The owners of the home was prompt getting back with me when I had questions. The house was beautiful inside and out. They also sent me weather updates for that area. We had a wonderful time.

It was a great home for us and our 2 dogs. The hot tub was fantastic. The sunsets from the top deck were beautiful. It was a short walk to the beach and you could drive the golf cart to the beach parking.

Had a great family vacation! The house was exactly as pictured and the hosts were very responsive.

Love this neighborhood and beach access was a short walk or quick golf cart ride. Kitchen has basic spices, oils, flour, sugar, coffee filters, etc. Cabinets are well stocked with plates, utensils, cups, glasses and mugs. Very helpful for cooked family meals at the house. Can easily walk to Dollar General or Waves Market & Deli. Private pool is great and well-maintained. Views from top main floor are gorgeous! Also, huge plus having beach umbrellas and beach chairs available. Owners were communicative. It's obvious they have put thought into what guests typically need and want during a beach trip. Thank you for letting us stay! Would definitely return!

We had a great time.

Our hosts and VRBO choice are excellent. Even with stormy weather causing a few outages, all were repaired promptly. We enjoyed everything we could at the house - pool, hot tub, games/game room, movies, fixing meals. It was a great time and celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with family. Extra curricular- fishing trip, wild horse tour, family pics, shopping -all fabulous! We can't say enough good things about Doug and Sarah, awesome couple and hosts. We will be back! Thank you!!

Great location, well appointed, nice indoor/outdoor flow of living space

My overall impression of the rental is very good! Doug and Sarah are excellent hosts. Very good communication and responsive to any issues as they arise. The games and chairs provided was nice. Helped with keeping our packing lite. Pool and hot tub were nice additions to the rental. One downside was the cover to the hot tub doesn’t have a frame to assist in keeping the cover on the tub. We had a great week and would recommend this rental to anyone. The golf cart was a game changer in getting the kids and stuff to the beach. It would be helpful if you could park the cart at the beach access and Doug is working with the HOA to make this happen. Note it is a short walk to parking area for the cart but would be really nice to park closer. I would like to thank Doug and Sarah for allowing us to stay at the beach house and would not hesitate to rent from them again. Thank you!

our stay was wonderful. The house was everything the owners said it was and more. The owners are careing and kind. i wish we didnt have to leave. i hope we can come back again. Best vacation ever!!!

Clean and very comfortable! Enjoyed the hot tub and golf cart even in November! Plenty of cookware to prepare and serve a Thanksgiving feast (we had to bring our own roasting pan but knew that ahead of time). Would stay again!! Very satisfied with the whole experience!

The overall stay was pretty easy, the property was more dog friendly than expected which was a pleasant surprise and the communication was great with the owners. I think there are a few lights that were out while we stayed it didn’t affect the overall experience but would have made getting around the property when dark much easier. Overall no major complaints and we all enjoyed our stay.

We had great communication with the owners from the time of booking until the end of our trip. The house and everything was clean. For our mid Sept visit, the pool was still comfortable for our kids to play in. We enjoyed quiet mornings having coffee on the upper deck. Our dogs enjoyed hanging out with us in the backyard. The beach wasn’t too far to get to, and the golf cart helped us get our belongings out there easily!

We had a wonderful stay with a large family and 2 dogs and had the most wonderful trip! Would totally recommend this property and the owners are amazing as well! Thanks so much for such a wonderful place to stay. Home away from home!!! We will be back!!!

This home was perfect for our vacation needs. It’s not the newest, fanciest house, but it’s comfortable and has everything you need to keep kids (and dogs) happy. Some highlights: 1. Very communicative and kind owners. You can tell they are committed to making sure your stay is great. 2. Huge pool, clean and well-maintained with lots of toys and floaties already there and inflated for you. The depth isn’t marked but I’m guessing 4 feet at each end and 6 feet in the middle. 3. The golf cart was very useful for hauling beach gear (and grandparents) to the beach access walkway. 4. The neighborhood is quiet, the local market (which has fantastic food) is easily walkable without going on to the main road, and the beach is an easy flat walk (or 1 minute golf cart ride). The town is very small but has the market (our favorite), a Dollar General, a handful of local restaurants, and a Dairy Queen. Avon is an easy 20-min drive and has most everything you could want. 5. Truly kid and dog friendly! From the large comfy sectional perfect for a pile of kids to the shelves full of board games to the dog dishes and blankets and crate, this home is very easy to relax in. It feels like a home people live in. The carpet turned out to be a bonus as there are no squeaky floors (or doors)—perfect for getting the kids to sleep then sneaking back upstairs to hang out with other grownups. Our kids begged to come back to the same house next year. What more could you ask for?

House was nice, very nice pool and hot tub. Great jumping off point to Hatteras, bodie lighthouse, then points north kitty hawk, and outlets for shopping not too far, great food around.

We absolutely loved Doug and Sarah’s little piece of heaven. They were excellent hosts that made sure we had everything we needed for our stay right down to the updated weather forecasts for our stay and recommendations for what to do when the weather wasn’t great for beach going. Doug went above and beyond to make sure that my disabled husband had the information he needed to get him to the beach and let’s not forget that it’s pet friendly so our service dog was right at home. The pool was a hit with the kids and adults alike. There was plenty of room as the pool is a good size. Doug and Sarah’s place is perfectly located with easy access to the ferry to Ocracoke as well as getting to Manteo to check out the aquarium so we really enjoyed that as well. We would definitely recommend staying and would stay again in the future.
