“On” the Beach, not CLOSE! Affordable Luxury. Private Boardwalk, Pool, Hot Tub!

The property was just as advertised. Very clean, well appointed, great view and the host was always available if needed. Would rent again.

Everything went well until we had to check out the garage door cable snapped so we were stuck for 3 hours. We communicated right away with the host because that is what we were instructed at the time of check in, but he was a bit rude and claimed that the cables of the garage had already been replaced. He gave us the garage guys phone number he uses which they finally showed up and fixed it to open the garage door for us to get out and we asked him had you replaced these cables cause they look very rusted which we took pictures too and the garage guy stated that no he hadn't that they did advise the host they needed to be replaced for that reason and that the host did not want to replace at the time that they recommended replacement. We called host back to let him know we were on our way out 3 hours later and asked him can we leave or did we have to wait for garage guy to finish his response was you should have left 3 hours ago very sarcastically. Our vehicle was stuck in garage we couldn't lift it manually because of the cables he had the audacity to say watch a YouTube video to do it correctly. The garage guy told us with that type of garage door the condo had it would be like you were lifting over 500 lbs. To sum it up trip was good but because there was an issue we brought up to the host we got unprofessional feedback. So, I definitely did not appreciate the sass I got from him nor being stuck in the house/garage issue because I did have kids who were getting hungry.

This was a PERFECT stay for our family! The unit is exactly as described, extremely clean and well outfitted. I would definitely look to stay here again. The location is wonderful!!!

Dates: 22 to 25 May 2026Our group consisted of 5 adults and 2 children. We loved the 1st floor’s layout. One perk was the available dedicated parking, including a 2-car sized garage. We loved the convenience of a patio, pool, plus private walkway (with fresh water for rinsing sand off) to the beach. The larger of the 2 master bedrooms became a favorite since it had a sliding glass door for viewing of the beach. Another great perk is that we truly didn’t need to bring anything (just as the property description stated). The restaurant recommendations from our Host, right down to the breakfast tacos at the nearby convenience store, were also excellent. Our personal favorite was Nauticos. However, we can honestly say that we enjoyed all the recommended restaurants that we tried.Kudos to Bill, our Host. Bill was very responsive to our questions before and throughout our stay. In our experience, while most hosts have been professional and responsive, our own personal impressions were that Bill went above and beyond, and therefore we would classify him as being a step higher than the usual “good” VRBO hosts. We truly appreciated this.In summary, the Sandpiper House is an excellent choice for a peaceful break away from daily life. The only down side of staying at the Sandpiper House is that now our standard, for vacation rental properties, will be higher than it ever was before. Thank you for helping to make our vacation stay so enjoyable and memorable.

Our stay at the Sandpiper House truly exceeded our expectations! The location was perfect; the photos are completely accurate, and the views are even better in person. The home was spotless, thoughtfully stocked with daily essentials—more so than any place we’ve stayed before—and the beds were comfortable. The bunk room was a little snug for four teenagers, but we made it work.Our group included two families of four (with teenagers) along with a set of grandparents, and the layout and location were perfect for everyone. Having a private boardwalk for direct beach access was an absolute dream. The pool, hot tub, and sundeck were huge hits with our group, and the teenagers especially loved the easy access to the ocean and waves.Billy was a fantastic host—he checked in on our first day to make sure we were settled and was always easy to reach when questions came up. We truly appreciated all of his recommendations, and he went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. This was our first vacation to SPI and I can say Billy and The Sandpiper set the bar very high!

Host is extremely friendly, thoughtful, and efficient. Shared many tips on fun spots on the island, great food joints, and places to shop. Townhome is beautifully decorated with a great kitchen and dining area, comfortable living room, great patio, pool and hot tub, comfortable beds, and most of all, a breathtaking taking view of the ocean from both levels with private beach access. We will most definitely stay here again. Thank you!!

Great stay!

Such a nice place. It has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. A little too big for just my husband and I but we enjoyed every moment of our stay. The beach and the pool/hot tub are perfect. We’ve always stayed at hotels and I was surprised how much we enjoyed the complete privacy. The pool is bigger than it looks in the pics. No hand rails. We struggled with that as we are in our 60’s/70’s. A couple of things I wish we knew, don’t worry about umbrellas, the pool and patio only have Sun part of the day. We rented one but didn’t really use it. There were no beach chairs, but you can rent them on the beach. We had loud neighbors a couple of nights. They are very close but the fences protect your privacy. We will definitely go back. Might bring the grandkids! We stayed 7 nights in early January and had perfect weather. Sunny and 70’s everyday.

This was a beautiful beach front property. Views were amazing and the beach access was perfect. Our grandkids ran around saying this is paradise!! It really was!!!!Our host Billy was fabulous to communicate with!!

Access to the beach was perfect. We were able to walk on the beach early mornings and evenings. The beach view was beautiful. We had a great view from the deck as well as the upstairs balcony. Our host,Billy, was very easy to work with. Will definitely keep this condo at the top of our list for the next trip down south.

Billy was great and so easy to communicate with. The thought and effort that was put into ensuring we had a pleasant stay was indescribable. The listing description was spot on. Location was amazing. We look forward to returning.

Location, location, location!!!

