Stayed Jun 27, 2025You can't beat this location for a beach-front property. Absolutely amazing! We loved walking down to the tide pools and taking walks along the beach. It was clean, well-stocked, and had lots of beach toys in the garage. But....the beds were terrible. Very hard and uncomfortable so none of us slept well. If you're a person that can sleep on anything, you'll be fine. But for us, it was difficult to go home from your expensive vacation tired because of the poor beds. If they upgraded the beds, yes, 5-stars for sure!

Stayed Sep 21, 2024Gorgeous house. There were a cluster of inconveniences upon arrival (shades fallen, had to repair, unable to plug in electrical items near bed, had to move a heavy things, toilets screeching when flushed had to open lids and jiggle each time, bbq hose leaked so no tanks were usable)but those were eventually repaired by the manager of Haustay. The biggest disappointment was that the stairs which lead to the beach were covered in slimy moss way before you got to the bottom and, with no handrails, impossible to use. The photos on the site were, likely, very old and taken before the tides had gotten as high as they now are. So, we could not access the beach from there which is the main reason we chose to pay that high price for that house. That was sad. But, the views were exquisite and the space was comfortable and clean. The management is great. They did what they could to fix each problem as soon as they were aware of them.

Stayed May 16, 2024This property remained as magical as it was when we were there five years ago - nothing has changed and it was absolutely wonderful. Perfectly situated in a small private neighborhood just South of Carlsbad. Picture windows overlooking the ocean, as well as plenty of lounge chairs etc. on the back porch to enjoy the beautiful meditative ocean all day long from the bluff upon which the house sits. Then walking down the private steps to the beach - at low tide there are tidepools and you can walk all the way to the public beach on either side of the neighborhood. The gardens are beautifully maintained front and back. Fully equipped with just about anything you could want for meals. We used the barbecue effortlessly several times and prepared several wonderful family meals. All of the bedrooms had private baths, and were very comfortable. Each bed had a different firmness, ranging from very firm in the master to very soft for the room in back of the kitchen. Communication was easy and instructions were clear. We would definitely stay again!

Stayed Mar 15, 2024The view is AMAZING! The host is communicative. Parts of the house are a little outdated but all the locations you want to spend your time in are in great shape!! We love to cook and the kitchen was our favorite place next to the view and location!
