My husband and dog and I just got back from a beautiful long weekend. The house was clean and fully stocked with dish wear, spices, keurig coffee, Pam cooking spray, toiletries, just wonderful. The view was STUNNING!! Fire pit was so much fun to use and we wished we rented a boat, next time! The neighborhood was quiet and so peaceful and beautiful to walk around. We were so sad to leave. We can not wait to come back ?
We decided to try lake living this year instead of going to the beach. The entire family LOVED it. Stay Lake Norman makes everything so easy. We had our boat docked when we arrived for check in. The house was just as promised. It’s nestled in a cove off the main channel. The neighborhood was filled with beautiful properties and I loved walking every morning. Our dog loved swimming everyday and being able to bring him made the trip that much better. My only complaint was the yard was in need of TLC. We liked the wooded because it kept it cooler. We were only about 10 minutes from groceries and restaurants. We will return and use Stay Lake Norman.
Property was nice and boat ramp was in great shape. We’re avid boaters and run into ramps in poor condition often. Would definitely stay here again
Wonderful Stay! Beautiful location, loved the dock and the house was Perfect!
Overall, the house is simply okay... not absolutely amazing but not terrible either. I would not say it is luxury nor would I stay here again. For the price, after taxes and fees, we were quite disappointed once we arrived. Basically, the photographer did a great job taking photos when originally posting on vrbo. Let's start with the pros: The scenery view is incredible and the lot is ideal as you have only one neighbor beside you. You have a peaceful dock to yourself which was great for fishing. The bed downstairs is comfortable; the kitchen is well equipped to cook at home. You have a great stock of starter packets for laundry, trash bags, TP which is much appreciated. The neighborhood is peaceful and we enjoyed walking our dog around. The shower pressure was good but doesn't stay hot very long. Now, the downsides, in our opinion: To pay over $300 for cleaning for less than a week (in our case) the cleaning was very poor- as in we went and got a candle and air freshener because the house smelled so musky; we had to re-vacuum and sweep once upon arrival, let's not even talk about all the spider webs and dirt walking up to the porch which tells me they don't keep the outside up kept. The tv in the bedroom downstairs never would work or connect to the internet (we never even used the bedrooms upstairs); by day two there were quite a few critters in the house crawling around; the house needs gutters; not parking in the garage is frustrating because your car gets covered in everything from all the trees above; as quests who pay to rent the house you should not have 3 lights out in the home (kitchen and bathroom area); the heat registers are dangerous if you have kids as they are just loosely sitting on top of the floor (bathroom downstairs); and it is incredibly dark outside at night…… very limited light outside near steps! As you see, more cons than pros. You are certainly paying for the view- not the home! Having a well stocked kitchen to cook was great but for the price you pay, renting a different house that is truly luxury would be the better way to go!
This was such a great location. We loved our stay and overall the house had offered a comfortable stay with plenty of room. I do think they might need new mattresses and just to pay attention to some minor things, like a curtain with a big yellow stain (looks like a dog did his business). Overall a nice vacation home.
We came to No Wake Zone for Christmas week. Overall, we had a lovely time, still there were some issues the property owners need to address, as well as a difficulty with the DACK app. We were directed to download the DACK app to navigate our stay. For the most part, it went well, until, during the last night of our stay, when we needed to contact the host, the app dumped us. No sign of our current reservation, no way to contact the host with the app. Dishwasher. We were trying to let them know that we found the source of trouble we were having with the dishwasher. We used it twice before, and noticed we needed to rewash some plates and silverware by hand since the machine did such a poor job. Looking into it on the third time, we discovered the lower rack was missing its front wheels, causing the rack to rest on the spinner/sprayer, preventing much of the load to not get washed. Downstairs larger bathroom toilet. This needs serious attention. The insides are messed up, with the flapper not sealing after a flush. Not only does the tank not fill, but water starts to rise in the bowl, which can only be stopped from overflowing by reaching down and manually shutting off the intake. Then you have to seal the flapper by hand and open the intake valve after the water goes down. Frustrating! Exterior lighting. The pathways from the house to the driveway, from the front and back of the house, have oddly shaped steps and step stones. Easy enough in daylight, but treacherous at night. We thought a few flood lights would be helpful, but only two were working. Looking closer, we saw mounts for several outdoor floodlights, but no bulbs for them. My wife slipped and nearly fell hard on the back steps next to the driveway because they are left in absolute darkness. The owners should feel motivated to have all the lights needed to see the pathways clearly at night to avoid a serious accident. On the positive side, we were delighted to find a fully set up and lighted Christmas tree on our arrival. And the wine on the bar was very much appreciated. Also, we had a nice time at the fire pit one afternoon. The location is truly ideal. This is a good property but needs a few things ironed out. And future guests I'm sure will prefer to use the app during the full run of their stay.
We loved the location and house. VERY well equipped and property management group was great.
Awesome views of the lake! Great location, Comfortable, Well decorated and very easy to relax and enjoy! Thank you!
We come every summer with friends and stay together (two families with kids). Pros: Pet friendly, house was spotless upon arrival, beds were comfortable, boat ramp on property, back deck seats 8 at the table, outdoor furniture was comfy, the management company seemed attentive. Cons: large mature trees drop huge nuts which didn’t seem like a big deal until I had 3 dents in my hood. You can’t park in the garage because it’s filled with house stuff (that could easily be organized so guests could use the garage). Garage has no electric openers! No bedroom has a ceiling fan which makes sleeping with the door closed absolutely stifling. The giant sliding door which you use over and over is old and impossible to slide (kids couldn’t even move it). The back deck was fully shaded by the trees that totally block the lake view. Not sure why there were so many flies but they made it impossible to eat out on the deck. Day 2 we had a full infestation of ants all over the kitchen. Management company text on day 1 said if we get bugs to call and they will come spray (so it’s a known issue) but I didn’t want pesticides when we have kids and our pup in the house (bought ant traps for the kitchen and put them out). Day 4 we had centipedes in every bathroom. The dishwasher rack was broken (couldn’t slide in and out) and the television wouldn’t work for kids to watch at night. Overall, it was lots of little inconveniences that added up and dampened the relaxation of our stay and the lack of attention to these types of details made everyone feel this house was very overpriced.
