Boasting panoramic ocean views, a recently remodeled interior, and all the modern comforts you could desire, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom Yachats vacation rental has it all! From morning whale-watching and coffee on the ocean view deck to snuggling in front of a fire, you'll want to plan your next Oregon Coast getaway at this amenity-filled, oceanfront retreat.
This Oregon Coast vacation rental is located in a quiet neighborhood, along a charming cul-de-sac. You can easily walk to town or to the beach from here. While beach access is sometimes available right from the property via a short but quite rugged trail, please be advised that the path may not be accessible at all times of the year due to erosion and seasonal changes. Easier access is available just a mile away at the Yachats State Recreation Area.
When you arrive, you'll feel your stress and worries start to melt away. Get comfortable at the window seat and use the binoculars to look for ocean life, curl up on the couch with a good book, or watch some satellite cable or a DVD on one of the four TVs (there are also four VCRs here). The living room is also a perfect spot to watch a dramatic winter storm as you stay nice and comfy indoors in front of the fire. You'll have modern comforts like a bonus TV/game room, a collection of DVDs and games, a work area, WiFi, and space for everyone to spread out and relax. There's even a washer and dryer for making sure everyone has clean socks while on vacation.
Set a place for everyone at the wooden dining table and if you need extra spots, there's the breakfast bar for a few more. You can set up an adults' and a kids' table here with ease. And when it's time to get dinner on the table, the full and modern kitchen has a refrigerator, stovetop/oven, dishwasher, and microwave.
After dinner, turn on the fireplace and watch a stunning sunset out the windows, or stay on the deck and observe from the built-in bench. This spot is a perfect place to spend an early morning doing yoga stretches or finishing the last of the wine at night. No matter what you do, you'll have stunning ocean views as a backdrop. The two stylish bedrooms here also have views of the water. Grab bars in the lower-level bathroom and a wheelchair ramp at the entrance also make this property elder-friendly.
When you do get down on the sand, this quiet, peaceful beach offers seasonal whale watching, basalt headlands, blowholes, and tide pools. Hunt for agates or just relax on the sand with a picnic lunch. Walk along the historic 804 Trail - it runs along the ocean from the north end of town, all the way to Yachats State Park. Just south of Yachats, you can explore Cape Perpetua Scenic area and its magnificent ocean viewpoints. There are over 25 miles of interconnected hiking trails to explore here, as well as a visitor center for exhibits and guided walking tours.
Whether you storm-watch in the winter or have fun in the sun, your time at this central Oregon Coast vacation home will be memorable for everyone in your group. Families, friends, or a bit of both will enjoy relaxing right by the shore in the peaceful oceanside town of Yachats.

What I loved about the property was the view and the feeling of seclusion. The house was cozy and comfortable, but the fireplace wasn’t working at the time, so that was a bit of a bummer. This house needs some repairs, but it served our needs and it was, all in all, a great stay.
Trip was fine. House was very clean and perfect for our needs. Lots of cats on the wall. And dogs too! But very clean and beautiful view.
Unfortunately, my sister got sick and we weren't able to go. Hope to try again in the future. Please ignore stars.
We chose this property for it's location, and it did not disappoint. Like other comments said, any closer, and you'll be in the water. We pretty much stayed on the main floor and it was perfect! The kitchen, living room and main bedroom have the most incredible views. Spaceful, comfortable and inviting property. If you like cats and dogs you'll be in heaven ;) We're very grateful with the owners for sharing their second home. We had a wonderful time in it. Our only concern it's with the windows on the 2nd floor, they need to be replaced before they can cause some damage. But other than that it was a great experience.
The house was clean and it had a terrific view. If you want to walk on the beach you have to either drive or walk along a busy narrow hwy 101 shoulder to get to it. The propane grill is completely destroyed so if you’re planning on grilling bring charcoal for the charcoal grill. That grill didn’t appear to be in very good condition either though.
Lovely time, lovely setting, wonderful weather!
