We loved our stay at Notting Hill Cottage. It was nice to have a few extra touches such as coffee and creamer set out to use, and chips and popcorn goodies on the table. It was quiet with a beautiful deck and we really enjoyed the hot tub. It is a secluded area, so know that before you go. We got dinner at Von Jakob Winery the first night which was good and we drove to Giant City Lodge for our second dinner (about 30 minutes away). Breakfast was in Cobden at the Iron Whisk which was excellent! Or you can bring your own groceries in and cook in the well supplied kitchen! (just not my choice!) The cottage is roomy and the bed was very comfortable. It is well taken care of and clean. The owners were very good about communicating with us. All in all, it was a wonderful two days away from home! We will certainly be back for another stay!

An adorable house with a large, fenced backyard for our pups. It was heavenly! The property was close to everything southern Illinois has to offer - college, parks, wine, small towns. Clean house, comfortable beds, great amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Quaint and cozy cottage as described. Easy to find, ample parking. Great not to be able to see any neighbors. Easy drive to Town and local winery's. Rear of cottage was all glass sliding doors with beautiful sunrise through the trees. New hottub was a big plus plus

Accessing the property was very easy. Perfect amount of space for the two of us. Well controlled HVAC, never cold or hot, just right. Deck was very spacious, quiet, sitting on it relaxing was great. Hot tub being sunken into the deck was great as in February could get pretty chilly out, so sitting down in it, kept it perfect for hours.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and very cozy!! Check in was at 4:00 and a breeze to get in. It was clean and the hot tub was a great bonus!! We loved our stay. We toured the Cross of Peace around the corner from us, enjoyed the Alto winery and Orchards. Lots to do in a small town. We rode our bicycles one evening and loved looking at the countryside. Great little getaway for us. Thanks for being great hosts.

The property was as described and clean! There are a few extras that were wonderful, coffee, sugar, and bug spray! It is located near wineries and hiking. Hot tub was great after long hikes. We did not realize it was pet friendly which caused our allergies to act up but that was our fault for not reading closely.

A friend and I and our sons (who are BFFs) booked this home as a little spring break getaway, to get our city kids out into nature. It was perfect. The area is beautiful, and the house is so charming. We spent time hiking in Giant City State Park and Shawnee, relaxing in the hot tub, and just enjoying our time together. The house is really nicely set up for a family or a small group. The boys, who are 10 and 11, were obsessed with the loft area. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunrise our last morning, and all the stars we could see both nights. The hosts were helpful and friendly. The beds were comfy, and the WiFi was speedy enough for what little screen time the boys needed. My son is already begging to go back, and with all the wineries and orchards nearby, I imagine we’ll be visiting again soon! Thank you!

As a quick summary - my fiancé and I planned a long weekend to celebrate my birthday and to do our annual planning. We’ve stayed before in 2022 and had a good stay but this one was just not it. Issues:- check in was Friday 1/10 on Wednesday 1/8 I hadn’t heard anything from the host so I reached out. I had concerns since area had lost power earlier that week and offered to reschedule if needed. Host confirmed all was fine. We did end up checking in a day early due to additional snow coming. - WiFi didn’t work at all. I told the host this 1/9 and had to reach out through 1/11 for updates. Having to continue to reach out, send pictures of router, etc was inconvenient. Also we would have rescheduled if we had known this was an issue upfront. -DVD player also didn’t work and we let the host know-ended up leaving 1/11 instead of our check out on Monday 1/13 because I was spending more time reaching out to the host and trying to fix the internet vs our plans. Let the host know and completed all check out duties prior to check out time. Didn’t hear from them until later that day. I did ask for a refund of remaining two nights due to wifi issues causing us to leave early. I hadn’t heard anything so reached out again on 1/24 and haven’t heard back.
