Oceanfront Home with Pool & Private Beach Walkover

We have stayed at this house several times and we really like the changes that the new owner made. There are more beds in each bedroom that gives you more options on sleeping arrangements. You now have access to the 3 car garage which is nice so your cars do not have to sit in the hot sun all day. Each bedroom having it's own bathroom is very nice too!

This house was perfect for us! We would love to come back!

After renting many homes for the past 20 years through VRBO, this home was a most disappointing choice. This vacation rental did not offer a relaxing home experience but more disappointing was the condition of the pool--it was totally unusable, only half full and not maintained. We feel the home was misrepresented in the pictures and the description. It definitely needs updated and deep cleaned. The property managers responded promptly and for that we are grateful.

The house was on a very quiet part of the beach with great access from the private boardwalk. The house was clean and very comfortable for our group of 12 a young infant. It was great to have the 3 car garage for our use as well as a washer and dryer. We made wonderful family memories. ( it was too cool to use the pool but would have been nice).

Beautiful stay, on the beach. Really can’t beat it. Did have some issues with the dishwasher and dryer not working so had to hand wash the dishes and come home with a bag full of wet clothes sadly. Large area of sewer is standing between the two houses which smells awful but that isn’t the owner of the houses fault. Over all would come back, would just hope the dryer and dishwasher would be fixed! Also love that it is pet friendly.

Beach towels would be nice. The showers upstairs both leak onto the floor even if door is closed. The place is tired and needs to be throughly cleaned. Many items were broken or damaged which left a poor impression. For how it was pictured it did not meet the same standards as we expected. I would not have booked this unit had I known of the maintenance needs.

I would not stay at this cabin again, but I want to be fair and point out the good and the bad.Good: Bathrooms were clean! View was great! Host was responsive.Bad: A lot of maintenance issues, whistling window that wouldn't close all the way, breaker tripped multiple times in living room, outlet not working in hall bath.Just good to know: the downstairs bunk room was not designed for adults, the toilet and the mattresses are meant for children. And when they say parking for 6 cars, it is literally for 6 cars, not trucks, the parking is very tight.

We loved the location of the house, it’s exactly what we hoped for. We spent majority of our time outside, pool, grill, the direct access to the beach was perfect. Would give them a 5 star review but the breaker in the living room kept going off.

There is not enough good to overcome the horrible rodent issue. The owner and management company should take this property off the market. There was mouse and rat droppings and urine on the main floor every morning. There was rat droppings on the dining table and kitchen counters! They ruined all the fruit we brought. We did not have the stomach to cook at the house or eat off that the table. The rats ruined all the fruit we brought. We ate every meal out. There was trash at the street when we arrived and it was still there when we left (5) days later. Our one bag of trash was put in a container on the property.

The house was as advertised. All had a good time.

Beach access was great. We enjoyed the pool and the fire pit. The layout of the house was good. The cookware was not in great shape and we could have used a few more skillets. The most annoying thing was the property management. I received many messages trying to upsell beach equipment, golf carts, and extra days of rental. I won't choose it again because of their nagging and not accepting OneKey cash.

Very nice home! Beautiful views of the beach! The pool was amazing! Plenty of room for the family!

Location was everything on this rental! Beautiful location overlooking the beach and just a short walk away from the shore which was perfect for our family, where we spent most of the days. That being said, amenities were far below par in the home, and the entire home lacked attention to detail. The home is beautiful, but when you get down and start to use things, you realize everything is barely hanging on, loose shower faucet handles, room door handles falling off. Master bathroom leaks water under the shower door. Some of the finish nails stick out on top of the stairs, so they stab your foot if barefoot. There was no soap in one of the bathrooms, broken blinds all over the home, and stains on some of the sheets. One of the bathrooms downstairs is so badly placed that you cannot even sit correctly on the toilet but have to use it while sitting completely sideways. Pool looks dingy and has a large crater in the middle that seems to be patched up. We also found 3 giant roaches during the stay, with one waking up my wife at night as it crawled on her face. All that being said, we still had an amazing time, and our family made the best of the stay.

Property location is absolutely beautiful! The beach was so pretty and beach access was great. Cons: the minute we walked in we could tell the floors had not been swept & house was not in a clean shape. There were dead roaches on the floor and live ones running in & out of the kitchen cabinets. There is black mold in one of the bedroom closets & all of guests were sick starting Saturday afternoon until now. The freezer ice making was taped with medical tape and kept getting caught when we’d open the freezer. It would take 1 person to hold the broken shelf up while another person opened the freezer. The fireplace leaked water as soon as it started raining Sunday morning. I contacted the company as soon as we checked out & let them know about all of these concerns but I have not heard back. Very disappointing

We had a family Labor Day stay. Love that each bedroom had its own bathroom. Definitely enough beds. The beach was so accessible and you could see from the house everything going on at beach. Having a private beach was amazing. Communications w host was excellent. The kitchen is small and a little dated. Could have a better cleaning in cabinets and drawers.

Perfect! We enjoyed the beach and the private pool. Wonderful stay.

We were very satisfied with this property. It was a family trip and everyone had their own room with restroom and it accommodated everyone. Having the pool was a plus! We will definitely be staying here in the fortune.

This property worked so well for our family. We had the absolute best time! The house is well stocked with everything we needed and they even have beach items to use during your stay. The highlight for our little kids was definitely the pool! It was so nice after beaching to come and shower off and hop in… even the people staying next door asked us questions about the house because they were so jealous about the pool. It was a a great house, perfect for our family vacation! We will definitely be staying again in the future!!!

