ORCHID ESCAPE~ 2 bedroom 2 bath set in Old Town with private dip pool!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed for 2 months at this home and loved the location. It was a quick walk down to Duval and the Wharf area. The backyard was wonderful with amazing foliage, furniture, and outdoor shower. The cocktail pool is not heated and does not get sun, but good for a super hot day and you need a cold plunge. We also sat on the front porch quite a bit and loved the bike racks inside the gate. Washer and dryer are in outside room and wonderful. We spent a lot of time in the backyard! Interior of home was good. Kitchen was recently renovated and had all new appliances. Pots, pans, and dishes are plentiful, and anything they didn't have was an easy purchase at the hardware store. Livingroom could use an update with the furniture. It's dated and/or uncomfortable. For the cost of this house, it was my one real disappointment. we are very active and rarely stay in to have a movie night, but the weather being unseasonable cold, as well as the amount of rain, we found ourselves inside more than usual and it just wasn't comfortable at all. For the cost of this house, it should have comfortable and updated furniture. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms and a trundle bed in the hallway for plenty of guest space. Master bath has a 3/4 bath, and I will warn you, the shower is very small. I preferred the outdoor shower just for space, but it's nice to have the bathroom right there. Your guests will have to use the downstairs bathroom. we swapped the beds because the spare was a king and the master was a queen, however the king was 2 twins so that made sense. Just make sure you put it all back where it belongs after! Will suggest bringing your own sheets and pillows. They are plentiful, but made for a rental home so bring your own comforts. In all, we truly enjoyed our stay here. The rental company was there if you reach out, but they left you alone to enjoy your stay and treat as your own home.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Having been coming to KW for over 20 years we knew we wanted to stay in Old Town and the location did not disappoint. The first days of our stay were marred by a critter in the crawl space creating a terrible odor. The washer and dryer unit were not in operating order. Melanie with the Property Management service was very responsive and the problems were eventually resolved. Two plumbing issued occurred during our 2 month stay which were reported. The master bedroom is very sunny and warm as the day goes on and there are no window treatments that help keep sun and heat to a minimum. The extra bedroom had an odor of mold and mildew despite the air conditioning and was not used. The backyard is very private but unfortunately limited shade. It could be made more usable with shade umbrellas in the yard and also on deck off master bedroom. We loved the front porch and enjoyed sitting and watching the comings and goings on Southard.

The layout worked well for my husband and me and our guests. We never felt on top of each other. The backyard is the major component as it's a magical extension of the living space with comfortable seating, dining, grill, lights, fan, dipping pool, shower, and tropical landscaping. White frangipani flowers fell to the ground daily. We enjoyed the front porch as well, the historic neighborhood, proximity to grocery, restaurants, and fish market, the hitching posts for our bikes, and once we deployed the many ceiling fans and figured out how to open all windows and skylights and get the house naturally ventilated and fresh, we hardly had to turn on air conditioning and felt like we were living inside and out. A few points: The main bedroom needs better pillows and some window shades and its balcony was too hot for us to use in May. The oven didn't work nor did the hot water in the downstairs bathroom sink. But the little storybook house provided us a peaceful worry-free month at the end of a year that was nothing but worry. I don't ever remember feeling so relaxed. We can't wait to book for next spring. Thank you.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our two months in Orchid Escape was excellent. The house is spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated with a well equipped kitchen. Our favourite place is the back yard where we spent most of our time. The garden is green and leafy with beautiful blooming orchids and shrubs. We enjoyed the plunge pool and outdoor shower on the hot days. The few issues of a pool leak and falling coconuts were handled in a timely manner by our property manager. We have booked for next year and look forward to future days in Key West.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Orchid Escape! The house was very clean and the location was perfect for us! It had all the amenities we needed. The back yard was absolutely AMAZING! We very much loved the privacy, landscaping, the little splash pool and the outdoor shower. Furniture inside and outside was very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet plus the ‘free bus’ was just around the corner!
