This is Kelly Burke. I want to thank you the hospitality this past week. My family had a wonderful time. Two things: Your manual inferred we should not put trash in containers outside because pick up wasn't until Tuesday. But as we departed today, we did put the trash in the containers because we didn't want to leave you with a hoard of fruit flies. They were very bad through the week. Secondly, Thursday evening, while my daughter in law was showering in the upstairs bath, my wife and I saw that water was leaking from that shower to the bedroom we were in downstairs along the ceiling and outside of the closet wall. We made sure no one else showered upstairs afterward. We did nothing unusual to precipitate that. We would recommend installing lighting along the walkway and steps to the beach. Even though you have a railing, it is still dangerous. My wife fell and I tripped. Fortunately, neither one of us was injured significantly, but it was a close call. Finally, we found the place was was dusty when we arrived and we had to do a fair amount of cleaning before we settled in. Otherwise, your place was very enjoyable - especially the beach area. Outstanding waterside location. Good internet service. Appliances all worked well. Good location to get to a number of great places. Despite the issues I raised, I would recommend this getaway. All issues can easily be addressed. Thank you very much.
Bishop's Beach is a lovely log home on a wooded lot right on the lake. Three doors along the back of the house open with screen doors so you can keep them open and hear the waves. Omena is conveniently located on Leelanau peninsula between Northport and Sutton's Bay making it easy to get anywhere - Leland, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes, etc. Communication with Jessica was easy.
Lovely, quiet area and great beach front! Gorgeous view! Kitchen was well equipped and lots of outdoor seating. Drawback was the horrible springs on the downstairs bed. Owner said it will be replaced. Also, the tree lined curves in the driveway made it very difficult to back the boat in. We would definitely stay there again but not bring our boat.
We had a great time at Jessica's place Lake Michigan in our back yard. Got to explore the upper part of Leelanau peninsula. Just beautiful Only complaint. Really need new mattresses and pillows .
The property location is very good- the front steps need a railing - to open the screen door you must step to the very edge of the stone steps. We spent the first hours replacing light bulbs - smoke detectors batteries - trying to tighten the master bathroom faucet- the furnishings need to be up dated / cleaned - the fabric is worn out - the newer front porch needs a railing - the stone path to the beach is at best a challenge- & when wet slippery- the owner should give strong consideration to fixing the rugged stone path - the beach & view is a 10 out of 10 - with some very needed new furniture - pots & pans & cleaning the entire cottage could also be 10 out of 10 -
We have stayed at this location and their other house next door for 4 years now and it never disappoints. The location is second to none and the beach is amazing. Would highly recommend!!
Beautiful location. Great view. Easy drive to everything. Very private and secluded feel. The owners are really good at communicating and helping out. They left an abundance of paper products and towels for us to use. The beach is a REAL beach with soft sand - right in the backyard. The beach is very clean. Mattresses have seen their better day.
We loved so many things about this beautiful home. The natural landscape, rustic cabin with all the amenities and very responsive property owners. They went to great effort to assist us the one time we asked. All the beds were comfortable and it was well stocked with items many other property renters tend to skimp on (I.e. toilet paper). I would highly recommend this property.
Great location on Grand Traverse Bay. Peaceful beach setting with great views. Perfect location for the family with plenty to do on the property and in the local towns.
The property was everything it claims to be. Beautiful house, yard, and beach! The views from the house are amazing. It's a wonderful place to relax and recharge. We appreciated the owner sharing it with us.
