My wife, my 2 dogs and I stayed at this property for 4 days and we loved it! Definitely more house than we needed but we really wanted to be oceanfront and it was so worth it! My dogs loved exploring the beach at low tide. This property is minutes from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia and we had no problem finding our way around. Nicole, the host, was amazing and more than accommodating when we had to change our plans last minute. Would highly recommend staying here if you plan to explore Bar Harbor and Acadia.
Amazing location! Easy access to park and Bar Harbor but still feels very private. Would highly recommend renting kayaks. Host is very responsive. Would absolutely stay again.
We had THE most wonderful time! We saw seals and fish and bald eagles and two mink all while just relaxing on the dock and beach and around the firepit! Everything was just top notch! My husband and I (the grandparents), our daughter, her husband, and our three curious and nature loving granddaughters (7,8,9) did some hikes and many of the touristy things but we all agreed that the house and grounds and beach had so much to explore that we were very happy just being there! Linens and supplies were abundant! We just didn’t want for anything! We’ve already told all our friends about this wonderful place! Thank you thank you for sharing your treasure!
Such a beautiful home and in a stunning location. The weather wasn’t the greatest but we still had tons of fun. This house is in the perfect location and gives you an amazing view. Nicole was super helpful.
Everything was perfect for our family vacation. Will definately go back.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The grounds were beautiful and it had an incredible view of the bay. The main house was very clean and comfortable. Additionally, the host took the time to prepare a detailed booklet to provide us with information about things to do in and around Bar Harbor. This information definitely gave us a better overall experience. Many thanks to the host for the extra efforts to provide a comfortable and enjoyable vacation!!!
The location was great to explore all of MDI or just relax and enjoy the views. The views of the water were fantastic. Everything was as described. Only suggestion was info about the dehumidifier in the guest house—didn’t realize there was one until day before leaving. Everything was comfortable and was a good size for extended family. Nicole had stocked all necessities which made everything easier. We all enjoyed our stay very much and would return. Thank you Nicole. It was everything we hoped for and more!
We had the best week at this home! It’s close to everything, but feels very secluded and private. We would definitely stay here again. Do not hesitate to book!
Property location was wonderful. The entire family loved the visit We stayed in the guest house and our kids stayed in the larger house with our infant grandson. It was a perfect set up for us. We rented kayaks and enjoyed them on the days the weather cooperated. Sunsets were beautiful from the property and we enjoyed the fire pit several times this week. Overall we highly recommend staying at this property.
Our family raved about this property the entire week. The listing photos don't do the sunset views, beach, or house justice. What an amazing location with awesome beach access much of the time (except during high tide) and awesome views all the time. We saw seals and harbor porpoise from the dock, and loved watching the different sunsets each night. The house was also great inside. Nicely organized, with everything we needed to cook and serve meals for 8 people. Spacious shared living space, with the bonus of the extra suite in the out building that was perfect for our family with an infant. I also appreciated the welcome packet and useful information, especially for easy kayak rentals (dropped off and picked up at the property with no hassle) and recommendations on grocery stores, hikes, and more. This property is about 10 minutes outside of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, and though it is next to a larger beach-side cottage facility, we felt secluded the entire week. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
Amazing view, great property, wonderful location outside of town, but still super accessible. Everything was awesome and the photos only tell part of the story. The main house is all one level and very open. We had a family of 5 and family of 3 traveling together. The 5 stayed in the main house and the 3 stayed in the cottage. Four kids ages 6-11 and all had plenty to do. Everyone had lots of space. We were able to share the main house kitchen and living areas comfortably. The outside space is fantastic with gorgeous sunrise and sunset views. You can see seals and porpoises from the yard and catch crabs from the dock... Likely some fish too but we didn't bring any fishing gear - closest place to get any is the Walmart in ellsworth. Local restaurants are pricey but enjoyable. Geddys was great for the kids. Popovers at the Stadium were excellent if you don't want to fight thru the Jordan pond house. We biked acadia, hiked, whale watched, diver Ed's, shopped in town, drove down to bass harbor lighthouse (walk the trail *and* the paved path in opposite directions.. Great views). All worth it. Note on the whale watch - soooo many pukers. Thankfully not us. The walgreens in town had dramamine and walgreens brand bonine but bring some if you can. We were medicated and mostly good on some rocky seas. Captain warned everyone several times, but everyone decided to stay on board and go on the trip. Guaranteed dozens regretted it. Also - dress in layers and bring more clothes than you need. We are new englanders and were in long pants, hoodies, jackets and some were still a little cold. That being said, we saw 3 whales, a bald eagle, about a hundred dolphiny things, and some seals. Good stuff. Diver Ed's is ridiculous but fun. Back to the house... The views are unbeatable. 2 staircases (20 steps or so total) down to the rocky shore. Lots of seaglass. We brought the kayaks and paddleboards down and checked things out a bit. Top of cadillac mountain is awesome. If you don't know about the national park passport program, check it out at the Hulls Cove visitors center and then get your passport stamped. The kids loved it and are excited for future travels. Can't wait to come back to bar harbor and would return to this property in a heartbeat. Some extra things to pack - tupperware/ziplocs if you're a leftovers family, seasonings, grab firewood when you get there, a flashlight, and you're good to go. Have fun!!
The house and cottage are off the beaten path yet conveniently close to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and Ellsworth. The beach is beautiful and the house large enough that 6 adults and a dog had space to spare.
