Nifty Thrifty - Affordable, Comfortable, in Ideal Location!

Nice clean and quiet house with everything we needed for our weekend stay. We will be back

The host was really welcoming and responsive. They showed me the property when I checked in to ensure everything was to my liking. The house itself was super clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay at Nifty Thrifty and will keep this property in mind should we return to the area.

Ellen was very accommodating and gracious. She wants her renters to be happy. Quaint little 2 bedroom home. Enjoyed the yard furniture in the big, fenced in back yard.

Nice home, good price and lovely yard! The owner was pleasant and professional. I walked to the University of Oregon campus in about 45 minutes. Grocery stores and restaurants were just a couple of minutes away. Would definitely recommend!

This place was exactly what I wanted. Clean, cozy & conveniently located. Nothing fancy, but nice and comfortable. I loved the book selection & spent a lot of time reading in the back yard. I'd recommend it & will probably stay there again if there's an opening around the same time next year.

This was a cozy house, easy to find in Eugene, close to stores and places to eat. Ellen was super flexible amd helpful. We also especially loved the back yard.

We love that the property is pet friendly. There is a great neighborhood to walk the dog above the close and convenient grocery store, pet store, restraunts... the house was well stocked with kichen supplies and linens.

We had a wonderful time. It was so close to great restaurants and walking trails. Perfect for our family.

The host was extremely nice and responsive. The house was very clean and well appointed. It was in a good location for us.

We had everything we needed for a week long stay. Beds were comfortable. We had everything we needed to prepare Christmas dinner. The washer and dryer came in handy. It was nice to have a garage. Our Host was very nice and offered her phone number in case we needed anything. A very pleasant stay. This was our second time to rent this house for our family Christmas.

My only problem with the stay was the check-in process. I know most people appreciate the in-person hospitality but in this day and age of modern technology it felt more inconvenient than convenience. I would have rather just arrived, unlocked the door and read the rules of the house rather than having to coordinate with the owner to be let and then given a personal tour. Again I understand that some enjoy this, I’m just not that person. Maybe they could offer two types of check-ins; personal vs private. Otherwise the stay was good.

Was a great place to stay. Ellen, the owner, met us there, and showed us all the features of the house. It had a lovely, private backyard, with a table and chairs. The weather was perfect for enjoying being outside, and a short walk to restaurants and stores! Five stars all around!! I would wholeheartedly recommend it!!

The home was spotless, well-provisioned and so conveniently located! And having a garage to park in was a bonus! I hope to be back next year.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The home had everything we needed for our trip and was in a great location—right next to the Amazon Trail, which we used daily. The neighborhood felt safe and pleasant, and it was easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go in Eugene. The only small downside was a minor ant issue in the bathroom, but the owner had already provided ant killer, which helped. Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient spot.

The house in general is just okay, could be cleaner and a bug exterminator would have helped. The day we checked out, we were notified by the host that we had either lost or pulled off a rubber piece on the toilet seat lid. Of course, we knew nothing about this. The toilet itself is very small, like for a child. The host proceeded to charge us 31 for the seat. VRBO billed us twice for the seat. Overall, it was not a good experience.

The property is as advertised. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The location was convenient and walkable to restaurants, parks, trails, and stores. Parking was convenient. And the host was very responsive and helpful.

I rented this property for my son and his friend. They had an excellent stay. Amazingly quiet and comfortable considering how close it is to businesses. Very convenient access to downtown. I don't think you could find a better location for visiting Eugene.

Way beyond expectations! Delightful property and host.

Lovely updated 50s/60s home in a quiet neighborhood. Short walk to restaurants and grocery store. We really enjoyed the mature back yard with roses, grapes and fruit trees. Our host, Ellen couldn't have been more helpful and great to visit with. We would definitely stay here again.

This home was very clean, and Ellen was very responsive and helpful. The backyard was such a delight. We ate our dinner in the back beside the beautiful roses and fruit trees.

Wonderful place to stay in Eugene. Location is an easy walk to the grocery story and some restaurants. Very clean and comfortable and friendly host. The roses in the backyard were in bloom making it a perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee. Would definitely stay again.

Was met by owner who took time to show us around and how to work everything as well as the expectations. This was really just a space to crash before a day at the coast and then heading home very early the following day. Conveniently located to other family as well as amenities.Highly recommend.

Ellen communicated very well and was gracious in accommodating our request for an early check-in. The home is spacious and comfortable. Having access to the garage was an added bonus as well.

Very impressed with cleanliness and attention to details. Ellen (our host) had thought of everything we could possibly need. Her booklet for guests had lots of info about local places to meet any needs that might arise. She was quick to respond to my messages. Friendly and exceptional experience We felt right at home and were able to relax whenever we were not on the go. The bed was comfortable-just the right amount of firmness.

The house was perfect for our weekend in Eugene. The guidebook was detailed with great recommendations on things to do/places to eat. The kitchen was well stocked and the whole home was very clean. We even had some sunshine and took advantage of the patio furniture in the cute backyard.

We spent 3 nights at this property. It was like living at someone's home who happened to be away for a few days, with books on the shelves and tasteful artwork throughout the house. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare breakfast and lunch. The property has a garage which we chose to not use because of our short stay. The only negative is that the one bathroom in the house was rather small, but it had a nice new sink and was very clean.

The property was extremely comfortable very clean very very well equipped for just any other thing. Washer and dryer were excellent. House was very comfortable. Both televisions worked just fine. Microwave were good for popcorn. Next time I come to town. I hope it’s available for me to read again.

What we liked the most was the ability to walk to some great shopping options. The neighborhood was quiet and having our own space was wonderful. Ellen is a great host, easy to contact and provided immediate response to questions.

It was like being at home. Very clean and cozy. Great beds. Almost everything needed to prepare family dinners. We had a birthday party, Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day dinner. Abundant towels and bedding. Ellen let us know that she would provide anything we needed. Nine days back in my old home town with family friends. We will definitely rent again.

We were in town for a multi-venue music event. The house was perfectly located to every place we needed to be. Place was clean and well stocked with linen, towels and blankets. Blankets were good since house sleeps a little chilly in the colder months. Be sure to bring socks and slippers and your fave blankets if you get cold easy. Would have been nice to have balanced out the fact cable wasn't working in the main bedroom for one night with having 2 extra adult family members who came down for the event for 15 hours, but rules are rules. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Thank you Ellen

Super clean house, close to restaurants, and easy access to downtown Eugene. Prefect place to stay while visiting the University.

Staying at Nifty Thrifty was perfect in most every way. The kitchen has just about everything you'd need to make a fancy dinner plus a cake for dessert. We cooked as much as possible and found even the knives to be sharp (not often the case in other rentals). The beds were cozy making sleep a sure thing. We shopped at the local markets and found the bread and baked goods at Great Harvest irresistible. We enjoyed Coburg for its great antique shops, not far from Eugene and took walks at the nearby Amazon Park. So much to do and see. We will be back!
