Ocean-view, family-friendly, walking access to charming town and marina

Excellent place to stay. House was very nice and clean. Enough space for big family. Close to the beach and a lot of restaurants. I will recommend.

We enjoyed our time so much staying at this beautiful home! The area is perfect for walking distance to anywhere in town, the house was spacious and we utilized many amenities. Overall the home was very clean and family-friendly.

We had a wonderful New Years at the Crazy Bird! Location was perfect for walking to shops and restaurants. The updated Kitchen and Media room were a hit for our group. We enjoyed the card and board games that were provided. The kids enjoyed having their own space while the adults were playing games. The deck off the kitchen is a perfect place for morning coffee or afternoon nap. Everyone in our group was very pleased with how clean everything was. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This is a lovely home within walking distance of the quaint downtown of Southport with many cute shops and delicious restaurants. The upstairs balcony off the kitchen is a great place to sit in the morning sun and enjoy the view of the harbor.Of note, the kitchen, dining area, and play station / TV room are all on the second floor, along with the master bedroom with en suite bathroom and a half bath near the kitchen. The first floor has three bedrooms, two bathrooms (including a jacuzzi!), laundry and a coat / game closet. What was missing for us was a living room or family room.Communication with the owners was prompt and helpful.

Since there are no closets available for guest, hang hooks on back of doors and/or have luggage racks available. There was no toiletries in upstairs bathroom. Reword room/beds available. We thought we'd get a room with 2 double beds not a trundle bed that adults have to climb over.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay and enjoy Southport.Beautiful house with everything we could possibly want.It was an easy and lovely walk to town.Had fun riding the bikes too.Enjoyed our first experience grilling on the Big Green Egg. The community pool was lovely.We enjoyed watching boats from the porch.We will definitely be coming back.

Great stay! Media Room has a great leather couche-- and we liked the glass doors to close it off to enhance the movie experience :) Loved the location, and all the enhancements the owners keep putting in-- we definitely plan to return!

This was hands down the most unsanitary and unkempt property I've experienced through Vrbo.com. The house is obviously beimg remodeled and should not have been made available. However, the obvious stains from sexual intercourse, non-working lights, missing door knobs and handles, used washcloth hanging over the door, pet hair and /or dust clumped across the headboard, false representation of amenities and just the complete disregard for the decent cleanliness was more than we could stomach. This home should not be on VRBO at present. We reached out to the owners and received NO reply. The pictures tell about half of the story. It would only allow 8. Stay away! Disgusting.

Our family vacation at the house was an absolute blast! We had a fantastic time with 8 people. There was so much to do - we spent our days relaxing on the beach, taking a dip in the pool, exploring the town, finding great places to eat and finding some time to just chill and unwind. It was a perfect blend of excitement and relaxation!

We stayed for a week with our family and our teens brought their friends. The accommodations more than met our needs, the beds were comfortable, the pillows were soft, the kitchen stocked with all kinds of spices and we loved the porches. Our teenagers did not complain once of being bored and we had 6 between the ages of 14 and 16. They didn’t even play on their phones until bedtime haha! The pool, walk to town, walk to marsh, fire pit and swing kept them busy and we spent so much time in together at the pool which felt private most of the time. We thought no living room would be a challenge, but the porches suited us all well! The host were fast to respond and compassionate as we had a few small challenges pop up. Two things to note the internet is a little slow if you need to work or write a college paper, but it is a vacation so we didn’t really care haha! Only the Owner Bedroom has a tv, again no problem our teens bought a projector and put movies on the white fence outside and watched with a the fire which was way better anyways. Great place, just do it, book the house and get ready for a great week! Thank you Patrick and Carrie for going above above and beyond for our family!!

It was beautiful house and lots of appliances and just very clean and the beds were very comfortable and Patrick and Carrie are awesome they told us everything we needed to know about our stay!

Very nicely equipped property (Big Green Egg, firepit, great bathrooms throughout, etc) with fantastic location-- we walked to dinners, into town, for coffee, and all along the waterfront drinking in the beauty of the area! It was cool to check-out high-end appliances like the SubZero fridge and Cove dishwasher too. Talked with the owners and know the Media Room renovation is under contract and we're excited to see that improvement-- we'll definitely be back!

