Great house with a huge open upstairs. One bedroom upstairs in the remainder downstairs, nice bathrooms, and everything we needed for the kitchen. The views are tremendous.

Absolutely loved Mermaid’s Dream! They had everything we needed for a great week in the outer banks!

Fantastic view, lovely home, definitely pet friendly! We had an amazing visit and Melissa was kind enough to message me as soon as she found out we had left the grandbaby's teddy bear! Highly recommend!

Nice to be able to enjoy the view without stepping outside the house (it was windy and cold). Lots of room and the kitchen was well stocked.

Our son is already asking to book again! Next time with a 7 month old…amazing to know that we don’t have to change spots because we have room to grow!

The host was excellent. Always very friendly and professional when discussing thing. The house was absolutely gorgeous. My family would love to make this a New Years tradition. The view was amazing. Nice quiet setting to relax ans enjoy ypur stay.

We faced some challenges getting to the property due to the recent storms, but everything else was top notch! The owners were great to communicate with, and the waves crashing under the deck was magical. The house was clean and well equipped. Thank you for an over the top experience!!!

9/25 This rental is a very nice place to stay, with a great view. It is so close to the surf that the water ran under the house at high tide. We could not park on driveway due to deep sand, but street parking was available. This is a good rental if you have a dog.

We wanted location. I was perfect! Stayed in Rodanthe many times. It is our favorite.Communication with Melissa was outstanding. She went overboard to keep us happy.

The weather was a little rough but the house and location were perfect!! Couldn’t ask for a better location, right in the beach! Had a great time there.

The property was perfect. No complaints at all with the owners or property. My complaint was being evacuated and VRBO would not refund the money. The owners ended up doing it. Will not book through here again. Will book with the owners.

We have stayed at this property several times before, when the previous owners were renting it out. At that time, it was very charming and cozy, always clean, always well stocked, always a lovely stay. Now that the new owners have taken over, it was noticeably shabby, the furniture was dirty, the house was not clean when we got there, the dishes were put back in the cabinets however, they were greasy, forcing us to wash everything we wanted to use. The whole property is rundown. Almost all of the charming little touches that were previously present had been removed, leaving the house kind of sad. The water filter paddle in the refrigerator door was gone when we got there. I let the owners know, and they simply thanked me for letting them know. No mention of having anyone fix it. Overall, it was quite disappointing, and sadly we won’t be staying here again.

We had a wonderful time at Mermaids Dream! It is right on the ocean and the views are spectacular! The house is roomy and had everything our group of 10 could ask for. The hosts were very quick to respond to my questions and I would not hesitate to stay here again! Just perfect!!

Had an amazing time! View was incredible from deck as well as inside the house (2 sliders allowed views in both directions on days too chilly or rainy to go sit on deck). Close to pier. Short drive to Nags Head when wanted to go to larger stores, but really nice to be in quieter area with less traffic on roads and beach. We will definitely book again if we return to the area.

Wonderful location. Just what we were looking for. We are in our 70's so the sand in the driveway was difficult to wade through. Could have supplied some garbage bags, toilet paper and soaps. We flew in, so it would have been nice to have those items on site. The upstairs television was not hooked up correctly so it took a little to fix it. Overall we all had a great time, though.

Perfect location! Despite the cooler temperatures, we still managed to be on the beach every day. Our grandson (5) didn’t want to leave. The house had everything we needed, though I do recommend bringing extra garbage bags, baggies, toilet paper and paper towels. We did make several trips up to Nags Head area for dinners out and other activities. We had a campfire on the beach on one of the less windy days and cooked out on the charcoal grill twice. The house was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the sunrise every single morning (even though we had to wear coats and blankets). Finally saw some dolphins on our last day! We highly recommend larger groups who can split the cost…plenty of space for up to 10 people.

The house layout is great. It was clean. The view of the beach from the living room is wide and unobstructed. The main level is very open and spacious with high ceilings. The kitchen table is huge and seats 8. Two of the bedrooms are attached to bathrooms. However the roomiest shower is the tub on the first level. Water pressure was good. The largest bedroom is on the 1st level, east side. Black out curtains worked great. The home is well equipped with cookware and kitchen items. The kids loved the jetted tub. We stayed during our spring break (1st week of April) and there were very few people around. The decks are panoramic. Hose bibs are outside entrances on both levels to clean sandy feet. The beds are big and comfortable. The neighboring house on the north side no longer exist even though it is in the satellite view map. Because the house is right on the beach the storms pushed A LOT of sand into the driveway and over several feet of the entrance steps. Not the house or homeowner fault but be aware. A two wheel drive vehicle could not park there due to the thick sand. I parked on the road. We really liked the house. The location isn’t convenient to shopping so get your main groceries in one trip. The pier is about 500 feet away. It opened 4/5, the day after we left unfortunately (. The homeowners were very responsive and pleasant to communicate with. This is our house of choice for that section of OBX.

The property was amazing right on the ocean, clean and easy to check in. We didn’t realize we needed to bring a lot more from home. All the beds didn’t have sheets and no extra ones at the property. There were only 2 towels for 5 people to share for showers. We had to buy more for our week there. There was not enough toilet paper or paper towels we had to buy more. There were no extra garbage bags either. We also had to buy a towel to use in the kitchen.

We had the most wonderful time at Mermaid’s Dream!! We couldn’t get over how beautiful every view from the house is. It was very clean and spacious. Traveling with a toddler can be tricky, but we were provided with a travel crib and high chair. Plus the house was very kid friendly (not a lot of sharp edges or things our son would hurt himself on.) Our dog loved laying on the deck and watching the birds. We stayed up playing games that were provided after we put our son down. The house had everything we needed and more! (Even had to use a couple band aides from the first aide kit that was available!) We will be back!

What a relaxing get away to this beautiful OCEAN FRONT home! The house was clean and spacious with INCREDIBLE VIEWS (saw tons of sea birds, dolphins and actually spotted a whale)!!! The kitchen was well equipped and the oversized kitchen table was perfect for gathering for meals, playing games, doing puzzles, etc. The ability to have our fur baby with us was icing on the cake! We’ve stayed here multiple times through out the years and it’s always nice to come back. Unfortunately we did have to leave early due to the King Tide but the hosts were great with responding.

The house was amazing. The ocean is just a few steps from the house. You can hear the soothing waves 24 hours a day and during high tide they reach just under the house. The views of the ocean and the pier from the porches are unbelievable. This has been our favorite OBX vacation. Thank you for the relaxing getaway.

The house is beautiful. Very clean and has everything you need for your stay. You can’t get any closer to the water than if you went on a cruise. The week we stayed was right at the end of a big storm system so waves were rough and the tide came up and flooded the road in front of the house. We had a truck so it was not an issue for us. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the house. Would definitely recommend this house if you want to be right the water.

The house was clean and comfortable for our family vacation. Communication was excellent and check-in process was very easy.

We liked this property's proximity to the ocean! We enjoyed watching the surfers and taking walks on the beach. The kitchen is well-stocked with gadgets and appliances, and everyone slept well in the king-sized beds. The inclusion of sheets and towels is a bonus. We rented bikes and were happy to find the bike path out on Rt 12. The property is close enough to stores, etc that we were able to ride our bikes there.

We had a very nice trip. The outdoor lighting at night could have been better, but overall we had a very nice stay. All the families enjoyed the house very much!