Beautiful home and location. The view is wonderful and RIGHT on the beach. Having a pool is such a huge plus and hard to beat. The home inside is very updated and clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be back!

Amazing!!! The house was perfect, plenty of room for our group of 13 and our dog too!! The pool and all the areas outside were perfect and the beach right in front with private walkover....that set this property apart from the others we've used in the past!! We've been coming to Galveston for 4 years now with our family, this years trip was a blast at this house!!! We will definitely be booking again next year!!! And they have awesome communication, very helpful and friendly!!! Thank you so much Beach Box!!!

Overall the stay way nice, and kids had fun

Beach house is in a great location and accurate to the photos of the property. Went with wife and kids to get away from work and the everyday routine. Couldn't have picked a better week to enjoy the warmer weather and sunshine. Couple of comments for the property manager is to ensure windows get cleaned before the next guests arrive. Allow thermostat to be lowered a few extra degrees, as rooms are not being cooled equally and upstairs got a bit hot. Both upstairs showers leak badly from the bottom of shower door. Roach traps need to be placed discreetly around the kitchen and living room. Overall we enjoyed our stay and our boys loved the pool and easy beach access. Thanks!

Location and access to beach is fantastic. Quiet, few people. The house was nice. The only downside is the air return is in the downstairs bedroom with the bunk beds and if you close the door it is very loud. So you either have to keep the door open (not ideal for kiddos at bedtime) or just don’t use that bedroom. Otherwise, the house was comfortable and everything worked.

The beach was nice and quiet. On either side was a drive on beach. I saw several cops patrolling the beach. The house was great but could really use a deep clean. I had trouble opening the lock box open arrival. I was able to call and speak with a person. It was resolved quickly. The garage bays are really tight due to the house stilts. The driveway is very short. Parking 6 cars would be very tight. Love that each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The pool was nice. Overall a great stay!

My family had an excellent time at this listing. It’s a quick walk to the beach from the home. Plenty of sleeping space , communication with property manager was very quick. We will be planning another beach trip and this location in the future

The house was perfect for my family. Living room was large enough for all of us to late night board games. Kitchen was great. I cooked dinner 3 of the nights and had plenty of prep and cooking space. My only criticism would be the room with the 4 beds was configured pretty tight. Leaving it hard to get to the closet. Other than that had the most beautiful views and perfect walking distance to the beach. Highly recommend.

Pool for kids was a hit. Sleeping arrangements worked out for our families, each family had a room of their own. Would of prefer a larger coffee pot as we are all coffee drinkers. Couldn't find spatial for cooking. Other than that, everyone enjoyed the stay.

The property quality is very good. Didn’t like the roach droppings in the some of the cabinets, the one cockroach we saw, the couple of butter smeared plates etc. The ceiling was apparently under repair as several large Sheetrock sections were without covering

A really nice house, if somewhat neglected. A fabulous location, and great sleeping accommodations. It was well stocked and had a firepit and pool. Sadly, the weather didn't cooperate enough for the pool. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was it was badly in need of some maintenance and a little lacking in cleaning. With that it would be just the perfect spot for a family beach vaca. We enjoyed our stay, but couldn't help feeling like it could be so much more with just a little more attention.

View of Gulf was great. Very private beach. House was comfortable and clean. Better suited for large groups. Many beds but no nightstands or much room to move around in bedrooms other than master. Bring your own beach chairs as none Provided by house. Most restaurants and larger grocery stores are at least 20 mins away. Suggest a light be put at bottom of stairs where lockbox is. Difficult to see at night. Otherwise very relaxing trip.

This was by far my favorite trip to Galveston. The owner was super easy to talk to and he was very accommodating. The house is in the best location. It housed our party of 10 comfortably. The pool and fire pit really set this property over the top!

The property is great but needs a great deal of maintenance. It looks as if it is run by a property group and not by an individual who might see to the maintenance. I loved the place but would not go back without being assured that the problems we sent to Russell Griffin were taken care of.

We had 7 adults and the property was a perfect size for us. The beds in every room were comfortable and each bedroom had a bathroom. We could all get together with plenty of room on the deck, in the kitchen and dining area and in the living space. It was easy to get to the beach and we loved the pool. It was a wonderful weekend. Owner communication was great. *Note: the kitchen is adequately stocked with dishes and appliances but bring your own ice, salt/pepper, condiments, etc. There is some sheetrock damage and damage to the wooden bridge; I assume that is due to the recent hurricane.

Would be 10 out of 10 if we'd known the garage doors were damaged due to the hurricane and that the parking wo garage damage does not accommodate full size trucks I recommend they put this in the house description. Aside from that it was cozy while still having hurricane damage to the cielings and moisture damage that was definitely odiferous. Wonderful other than the unexpected

A few things were broken, however with the recent storm we are Thankful you allowed our vacation. Planning around 2 college kids a kiddos still at home it was challenging to pick these dates.

Had low expectations for this vacation spot because a hurricane had ripped through Houston just a few weeks earlier. turned out to be a perfect spot for a week getaway with a family of 6 adults and 3 children under 10! Beautiful oceanfront property, as described! Kids loved the pool. Affordable. About 25 min away from Galveston restaurants, Walmart, Kroger. Otherwise not much nearby- a great quiet getaway. Each room has a bathroom, it was clean and pretty. There was some drywall that had gone up to repair issues after the storm- didn’t bother us too much. Downside are the flies and mosquitoes - bring bug spray!
