I’ve stayed here multiple times and it’s always beautiful. Walking distance to downtown with a view that cannot be beat!
Exactly as described - great layout and views, especially from the 3rd floor, close to water, short walk to town, great location to explore the area. Note: as described, the stairs are very steep and would not be appropriate for someone with limited mobility.
Spacious apartment, centrally located.
it’s a very nice duplex on the 2nd and 3rd floors. the 1st floor has permanent occupants. Occasionally we could smell cigarette smoke filtering up though the floors or walls. Considering the age of the house it’s understandable that the 2 units aren’t sealed off from each other. The house rules state no smoking anywhere on the property. Granted, we think we may have also smelled wood burning fireplaces in the neighborhood or even perhaps the Canadian wildfires. It wasn’t bad, but can’t give a 5 star rating because of it.
The views from the top floor are fabulous! This is a wonderful spacious apartment, which is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a very well maintained and charming 1870’s home in a lovely neighborhood. It has lots of windows, is bright, comfortable and very clean. The pictures in the listing are very accurate. The top floor has a master (king bed) and a single bed in an adjacent room (no doors between them) and a 3/4 bath. Everything else is on the 2nd floor. We did not cook while we were there, but the kitchen is a good size and it seemed to be well stocked. There is a full sized washer and dryer that would be great for beach towels. The owners live on the bottom floor and Paul greeted us and let us in the first night. He kindly provided us with maps and brochures. The only negative was a little cigarette smell, probably from a previous tenant. Overall, I really liked this house and recommend it!
Great home with gorgeous scenic views! Quiet neighborhood, comfortable space to spread out and not be on top of each other, and very comfortable beds and pillows.
The view is amazing and the apartment is comfortable. I love it!
Great central location to everything. My only recommendation would be to either flip the mattresses or change them out. There were some divots and lumps that need to be worked out. Other than that perfect place to stay!!!!!
The hosts were very welcoming and nice. The house is very neat and clean, the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and cookware (perfect for making meals for our kids), and close to downtown Rockland shops and a small beach where we could watch boats in the harbor. We were there during the heatwave so the ACs were a big plus and kept us cool. The location was central for us and were able to do day trips to Camden/Rockport, Mount Battie, Boothbay Harbor, Birch Point/Owl's Heads, and Popham Beach. Highly recommend this place!
Beautiful house, very well equipped. The owners are living below and were extremely welcoming and helpful. Wonderful light in all the rooms and a very nice view from the last floor. We enjoyed all the varied activities we had from this beautiful base in Maine.