I was going to give our stay 3 stars because it is conveniently located and while we had some disappointing things happen during our stay, we enjoyed Southport and were willing to overlook some of the oddities of the place. However, after having numerous issues with the kitchen appliances, the owner has decided to charge us for the electrician visit which they are claiming was caused by something we did. It all started with no water coming out of the kitchen faucet and after contacting the owners were told it's likely the batteries needing to be replaced. After running to the store and paying 32 for batteries (which they never offered to reimburse), we had a working faucet. That was just the beginning of the issues (no power to the dishwasher, garbage disposal button not operational) and after all of it, they charged us. In addition, there is no living area to speak of and from the online pictures this was not evident. There is the kids area which has block seating that is very hard to sit on and uncomfortable. Not to mention the carpet in that room was VERY dirty and we found a fake fingernail in the carpet making us wonder if it's vacuumed. There is not a single sofa to sit on so when hanging out and talking, we had to sit on the hard chairs in the dining room or squeeze into the uncomfortable kids room. There are plenty of options for places to stay in Southport so I would not waste your money staying here.

We loved our weekend at Crazy Birds! We stayed there for a wedding and it was the perfect house for our needs. So close to everything in Southport and the amenities were great. Would stay again!

As a travel professional with over 30 years in the industry I would NOT recommend this rental. While accurate about the amount of bedrooms/baths, the media room is the size of a walk in closet and the stadium seating amounts to 2 big framed in steps covered in carpet that is horribly stained. The view from the kitchen is marred by a huge hole in the screen that one would guess was chewed by a dog given that a large dog chew was left laying on the door mat. The key pad is located on the back door which requires you to traipse through the grass due to no walk way. The back door is blocked by a curiuosly placed porch swing that one has to navigate around to even reach the door. When we arrived we contacted the Host and advised that not having a space where we could all sit together other than the kitchen was going to be a deal breaker. We were told the description showed that there was no traditional living room/den. The description at that time did not disclose this information. I did however find it among the review complaints. I would think having the info the description vs defending it in bad reviews would be more ideal.In the end, we chose not to stay and rented another property a few streets over that met our needs, was beautiful appointed and was half the price of the original rental.

We enjoyed our stay so much! The place was perfect for our family for our daughter's wedding. We wanted a place where her bridesmaids could stay with us and get ready before the wedding. The view was gorgeous and the location was perfect for getting to the venue within 2 mins. Thank you and hope to stay again sometime!

We were in town for a wedding and enjoyed our stay. The hosts are very nice and responsive. The condo is in a perfect location and you can walk to shopping and restaurants. We were surprised that there is not a living room or den so the gathering space is around the kitchen table or porch. It would be helpful for some of the closets to be unlocked for guests because we didn’t have a place to hang up clothes.

Good: Beautiful home. Great location. Easy to rent. Bad: -Beds: Awful. Felt like sleeping on a cardboard box. Didn't get one good nights sleep even after 10+ hours of non-stop tournament fishing 3 days in a row. Pillows are thin and useless. I feel like a zombie as I type this. (Lost all the stars due to this mainly) -Shower: Hot water lasts 5min if you use more than one shower head at the same time. Isn't one of the points of having multiple heads, to use them? -Towels: Not enough towels. Notes: Bring your own pillows, bring your own towels. Don't let children shower in the master shower and turn on the steamer. It can severely burn you when it shoots water out randomly so keep your feet up when it starts. If they fixed this stuff, I'd love to rent here again, otherwise I'm trying a different home.

It was short stay but very good. Our family of 13 had plenty of space for everyone. Host was great,we would definitely book again..

We really enjoyed our stay at Crazy Birds again. We cooked several times and had adequate supplies and dishes. Loved the kitchen appliance upgrades. Looking forward to seeing the renovation on the media room!! The only issue we had was the cleaning service forgot King sheets for our bed. However, after contacting the owner, we had sheets the next morning. They were quick to respond. Thanks for beautiful memories made. Until next time!!!
