Oakland West - Windermere, Sleeps 14

Absolutely super property. The living space for entertaining 14 guests was fabulous. We hired a private chef one evening and the layout open plan kitchen diner worked very well. A memorable night for us all. The sitting room seated 12 comfortably and the wood burner was super efficient and made the dark evenings very cosy. In terms of location it’s a short walk into Windermere town and a handy location for going off biking. Orrest head and lots of walks just out of the door. All bedrooms were styled nicely and comfortable and clean. We liked the fact it’s set in a quiet location with great views and felt very private.

We had a great Christmas stay at Oakland West. It’s a house where you can get together but also have privacy - perfect for mixed aged family groups. All the bedrooms are excellent, which is rare. We will definitely be staying again.

We absolutely loved it, beautiful house, amazing kitchen that allowed us to cook great meals in a lovely kitchen where we were all together! The lounge was fabulous in the evening with the fire lit and the tree lights twinkling. We loved it!! Ross was lovely, he knows why,I don’t hesitate to recommend this property and this company, I’m sure me and my 8 crazy girlfriends will return

A beautiful property in a lovley location walkable to Windermere. The house was really comfortable and the lovely huge kitchen diner was the centre of the home. The bedroom’s were all beautiful and en-suite bathrooms a treat. It was well equipped with plenty of pots, pans and utensils. The fire doors were very heavy to open especially for the older members of our party. The garden was great Fi the dogs once we had temporary fixed the gaps, it would have been perfect if this was fixed by the owners. All in all a fabulous location and property with everything you could need.

The views were gorgeous. It’s a great house for a gathering - lovely kitchen & dining space. The kitchen was well equipped and the two fridges and dishwashers make everything easier when catering for a larger group. The bedrooms were all nice - great having all en-suite. Our only comments would be that a couple of the mattresses were a bit soft, perhaps needing renewed. It would be great to see more with extra-kingsize beds - i’m sure that the rooms are big enough. The Loft room was great for parents with small children. We’ll return here quite happily.

We had the best stay at Oakland West with our extended family for a l wedding. The bedrooms are a great size, the kitchen spacious and well equipped and the living rooms were just prefect. Loved the garden too. Tarn and Fells were very much on the ball and very responsive to our every request.

This is a brilliant property for family gatherings. It’s our third stay here and won’t be the last. Perfectly located at the top of Windermere, with a great walk up to Orrest Head on the doorstep. The facilities in the property are good, and Ross at Tarn & Fell escapes is good at communicating. No hesitation in recommending.

Great to have 6 en-suite bedrooms. The downstairs bathroom to bedroom 5 was a little awkward but they managed. Great dining kitchen and outdoor dining options for a party of 13 with two bbqs. Two dishwashers and fridges was brilliant. Great views. Not too far to walk into Windermere either. Good parking for our four cars too. Excellent customer service from Ross of Tarn and Fell escapes. And also two sitting rooms! Could not ask for a better house for our large family. The fire doors took some getting used to. We all loved the wool stair carpet too! Oakland West was the perfect place for our family holiday we can't recommend it highly enough! Spacious and comfortable to accommodate us all with beautiful outdoor space and views.

Very spacious and extremely well equipped accommodation, especially the kitchen. With 3 generations in the same house there was lots of space for all, including the space for 6 cars. Having an enclosed garden worked very well with 3 dogs and young children. The location was perfect to walk onto the hills without having to cross the main road. Will definitely return in the future!

Lovely location with amazing views down to the lake. Worked so well for a large family get together. Very comfortable and clean. Windermere and the lakes generally have so much to do. The weather could have been better.

What a beautiful house, we have just had the best family weekend staying at Oakland West. It was perfect, the house has everything you need and more, very spacious, you dont feel on top of each other the bedrooms are all a decent size and very well equipped, the beds are the most comfortable Ive ever slept in. the garden is gorgeous with beautiful views. Ross is amazing, very kind and responsive, we cant wait to go back I would highly recommend this house.

We had an amazing weekend at Oakland West. Location is relaxing and quiet while you're still walking distance from the town. Ross was amazing and very responsive. Will highly recommend.

Ross and his team were absolutely superb in all ways, helpful, great communications and the property was everything it portrayed to be.
