozy and welcoming! Couldn’t find a hatchet and host didn’t respond to our message (although he had called when we got into town) so we just used sticks and logs that were easy to pull apart. Bathroom door was a little difficult to open and close. Wonderful experience. We may stay there again!! Magical magical memories.

The location is great, but the driveway is a little rough. The house was not clean. There was dog food on the floor, a tooth pick left on the floor, the toiletries were wet and partially used. No wash cloths and there was sand in the upstairs bed. The deadbolt won't lock, the windows didn't have screens, the TV wouldn't turn on and the host was completely unresponsive. We only stayed for one of our booked nights.

Cherry Hill House provided a lovely haven in a wooded area with easy access to Florence. Everything required for an enjoyable stay was provided .

The surrounding property, location, and outdoor amenities (deck, fire pit) were outstanding. The house is older and more significantly had a strong odor when we first arrived. We were able to air it out, but that was not a great first impression. Regardless, the host was very friendly and communicative.

The house is fine and the location is good but it was inaccessible to us. The listing does not disclose that the house is on top of a very steep, poorly maintained dirt road. The road was so sandy that our Subaru got stuck and required a tow. We cut our stay short. Owner suggested that we park at the bottom of the hill and walk up. That was not a realistic solution as we were traveling with small children. Buyer beware.

A perfect location in a small, secluded forest area, but just a few minutes walk or drive from Old Town Florence.The cabin itself was cozy and comfortable with a rustic feel, but nice amenities. There was plenty of firewood available for nighttime campfires in the firepit.The road up to the cabin can be a tad daunting, but in the end, we were ok with a standard 2WD Jetta.

Spent a relaxing evening on our way down the coast. The cabin is charming and clean and so cozy! Our pup loved chasing her ball on the lawn and roaming around in the woods behind. Wished we had a longer stay here so we could have used the fire pit!

Very nice house tucked in woodland that feels like a remote retreat but is just outside Florence. Living room and outdoor spaces are very peaceful surrounded by woodland and there's a lot of effort to make guests comfortable throughout.

Loved this property! Tucked back in the woods was the perfect setting. Lots of room and very clean. By far one of our favorites!

Super clean place. Checkin was easy. Only issue we had was not having the right password for the WiFi. Initial instructions for checkin were out of date but owners reached out before stay to provide updated info. Tucked back in the woods a bit, and driveway is a bit steep but quiet, peaceful location.

The house is an older house, but it is wonderfully charming. The best part of this property is location, location, location. It has its own private forest a big green yard fire pits barbecue. It’s amazing. You can walk to the dunes privately. Your dogs can run freely!And the owner of the property is a real great guy! I would recommend this property any time! Some reviews listed the driveway as an issue. It is not it is perfectly.perfectly fine.

2nd time renting this house. We love it for the surrounding forest and dunes that lead to the river and sight of the ocean in the distance.

Older, no view, very steep driveway & working on it when we arrived,& no key in lockbox on arrival. Owner didn't remember booking it but showed up at 4:00 and the cleaners came about 4:15pm, after we arrived, to clean the house. Later we found a large roast in the oven with mold all over it. House was older but furniture was comfy, had good heart system, no dishwasher but we survived.

Hunted mushrooms on the property and had a ton of fun! Will for sure stay here again!

I wish i had it in me to give this place a terrible review. That would be for selfish reasons. Great little house in the woods under 10 minutes from everything. I was apprehensive after reading other reviews, rental car company messed up and gave me a little carolla instead of an SUV. Carolla got up the driveway just fine, no problems with the water or water pressure, property manager was great, price was perfect for what i got, dryer was swapped out the day i arrived, it was a great vacation. If you dont like peace and quiet stay away from this place Cant wait for my next visit!

We enjoyed staying at this house with our dog, surrounded by beautiful woods. We enjoyed downstairs patio and a deck upstairs as well as a seating area with a fire pit. At night you can see the lights of the old town through the trees. There are many excellent places to eat a few minutes away right across the bridge. We also enjoyed Darlings marina restaurant : amazing hamburgers and bbq. Safeway is close by. We had no issues with water and all appliances work. Our bed was comfortable. We would stay there again.

Wonderful little house up a small narrow steep road that added to the fun. Everything we wanted or needed except a washing machine. The washing machine did not work for us. Actually, neither did the TV. There were four adult women and none of us could get either to work. I still loved the house and setting. We didn't ask for help with the TV and didn't try the washing machine late our last night. I'm sure that our host would have helped us with the TV. Anyway, love the setting!

We loved the trails, yard, fire pit, the list goes on. The lights through the trees were breath taking. We recommend this home to anyone.

The road is steep, VERY steep, leading to the property but there was a forest wonderland located at the top. It was private and secluded. There was plenty of room for parking and outside activities. The forest trails were private and safe for all levels of walkers. It was a cabin with space and we were very comfortable.

Amazing setting with areas for gathering and exploring. Area for morning reflections with covered deck and sitting area, day of hiking and adventures in woodland setting and dunes, evenings around the campfire for marshmallows, songs and stories, night of comfortable slumber and dreams. Driveway was steep yet notified of this prior to visit and we were able to navigate up to find a exceptional getaway secluded and magical. The Turner Clan