We left a note detailing things we found wrong that were not revealed pre-arrival. Torn window blind off downstairs TV container. We didn‘t use TV – binoculars had a worn right eye piece - treads seemed stripped - it just slides off – won’t focus. Downstairs shower was not working – water wouldn’t turn on. Fireplace was broken. Nothing fatal or detracting from such a fantastic house and wonderful week. I would recommend Sea Rock to anyone, unless I was planning to book for the same time period. Bill (and Terri) Archer
We had the most amazing time here. So much so that all 4 children, my husband and myself have decided to move to Oregon. This home is amazing, the tide pools provided endless opportunities to explore. The waves from any window, the porch or the deck are all amazing. 3 minutes to food and coffee, but secluded and peaceful. The house is well maintained and pretty well stocked. We're already planning a return trip this summer. I highly recommend staying here. We will be back. Thank you for the best family vacation yet.
10/10 for location and a true oceanfront rental. House is dated but clean and mostly comfortable. New couches in the living room. The fireplace is still broken “waiting on parts”. The beds are just as awful as some suggested. Rock hard and small. Linens were nice and clean. There is an interesting and massive collection of art covering the walls that I felt took away from the feel of a coastal vacation home. My thoughts were with all that was spent on artwork, comfortable beds would have been a better investment. You could charge more nightly with better beds and quickly recoup your money.
Live entertainment from the comfort of the living room watching the winter tides crash and flow in and out of the tidepools while seagulls drop mussels from their flight onto the rocks to crack them open to eat.
Any closer to the waves, we’d be floating. Beautiful comfort inside Sea Rock. Clean. Comfortable. Spacious. We will be back without a doubt.
The good the bad and the ugly of Sea Rock Retreat The good. The location of this home is spectacular, especially for storm watching, the location alone rates a 10. The home itself is large and well laid out with an upstairs sitting room, bedroom and bathroom that is seperate from the downstairs and very private, It's the perfect setup for 2 couples, a family, or friends who want to hang out together, but also have some space apart. The bad. While the overall cleanliness of the home was good, the kitchen is one level above gross. The cabinet fronts need a long overdue scrubbing, some of them are so bad they were sticky to the touch. The refrigerator has tape residue all over the front of it and also some spots of residue inside. The freezer has frozen food that looks like it has been there for years on the bottom shelf that is blocked with duct tape. Why???? The kitchen sink faucet is broken and caked with grunge, it works, but come on, this is an easy fix. The downstairs mattress is firm and unless you like sleeping on concrete bring a mattress pad to put on the bed, you will be glad you did. The upstairs shower/bathtub is slow to drain and fills with water as you are taking a shower, another easy fix. The fireplace is a mystery. We could not get it to work, we called Vacasa and they sent over the maintenance person who was able to get it working, unfortunately he could not tell us how he managed to do that. The fireplace worked for a couple of hours, went out and we could never get it working again. Luckily the house has a good furnace so it wasn't a huge issue, but a fire would have been nice. The ugly The downstairs furniture looks like it was dragged in from the dump. It's incredibly worn, dirty, and broken, The loveseat has a huge hole in the back and is falling apart. Neither the loveseat or the sofa are usable, which really put a damper on our vacation. We were there for a week and ended up getting lawn chairs so we had somewhere to sit downstairs. There is one lamp downstairs, it's ceramic and is broken, not just a crack, but has a big chunk taken out of it leaving the edges exposed and sharp. I have never been to a place where the lamp was a hazard, but this one is, especially of you have kids who could cut themselves on the lamp. My message to the owners of this home. I understand why you don't want to invest a lot of money into the furnishings, I get it, but for the sake of future guests go to the goodwill and get a new lamp and sofa set and consider upgrading the downstairs bedroom mattress. If you are looking for a luxury home, look elsewhere, this is not the home for you. If you are looking for a spot in a spectacular location to share with friends or family for storm watching or just to hang out and watch the waves, it's a good house for that but bring your own lounge chairs!
We really liked the location of this home, but were disappointed that nothing seems to have been done to improve the quality of the beds as noted in previous reviews. Also, the gas stove in the living room does not work.
Knob fell off the door at the top of the stairway, gas fire place didn't work
Nice place
