Stayed Jun 2, 2026Property was unique and comfortable for our stay. Home felt like an owner was staying there as the fridge had food and condiments left. Surfaces could do with a clean as dust clearly visible on tables snd surfaces.Dishes were minimal with a single wine and beer glass for our stay … minimal kitchen items seemed like an mis mash for a quality stay. Master bedroom tv could be replaced with a smart TV vs local channels.Other than that - nice property, however we would stay elsewhere in the future.

Stayed Nov 26, 2025Unique Stay on Lake Eufaula! If you're looking for an unforgettable experience, look no further than this historic gem! It's not every day you get to stay in an accommodation that was once a jailhouse decades ago—talk about a unique history! The real standout is the location and view...a gorgeous overlook of Lake Eufaula. Watching the sunrise over the water was the perfect way to start the day. This property is a must-book for anyone who appreciates history, charm, and stunning views. Highly recommend!

Stayed Oct 31, 2025Our most unique and charming accommodations yet. The unit was clean and well equipped, in keeping with their reasonable price point. (We’ve stayed at rentals with thicker towels, higher thread count sheets, and higher end pots and pans, but the price was triple) We had everything we needed! The owners were easy to contact and responded quickly. They have truly done a beautiful job restoring this old time jail. It is the only time we’ve been incarcerated and we loved it. Ha! The property has a grand and glorious tree full of Spanish moss and acorns. Initially, the falling acorns on the roof were a tad startling, until we realized what it was and then we laughed because it was quirky and fun. The view is beautiful, although the water is not accessible. It was a delight to step back in time, slow down and enjoy this sweet, quiet, quaint southern town. I want to make a mention of another review that stated they were uncomfortable with the bars on one door and the all the windows; in case of a fire. We often vacation in a high-rise condo, on the beach. There’s only one way out in that situation also. In our opinion, the bars added an additional layer security and stay true to its history.

Stayed Oct 21, 2025My sister and I get away a couple times of year just to relax. This facility was perfect for that. I was out walking and came across a house that use to be a confederate hospital built in 1836. I didn't realize we would be in a historic district. We were close to a lot of good eating places so I don't know about the kitchen. I never used it except to make coffee in the mornings. That's what you do on vacation.

Stayed Sep 28, 2025This place is beautiful! Fully stocked with everything you could need. Very clean. I loved watching the sunrise over the lake. We visited some mansions, went to the canyon and ate at local eateries. The locals are so friendly and love to talk about Eufaulas history, let them know you are staying at the old jail and you will learn some fun/interesting facts about it. I did contact the host about extending my check out by a couple hours (i really didnt want to go home) he got back to me really quick :)This was a wonderful respite from big city living. My husband and I will definitely be coming back to the old jail soon!

Stayed Sep 1, 2025Beautiful place, but, there was a couple of things that concerned me a little. The bedrooms were closest to the front door (the solid jail door) and owner prefers that you do not try to open it. If there was ever a fire it would be very tricky getting out. Second, not a good place for small children unless a partial chain link fence was put up at the bluff

Traveling with my family which includes two 20 something sons. This old jail looks impressive from outside and is even more impressive from the inside. Beautifully decorated and super comfortable. We also checked out the local history of Eufaula. Great little gem!

Stayed Jul 25, 2025The overall stay was really nice. It had a fairly beautiful scenery. It was great that it was close to town and activities.coffee, towels, dishes, and towels ready and available. We were a little disappointed that we were more on a cliff and had not access to the water from the actual location. The trees and plants need to be cut back some. They were overgrown and were hanging on my car and in our faces. It took forever for the house to cool down. It still stayed hot in the back bedroom, even with the fans that were provided.

Stayed Nov 15, 2024Loved the cute house former jail. We had a beautiful weekend in this adorable little town. Enjoyed the water view. A couple things to note; no dishwasher, but thankfully we ate out. The bed was high off the ground and hard to get in and seemed smaller than a double bed width wise. We would still come back to this adorable place. Also, lots of road noise; the house is next to a busy road and a lake with boats.
