Oceanside Family Vacation Cottage

My family and pets had a great time. Location was great. The place was as expected. Layout was great. We had no issues. Was peaceful. Close enough to stores. Short drive to the sound were the dogs loved to play. Would stay again.

We had a relaxing vacation. When the weather got better we caught fish. It’s always a pleasure to stay at the beach house!

This house is absolutely filthy. Upon arrival on Saturday, I spent several hours wiping and sweeping. There was a door placard from Hatteras Helping Hands advising that the home had been cleaned and inspected, and an envelope left for gratuity. Please see the photos of how clean the home actually was. Unfortunately, it was too late for a change of accommodations, as our family, who were joining us, had secured time away from their jobs and were traveling from a distance. The homeowner, the cleaning team, and VRBO should be highly embarrassed by this rental, as this is what they represented to paying customers. We will never use VRBO or stay at this home ever again, and would advise future renters to reconsider this home. It ruined our yearly family getaway.

It was fine, but the property smelled of mold. See attached photo. Other than that it was great. Loved the open space of lr dr and kitchen. Just all the vents were full fo mold.

Very nice beach house… Great beds, nice outside deck and widows’ peak upper deck. The kitchen had all the plates and glassware you could ever need. It was an all-around very comfortable house.

Our family just returned from a one week stay at the Tidewatch, and could not be more pleased. House is exactly as presented, was clean, and the location to the beach and local businesses that we enjoy cannot be beat. The driveway is the nicest on the street. House had plenty of room for our family of 5, and we enjoyed the deck & widows peak. We have booked a repeat stay here next year.

I stay at this property now twice a year. It’s a great place. It’s close to the ocean and it’s nice and clean and updated has a nice concrete driveway we love this house. It’s one of my favorites.

Wonderful location. We had a great week

This was our 3rd time staying at Tidewatch. The cleanliness and amenities are all anyone could ask for. Because of all the amenities we were able to pack light but still have everything we need. The property owners are great at communicating. The walk to the beach is a breeze. Each time we have stayed there have been improvements to make the visit even more enjoyable. We love the porches and widow’s peak and also had plenty of space to stay entertained during the couple rainy days. the neighborhood is great as well. We will be back! We love Tidewatch!

Great location and well furnished

We had the best time exploring what 12 south had to offer at a super mellow pace. This home was a perfect match for our family of 4. Beds were super comfy and the outdoor amnesties were plenty. There were so many options to access the nature and beauty of this quieter stretch of OBX and we watched the sunrise on the beach every morning. We booked for 2 weeks next year ??❤️

Overall great stay. Location is the best feature, 100 feet to beach walk way, quiet street, Avon is a wonderful town. Owners had great communication and quick to respond. You can tell they are working on continuing updates with the property as they go so I expect it will get nicer and nicer. New Concrete driveway was a big perk that I did not expect as it was not in pictures but it makes hosing down car, kids , kids toys etc from all the sand easy. Mattresses must have been updated from some previous reviews as they were soft and in good shape. Overall pretty updated and nicely decorated house with most things you would need. The one knock on my review was the cleaning crew did not do the best job but it is a pet friendly beach house and quick turnarounds so I do understand. There was some black dog hair left around on mattress sheets / floors and just a general quick clean as there was still dust, liquid stains etc (easily managed). It was a hot week and AC struggled a bit to keep back rooms cool. I would stay again and owners were notified of some of those very minor issues. I will also add that comparative to the pricing of others when looking around I feel the value at this place is great!

2nd year staying here with our family and making many beach memories. Perfect location and perfect beach house.
