Outer Banks getaway with perfect access to Beach and Duck, NC

Let me first say, his house is in a perfect location in Southern Shores. It’s close to the beach, restaurants, and stores, but still tucked away enough to give you peace and tranquility. It’s the best of both worlds—relaxing and quiet, yet just minutes from the hustle and chaos of the main OBX drag in Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk if you want that.We had a minor AC issue during our stay, but the owners handled it quickly and professionally. That made all the difference.We truly enjoyed our time here and plan to be back. Honestly, if they ever decide to sell the place, I’d consider buying it myself—haha!Highly recommend this property!

Our vacation was amazing! Your home is beautiful with so many extra details. The location was fantastic. We plan on returning for another OBX vacation. This year was very special because our first grandson 7 months was with us. Next year hopefully we will vacation with our second grandson.

This is our third year for our family beach trip and I can say, we will definitely book this house again. Host: Jay was amazing throughout the process. He was communicative, detailed, and available when needed. We had a couple questions early on and Jay responded immediately! Thank you Jay for an amazing experience! House: You cannot ask for better! The house is spacious, laid out well, and recently renovated. There are plenty of beach/pool toys available. The pool was the perfect size for our group and our 7 year old LOVED it! It should be noted that you'll need to bring your own sheets, pillow cases, and towels. Location: Absolutely perfect, the pictures don't do it justice. The beach access (which you get a parking pass for) is private for residences. We never had trouble finding parking or a spot on the beach. The house is the first house off the road, but when you're inside, you cannot hear the road traffic! In addition, you're only a short distance from Duck! It's nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of Kitty Hawk. Cleanliness: Overall, the house was in great shape. I marked 4 stars only because there was a bunch of sand in the entrance and in the kids bedroom. In addition, there were still some food crumbs under the kitchen table and in the living room. We were able to clean it up quick enough and I know how hard sand is to get out ;-) Though we were sad to leave, we are already planning our next booking! Thank you again for an amazing experience!

The amentities and location of this property worked very well for our family. We love vacationing in the Outer Banks!!

This was our first time in the OBX. We took our daughter and her family including her two toddlers. “Southern Soul” did exactly what we were hoping it would. Staying at this wonderful house provided a week of incredible, lasting memories for our family. The house was located across the street from the beach. It was about a 7 minute walk total although there is a civic association parking lot in which house guests can use. The house itself was exactly what we needed. There is plenty of space inside as well as multiple areas outside to sit, play games, eat, etc. The private pool was VERY clean and refreshing. There are many pool toys as well as beach items such as chairs and a beach cart. Probably the most appreciated part of this stay was how well the owners communicated answers to a few questions we had prior to arriving as well as a simple one we had once we arrived. My hope is that we can one day stay there again. We are extremely grateful that we were allowed this week with family at “Southern Soul.”. Thank you again, Jay and Lisa.

Southern Soul was the perfect beach house for our family’s vacation. The home is very comfortable; plenty of space, fully stocked kitchen, clean pool. Renovations are looking great. Above all the location was amazing. We wheeled our wagon over to the beach every morning, which was so easy at the street light crosswalk, took no more than 10 mins from house to beach. We rode bikes into town for coffees and ice cream. We’ve stayed at many OBX rentals and this one is our new favorite! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is the second year our family has stayed at Southern Soul. We love the location! It's walking/biking distance to Duck, the beach access has showers to rinse at which was super helpful with little ones. It's also in the edge of a neighborhood that is great to walk in. They have remodeled the house since we were here last time and it's beautifully decorated and updated. We also love that there is a food pantry which seems like a small thing but a lot of houses we've stayed at before in OBX have nowhere to put food so the counters are cluttered with nowhere to prepare the food. Would definitely recommend this house. The host was very quick to respond to any questions I had.
