Great beach house

Nice walk to beach. Great view.

The home was beautiful and cozy. Great for large families. My only complaints would be that 3 of the doors would not lock at all. The WiFi only worked in some areas and the beds were very hard. But the home itself was very well decorated and updated.

We had a great stay at this house. Loved that it was close to the beach, not too crowded. It was also nice that it was near the end of a not so busy street. Outdoor shower and outdoor water faucets at every level were nice and handy. It also has great view.

The property was great, would highly recommend! Great views, an elevator to move luggage, groceries, etc. without having to lug up multiple flights of stairs, and easy beach access. The only minor issue we had all week was the WIFI was spotty throughout the week.

Our family spent a week at Captains Quarters and could not be happier. The home is well maintained with anything you might need to enjoy a week at the beach. The beach access was a huge win with a few steps directly onto the beach. The views from all the porches were incredible! We love that our family had room to spread out but also a common space large enough for us all to connect. We already booked for next year!

The house was large enough for my family. The beach access is in the back yard--lots of stairs but nice and close. My family enjoyed using the outdoor shower. The house rules said we could get in after 5pm--which is really late to start with, but we couldn't actually enter the house until 6pm (and my kids forced the issue). The house was not well-cleaned, and Vacasa immediately offered to send the cleaning crew back in when I reported it. The laundry lines on the downstairs balconies were great. WiFi was weak or non-existent, so we couldn't work from the house. The Food Lion grocery store and other shops are right across the street. Overall, Avon is less touristy than the northern towns on OBX. The Independence Day fireworks were terrific--we watched them from our deck.

Had a wonderful stay. The house is right on the beach, and you can see the ocean and the stars at night and witnessed some awesome thunder storms as well- very cool. Lots of windows, nice deck, comfortable furniture and beds. The house could use a bit of updating, but that did not bother us at all. The only thing about the actual house that did both us was that the Wifi was open (no password) and my wife had to work the first week so it was not secure. We asked them to fix it and they did not. Vacasa has an issue with having the wrong door codes every time we have used them and after traveling for 20 hours to get there late at night, it was not amusing the second time. Location of the house was perfect- right across from Food Lion, etc but the beach was very secluded and quiet. Also loved being in south Avon since Hatteras was 5 minutes away. The only thing I did not like about the location was that the beach has a steeper slope in that area and as a result, the waves dump right onto the sand, making boogie boarding, surfing or body surfing impossible unless you like being slammed on hard sand. Being a big fan of body surfing, we had to drive to another beach to do that. I would definitely recommend the house though.

We have rented many beachfront houses in Avon, but when I saw the words luggage lift on the description I was sold. Carrying luggage and household goods up 3 flights of stairs is usually exhausting! Thank you so much! The views were SPECTACULAR. The beach is a little eroded at this particular spot, but I spent most of my time on the deck with my feet on the railing. We were so lucky the weather was perfect all week . . . sunny every day and mid 70's. Plus . . . and a big plus for my husband, is the fact that so many houses now have streaming only tv but this one said cable and it did not lie (like so many others have) so we were able to get live tv, news, shows he wanted, and everything. I know you do not come to the beach for that but it was especially refreshing to not have to deal with streaming only service. Thanks Captain's Quarters, it was awesome!
