Venice (oftenreferred to as Venice Beach) is a beachfront district on the Westside of Los Angeles, California, known for its canals, funky artist colonies, contemporary restaurants, the eclectic shops and galleries on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, boutique hotels, and of course, its beaches and the circus-like Ocean Front Walk—a two-and-a-half mile pedestrian-only promenade that features performers, fortune-tellers, artists, and vendors.
Venice of America was originally founded as a seaside resort in 1904 by Abbot Kinney, a tobacco millionnaire, then officially opened on July 4, 1905. Later, Venice Beach and its Boardwalk nurtured some of Los Angeles’ early beat poets and artists, and has served as an important cultural center since the 1960s. Abbot Kinney Boulevard is a century-old artistic neighborhood filled with trendy shops and restaurants.

A neighborhood of Los Angeles, since being annexed by the city in 1925, Venice is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the southwest, Marina del Rey to the southeast, Culver City to the east, Mar Vista to the northeast, and the city of Santa Monica to the north.

- In 2012, GQ Magazine defined Abbot Kinney Boulevard as, “the coolest block in America.”
- The iconic Venice Sign is regularly seen on national television shows and commercials, and has provided the backdrop for events such as the 50th anniversary of the Doors, and the Rams return to Los Angeles.

- Windward Plaza and the historic Venice Business District have become destination venues for broadcast events such as Ninja Warrior Competition, Tommy Hilfiger’s spring runway show, and Kevin Hart’s Nike Club Run for charity.

We stayed 7 nights with 4 adults and 2 young children. The house was perfect: clean and well equipped. Vincent is the greatest host - very communicative and responsive. We travel to LA often and will be staying there again.

Victor was incredible - super communicative and helpful, and got plumbers out immediately (even on New Years Eve!) when the plumbing backed up. The house itself was also perfect for what we needed. The living room and dining room made for plenty of space to relax and our toddler had lots of room to play and run.

The host was very helpful all along the stay. The house was clean and well maintained. There were all the things we needed for cooking and eating. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were neat and clean and well-provisioned. The living room was comfortable for watching on the large screened TV. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

We loved Victor’s house. Lovely spacious house in convenient location. The house was very clean and comfortable. The host was easy to communicate with and very helpful. We appreciated the individual soaps & shampoos, the great TVs, and outdoor dinning area. Looking forward to returning soon.

We stayed for a month after being displaced by the fires. The house is brand new and very comfortable. Plenty of storage area and no personal items in view. Minor issues with the gate, but the owner was easy to reach. It was just was exactly what we needed.

The house suited our needs perfectly. Close to Venice and Santa Monica, we were visiting family in the area and house was the perfect home base. Enough space for everyone to feel at home and quiet enough to allow us to recover after long days out in LA.The one drawback was the noise from the furnace. Seemed quite loud. Perhaps something for the owners to look into.Would definitely recommend to others looking to VRBO in the area.
