Great place in a fun neighborhood!

Property was exactly as advertised. Max is excellent at communicating and helping with easy check in. It is so easy to see Seattle by public transport from here and 5 minutes walk are a great selection of shops and restaurants in a lovely safe and friendly community.

Spacious living area, helpful and welcoming host, privacy and quiet area

The owner is fantastic to work with. The area is a nice safe area. It’s a basement room so great for one person or a couple. It’s also great if your stay is just a couple days. Would recommend.

Great space, max was a great host! close to convenient amenities and public transportation

It was a different experience for us. Arrived Friday door was open and key inside. Home owners were gone until Sunday morning. Convenient for transportation by light rail. Very quiet and a good Mexican restaurant not to far away.

Very pleasant and convenient location. The host family is quite nice. Coffee shops, restaurants and public transportation are close by. The house is minutes from the international district. We slept soundly. There are several flights of stairs, so that could be a problem for someone with mobility issues.

The location is great, so close to the transit station. Max was a great host and made sure to check in about our plans and give us advise on our route after we settled in. When we want to go to Seattle to see a game, I will definitely check to see if Max's room is available.

Host was welcoming the place was clean and cute. Supper close to the light rail like a 5 min walk. Close to the red apple grocery store as well. Host was well communicated and responsive. Had a small issue with the mini fridge in the room but the host was very responsive about it and fixed it no issues. This is a great place to stay if ur traveling solo or without a car due to the convenience of the light rail. Only thing i dint love were the steps down to the room arent very “Luggage Friendly” and since this is a basement the windows didnt open which was a little down side as there was a funky smell after cleaning the fridge.

Basically a basement room with nearby bathroom and kitchen area. Whole setup very private, place clean and satisfactorily appointed. If available next periodic trip to Beacon Hill I'll be a repeat...

What a perfect cozy spot to unwind after a busy week of work before flying home the following day. Quiet and private, though mere minutes' walk to the main street and assorted shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Clean space with everything we needed and beautiful decor. Host was easy to work with, very responsive, and so kind! Neighborhood was a good location and close to the light rail, making commuting effortless.

It was a good stay for a weekend trip. The location is very convenient, less than a 5 minute walk to the Link rail in Belmont, which made getting around Seattle really easy! :)

My friend and I were in town to see Lady Gaga and Max’s place was such an easy place to stay the night. We appreciated the big mirror and all the space we used to get ready for the concert. Everything was neat, clean and as described. We also enjoyed ending our night with a movie from his DVD collection. It was close to the main downtown area near the arena and so convenient. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Max was quick to respond to all my messages and was very gracious. I was a little leery when I realized the bed was a sofa bed, but it was very comfortable!

Apt worked out perfectly-- so close to light rail and buses. So easy to navigate the city from here. Apartment is very thoughtully set up-- night lights that come on automatically when others turned off. It's a dark cool (in summer) basement apartment-- perfect for deep sleeping. I missed windows but then realized I was welcome to sit outside drinking my tea in the mornings and evenings-- amidst plants, hummingbirds and neighbors' windchimes. Good selection of books to read. Nice shower. Max kind and helpful. Highly recommend for a home away from home.

Max was really nice and easy to communicate! He even let us check in early. Short distance from the light rail. Definitely keeping this place in mind for next time.

Overall, great place to stay! Max is super communicative, answers quickly, and willing to accommodate within reason. I didn’t realize there was another private room downstairs but we never encountered anyone. I did get chased by a spider or two in the bathroom, but it’s a basement, too be expected.Easy walk to the light rail, lots of food options around. Thanks Max and family!!

My son and I flew up to Seattle to catch a Mariner’s game. The site is so centrally located, it made everything a breeze. No need for Lyft or Uber—the light rail took us everywhere we needed to go for a fraction of the cost of the alternatives. The home had everything we needed to make our visit enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Listing is accurate. I have to say that I was a little nervous about the bed, but was very pleasantly surprised! It was very comfortable. The neighborhood is walkable with a number of restaurants close by. Max is extremely responsive and communicative-- excellent host!

We were only here for a night on our way back to airport, but we were very happy with our stay! It’s just around the corner from the Beacon Hill LINK station, communication was great, and he was very accommodating of our request to drop off luggage early. Not an issue for us, but if you are traveling with bulky luggage, bringing it up and down the basement stairs could be challenging.

The good: Comfortable bed You can see that a lot of work has gone into making this a comfortable space with a lot of character. The not so good: You can see some enclosed ductwork in the photos. That is very low in places, less than 6 feet. I can see how some people find this cozy, but for taller folks or people who might feel claustrophobic, this should be pointed out.

I originally chose this location since I was going to use the light rail but plans changed and I rented a car. In any case, the neighborhood is very nice, the accommodations were great and the host was very communicative. Would choice this spot again!!

I went to 2 Baseball games rode the rail to both and super close and convenient. I then rode the rail to the airport and just as easy. Would stay here again.

The apartment is actually larger than it looks in the photos, although the configuration is a bit unusual. The bed - super comfy. There is a coffee machine, fridge and microwave. The decor is really cool, with some great looking art. The garden is lovely. The neighborhood couldn't be more convenient - light rail station is 5 min away and the market is really good, as is the local brewery. You can see the snow-capped mountains from the front garden. Max was super helpful and easy to contact. I will come back!

You really don't need a car to see the sights in Seattle. Whether you're here for a sporting event, concert, or just to breathe that Seattle air, this is a perfect location.

Max was a delight throughout the process of renting and during my stay while visiting family. The unit was clean, well maintained, and had everything I needed. He even left Hershey's kisses for my arrival! Within walking distance to restaurants and bars, and he allowed me to park my car in his driveway. I felt very safe here, thanks Max and family!

After reading previous reviews my two concerns in booking this place were the bed and potential noise from the floor above. I can say the bed was comfortable and there was very minimal noise from upstairs. One thing to note: if you have a larger body the shower will be a tight fit. This place is in a very convenient location with restaurants, groceries and the link light rail all within a short walk. I’d stay here again and recommend this place.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at this location. Host was incredibly welcoming and friendly and checked in on us regulary. He had alot of helpful local info to keep us on track. We loved the eclectic cultural decor and the cozy basement accommodations were perfect for us! We woukd highly recommend this spot amd we would love to visit again!

Throughly enjoyed my stay here! The owner was very accommodating and communication was clear and easy. The space is tastefully decorated and with nice amenities. Public transportation is just a couple of blocks away as well as the public library. Two thumbs up!

My husband and I had a great tiniest visiting Seattle. Max’s place is literally 2 min walk to the train and there are lots of eateries in the area. The space was very comfortable, perfect homemade while you’re out exploring the city. We spent 4 nights there. Loved the convenience of the train- you can take it directly from Seatac and save yourself the cost and headache of renting a car.