This is an amazing property. The house is pristine. You only need to bring your clothes and food. When I say they provide everything else I'm not kidding. Our family spent a glorious week here. Our ages range from 3 - 63 and there's something for everyone. If you have the opportunity, rent this for your next beach vacation. Our family will be back.

We’ve stayed at this house a couple times. Any time we plan a South Padre Island trip, we start out by reaching out to Billy and see if his place is available.

This is an amazing property! House is clean, well stocked, comfortable and right on the beach. Pool and hot tub are great additions as well. We would definitely stay here again. The beach house is beautiful...not that we spent any time in it! The master bedroom was amazing, the best part about it was the balcony that Das PERFECT for the most beautiful sunrises ever! (user note, if you don't see sunrise at the actual sunrise time, wait for it and ywait for it

Have rented neighboring properties in SPI from SPI rentals and this place was more accommodating. Kitchen was very well stocked if you choose to cook meals in. Dealing with Billy was second to none.

This was the perfect getaway. We were Looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate, and this place did not disappoint. The view was spectacular and it was right on the beach. The pool and hot tub was so much fun. This house was stocked with everything from beach toys to spices in the kitchen. Billy was so informative and responsive. The house was very comfortable and spacious. If you're looking for the perfect getaway, THIS IS IT! We will definitely be back! Thank you BILLY!

Wow! The Sandpiper house was outstanding. From planning our trip to visiting it was all amazing. Billy did a great job communicting with us from the very start and we had our flights cancelled and came in very late but Billy was so understanding. The house was very clean and there was lots for our ages of kids to do. From an 11 year old to 21 years olds we had a blast. We would go back again! Amazing trip!

My family had a wonderful stay here. The property was as described, right on the beach, had all the amenities one would need for a week or two. Communication was very easy with the property owner and he even let us know about the Space X launch. That was interesting to watch. We all had a great time and highly recommend staying here!

This is one awesome place-worked perfect for three couples. Great view! Super clean-the treasure chest was a treat! Boardwalk to the beach so convenient.

Great stay ON the beach! The weather don’t cooperate the whole time (in Feb) but we got a couple of great days on the beach. We simply walked the pina coladas from the kitchen down the steps to our beach set up! The ocean was warm enough for a few quick dips and as the day cooled we hopped in the hot tub. Plenty of room for a family of 6 adults- but it’s a great house for kids too! The bunk bed room is adorable. And there’s PLENTY of seating for dinner inside or outside, and lounging by the TV or the pool. We’d definitely stay again!

We have stayed in many VRBO properties. Along with a perfect location, layout, view, and being spotless, this home is one of the best equipped we have ever stayed in. Would recommend it to anyone that wants a great accommodation for their SPI vacation.

The property was just as nice as the pictures and description indicate. Being right on the beach was so nice for a quick beach walk or to just here the gulf waves crashing. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. The hot tub was also very nice. Comfortable furniture and beds /bedding made it feel like home. Last bit not least, everything was very CLEAN. The host was very responsive and provided some great suggestions for meals. We were very pleased!meals.

Wonderful place to vacation. Views are amazing. House was well laid out and plenty of room for 8 adults. The Host was very responsive and very quick to reply to any questions. You will enjoy the Treasure Chest of goodies. The host took the time to make a very informative binder packed with useful info of the surrounding area. I highly recommend anyone to stay a week.

Though the weather wasn’t great which is alway a rusk in January the house was perfect. Plenty if room for everyone 6 adults, but could easily have slept 10/-12. Truly as close to the beach as you can get, and the private boardwalk makes getting to the beach a breeze and protects the dunes. Would definitely stay again.

This unit is absolutely gorgeous with an excellent location, and the owners are amazing! They truly thought of everything. Most places are sparsely stocked with necessities that you have to bring or shop for upon arrival. This place has it all! This allows you to truly relax after your travels. Our stay was amazing. Everything was as expected and literally right in the beach. Billy was so helpful in many ways that it made our stay very relaxing which is what we wanted! Couldn’t ask for more…the pool and hot tub was in use all day long as well as ocean dips! Anything we needed from groceries to t-shirts to restaurants were only a few minute drive with so many choices! Just an all around excellent vacation! Would definitely recommend to anyone!!

This house was perfect for our large group of 12, including 6 kids! We were worried about the pool being too small but it actually was perfect for the kids. The location was great, being able to walk back and forth to the beach- can’t beat that, the convenience alone!! They really did have everything you need. Outdoor bin with tons of beach/water toys is so nice to have. They had a nice treasure chest with snacks and wine😊 The host Billy was very quick to respond if we had any questions! Would definitely recommend and would most definitely stay again!

Perfect vacation home!! Has literally everything you could need for a great beach vacation. Perfect location. Property owners are amazing and great communicators. Many nice touches. There are rare properties this nice with such amazing hosts. We scheduled our vacation based on the availability of this property. This was our second stay and we are hooked!!

We’ve been to South Padre Island, many times as a family, but this hands-down was the best place we’ve ever stayed. From the beautiful home, the gracious hosts, and the easy access to the beach. We will definitely make this our forever home when we come down to the island.

We've just come back from our second visit to The Sandpiper, and it was every bit as wonderful as the first time! The property is beautifully kept, and the amenities are absolutely top-notch. The breathtaking ocean views serve as the perfect setting for a genuinely relaxing retreat. We had an amazing week here, taking in the lovely surroundings and creating lasting memories.
