Other Things to Note:
KNOW BEFORE YOUR STAY
* For winter snow storms The View Haus recommends 4x4 vehicles with good ground clearance and deep tread snow tires and/or chairs for winter weather. There is snow plowing on the road and for our driveway, but it is done privately can take a bit of time for it to be completed so plan accordingly. The dirt road to the house can have ruts in it from rains but all vehicles with decent tires can access the house in the warm months without snow.
* Wild animals frequent the area including bears, moose, deer, elk and possibly mountain lions. DO NOT LEAVE ANY FOOD OR DISHES IN THE DOME. DO NOT USE ANY CANDLES INCENCE OR PERFUME INSIDE THE DOME. Bears could easily tear into the dome causing thousands of dollars of damage. The bears can come anytime of day and tear into anything - that includes the dome. Roll your windows up and lock your cars at night due to bears and racoons.
* Wildfire is the greatest threat to our neighborhood and the forest life. No smoking is allowed inside or outside the property. No fires outside except the gas grill and gas fireplace. No wood burning in the indoor fireplaces. Fire logs only are allowed indoors and can be purchased at several nearby stores on your way here.
* High altitude environment. Drink lots of water, drink alcohol slowly and give yourself time to adjust. Buy Oxygen cans if needed to acclimate faster and relieve any systems.
* There is no AC in the house. At this altitude temps rarely (if ever) exceed 85 degrees even in the hottest summer days. Run fans in the windows and the ceiling fans upstairs especially as night and close up the windows and shades to keep the sun out during the day. The evening always cool off as well as clouds for the typical afternoon thunderstorms in the summer. The lower level of the house is always cooler and has a bedroom, bath, TV Room and office down there.
