One-of-a-Kind Trolley Home, Oceanfront w/ Dune View by Tybee Cottages

We liked everything about this property! It was cute and one of a kind! Very clean and quiet. Very quick to the beach! Great experience

Pros:The old house was very unique and clean. We enjoyed the inside vibe very much. You can't see the beach itself because of the dunes, but the beach was right there at a short distance. It was a gorgeous view either way. The price for 4 nights was decent. Not cheap but not too expensive either. Also the ac was excellent and the hot water was too! Very family friendly place as well. Cons:The street to it is a narrow drive between 2 hotels. It was a little hard to find. There is a huge warp in the 2nd entrance inside the train car part that we kept tripping over. I highly suggest it get repaired before renting it out again. If someone does get hurt, that's an easy lawsuit. Most of the doors wouldn't shut all the way but it wasn't a big deal to us. The front door was a learning experience to open and close... there was a trick to it. But we learned it quickly.

This property reminds me of a pioneer farm house from the 50s.un even floors, basic hooks to lock doors, some doors would not close, low ceilings, no DW, Washer and dryer in a separate un air-conditioned OLD room, witha trolly car add on that was unusual.Beds were very nice, clean and comfy, pillows a plenty, AC worked great, on the beach, BUT, closest access was marked Private Property. So, do not get too excited by 3 bedrooms, two small bath rooms.Great towels, wash cloths, soap and shampoo free, great water pressure, but drinking water had a strange taste.

Place was very clean, but needs some TLC. Interesting home, but definitely showing its age. My family and I were able to fit ok, but if anyone else is remotely on the larger side, you'd have trouble fitting thru doorways and in the showers. I also did not realize one of the bedrooms is literally thru the master and I did not love that. That was my fault though for not realizing that when I read the description. Also, there were some beach items that previous people have left which was nice but they did not supply beach towels which I would have preferred. Overall not bad, but also not great.

This was our third year visiting Tybee but our first stay at Trolley house. Trolley house was cute and unique with a great location. It comfortably fit our family of 5. We loved getting to easily head to the beach everyday and even when the beach was “busier” we still had plenty of space to have our things and play. We would definitely come back to Trolley House!

Appeared very dated but clean, although had a lot of giant Palmetto bugs, lots of spiders and several regular roaches or baby giant roaches, don't know the difference. Needs regular pest spraying. Plan to stay in a hotel next time.

The Trolley Cottage was a dream come true. Exceeded our expectations; photos can't do justice to the house and the location! We were so impressed with the care given to restoration of the historic center of the property and the tastefulness of the decor and furnishings. And SUPER comfortable beds, sofas, and chairs. We settled right in. I left my phone when we left, and the response was prompt and helpful. Thank goodness! Our only suggestion is to upgrade the stove. A dishwasher would be nice but maybe not feasible in the available space. We were enchanted with our Tybee Trolley stay. Highly recommended for those who value history, beauty, and comfort.

Enjoyed it as much the second time as the first. Perfect location! So much charm and history.

So overall, this was a nice place to stay and it was right on the beach. However, I feel that the place needs a little bit of tender love and care. For example, the door was very hard to close and open, and also it took about an hour for us to get the key out of the key lock. We realized that the bed in the master bedroom had a book that was holding it up.which seemed kind of ridiculous. The sofa and the beds need to be replaced as the sofa sank all the way down and the bed gave us both back pain. As I said this place needs some tender love and care to bring up the standards to make it a nicer place for people to stay.

Great girl’s getaway

Great Location and a sweet little trolly house. Loved it.

We absolutely loved the cozy trolley. It was clean and decorated so cute. We had everything we needed. Close to the beach which was wonderful. Quiet. The weather could have cooperated a little (rainy) but we had a wonderful visit. Saw places in Savannah and Charleston. I would recommend the Tybee Trolley to anyone looking for that special place to visit.

Stayed at the Trolley for a girls weekend and it was perfect! The house is adorable and right on the beach. Will definitely come back!

This was a great location for the beach and town areas. We really enjoyed the time spent on the beach which was a short walk over the dunes. The beach was not busy and enjoyed the long walks during the day and night.

House was unique and full of character, but also immaculately clean, well-stocked, and completely comfortable. It was the perfect getaway for girls’ weekend.

The Trolley was a very unique place, but the outside area was not very clean & the grill was broken and could not use. We also could not open the lock to get the key out to open the door. There needs to be instructions on how to open the lock as we had to have someone come & open it for us. We waited over an hour to get in. We also didn't realize that we had no view of the water while using the porch due to the dunes. Something I will consider in future bookings. Also, the beach umbrella was broken & needs to be replaced. Overall, it was a unique experience.

It was a perfect space for three generations (grandparents, parents, kids) directly at the dunes and cross-over to the beach. The decor and unique trolley heart of the cottage made it have a wonderful classic beach house feel. The place was clean and easily accessible to the island's restaurants and shops. We especially loved eating and playing games in the front full-glass sitting area. The kitchen could use some updating but it was also quaint and adequate for our stay.
