Otter Banks on Mercer Lake! Private Dock, Kayaks, Gas Grill and More

The location of the home on the edge of the lake provided a beautiful non-stop view from both the upstairs and the downstairs. This set-up encouraged us to spend a lot of extra time relaxing during our Autumn women's visit...which was perfect. The home does need some attention to details such as minor cleaning and functionality of appliances, utilities which was communicated to the property managers during our stay. Overall, I would recommend this home!

We absolutely loved this house, we had a familyReunion with my siblings, it was a great way to get away together and enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. The house was gorgeous, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We all agreed we would come back to this house in a heartbeat.

This is a lovely home with beautiful view of the lake. Our whole stay was peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances but be aware there is little to no spices, paper products, or condiments. Not like other homes so bring everything you might need for cooking. Otherwise you won’t find any fault with this home!

This is one of the most amazing properties I have ever stayed in. With space to boot and nature outside your door, Otter Banks is well worth the stay.

Another year here and gone and filled with fun kayaking, sitting on dock, and enjoying the wildlife. We finally caught a glimpse of a couple of otters!! It's become a yearly family vacation. We absolutely love coming to Otter Banks. The home is wonderful and very comfortable. The only downside for us is that we have a little Boston terrier that we can't have with us here and we have to find someone to watch for the 6 nights that we're there. She's a love and is always missed on this trip. I usually book our next year's trip before we leave, but this time the time was already grayed out for the whole month of August. I'm hoping it's because the family that owns the place will be spending time in their lovely home. If that's not the case, I don't know why it's grayed out. We had to find another place for next year because the time we come here is the only time that works for us work wise. It's a bummer! The only negative is that we did not have adequate dish cloths and kitchen towels for a 6 night stay. I called on 2 occasions but no one from house keeping showed up. Other than that we had a MOST WONDERFUL STAY!

The house was very nice and had great views of the lake. Kayaks and dock are well maintained.

If you are looking for absolute quiet and an ability to see nature up close and personal, Otter Banks is for you. If you want great internet access with great TV availability, Otter Banks is for you. If you are looking for great kitchen access with a nice bar area, Otter Banks is for you. If your group needs lots of space available or you just need space for a couple, Otter Banks is for you. This place is worth the visit.

Beautiful lakeside home for a large family or small group getaway. The lake and dock was wonderful even on a cool rainy weekend. The vibe is perfect for small craft and the garage is loaded with lots of opinions. Very nicely outfitted and large kitchen and dining room. A few things to consider, despite any website that suggests there is a hot tub, there is no hot tub. And the house is cold as heck when you arrive and take a very long time to warm up even with every heat source maxed. Don't forget a hike up Enchanted Valley!

A REAL STUNNER!! We had an amazing Thanksgiving week at Otter Banks. There was eight of us aged 9 to 87, and a great time was had by all. We played a lot of the games provided and really enjoyed just hangin out watching football. We have traveled extensively around the nation and this was the nicest propertywe have rented. The photos do not do it justice, which is something we have frequently found to be the opposite. The house was completely stocked with everything needed. Thankfully they even had a turkey roaster pan. More towels than we could ever use along with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. We hope to come back in the summer to use the kayaks and enjoy more of the outdoors. This trip was to relax in the cozy house and gaze out to the gorgeous scenery. A family of four deer wandered thru each morning which was a treat for us .

Another fantastic time making memories with my family at Otter Banks! We spent many hours on the lake kayaking and on the dock taking in the view and enjoying the fantastic weather together. The house is comfortable and so well laid out and furnished that it feels like home and not just a rental. The only problem that we had is when the front door lock quit working and we couldn't access the house through that door at the end of our trip and a key to the house was not in the alternate lock box. Hauling our things to our cars via the master bedroom door and the laundry room door was a real drag! Hopefully it was taken care of before the next renter arrived. We had the wonderful luck of experiencing the scene of a mother raccoon with her baby scaling a log just off of the shore while we were sunning on the dock. We love this place so much that we already have our vacation for next year booked and paid for! We even added another day! The only thing that would make this even better is if we were allowed to bring our Boston terrier. We're looking forward to spending time here next summer!

Our week was a lot of fun. The house is very comfortable. Swimming and boating were fantastic. I wish the kitchen had a teakettle.

We were looking for a family friendly home where our adult children, grandchildren Aunt and Uncle could all have fun. We found it! Otter Banks is awesome. The house is beautiful the property and lake are so enjoyable to just watch the day go by. The accommodations were very nice. Plenty of room for family or alone time. The kitchen is well stocked as well as tons of games and books. Not to mention the kayaks. The property owners really thought of everything. I think I can safely say that our family loved it there and would love to go back again. We saw deer every day and we did see an otter cruising around one evening. The beach and the town of Florence were a few min drive from the house and was close to beautiful scenery. We loved it!

Enjoyed everything about the house and surroundings.

This home is a 10!,! We were ALL impressed with this home, from the views to the beds! The family loved the Kayaks, and even watching the rain from several viewpoints! The only suggestion is for those unfamiliar with the area, (we had one of those) planned on the 19 minute walk to Old Town that took almost 3 hours, and there was no need for bathing suits since there was no stated hot tub. Great trip and home! We loved it!
