This four-season lakefront home is that perfect get-a-away. Large deck that overlooks the lake, hammock to relax in and big dock with fishing boat and canoe. Spring feed crystal clear water. Perfect for fishing (full of largemouth bass), swimming, canoeing, or just sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful views. This lake has no public access - the only people on the lake own homes on the lake. New Hampshire famous Antique Ally is only 3 miles away. Hampton beach is just a short 20 min drive. Downtown Boston is a easy day trip (1.5 hour drive). Close to white mountain and minutes away from trout streams. Streaming TV, High-Speed WiFi, A/C, washer/dryer, wood burning stove, fire pit, stereo on the deck, blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry bushes. We loved our stay at the lake house! The lake was beautiful and clean, the bedrooms were comfortable, and the house was well stocked with helpful items, including water toys and extra linens and towels. We also appreciated that it was dog-friendly and did not have a restrictive visitor policy, and we were able to have our pup stay with us, and have some family friends come for a beach day. The entry into the water is from a dock or a concrete boat launch, and it was great to have use of the canoe and fishing boat. There wasn't a sandy beach, but the swimming area is sandy and relatively free of weeds. The house is located on a busy road, but the speed limit is fairly low. Still, you do hear quite a bit of road noise. The lake side of the house is well separated from the road, however, and we never had to worry about our toddler or our dog wandering into the road. The house is also a close drive to Portsmouth, and we took a couple of trips into town on colder days, plus a day trip to the Children's Museum in Dover. It was great to have so many attractions nearby. The Winnie the Pooh trail is nearby and also worth checking out. We would have given our stay a 5/5, but there were a couple of issues. The listing said that there was a fire pit, but for the week that we stayed there it was missing. There were also some maintenance issues - a rickety water faucet and some broken panels on a glass bedroom door. The living room also just had two chairs, so not great for a group.
Overall we are happy with our stay!! House was very clean. There was an issue with the boat, beyond anyone's control, which was explained. Beautiful pond, great fishing, swimming, kayaking... I would stay again!!!
Had a great time. Fishing was fantastic.
We enjoy our stay It’s was a very nice cottage and we enjoyed The yard. We brought our kayak’s and did a lot of paddling and fishing my husband caught some really big bass Would love to rent again The neighbors were very nice Steve the host was always their to reply if I had a question Thank you The Dion’s
Great location on the water, everything we needed was available. Clean, comfortable cottage. Family friendly.
It took us a few days to get used to some of the working of air conditioners, the lake is very clean and we enjoyed swimming. The master bed very comfortable, Zain the maintenance guy fixed the ac in the living room perfectly. *
We really enjoyed spending time here. The house is small, but the main floor has a nice cottage feel. It was clean, bright and comfortable. The basement is a basement, but that is what we expected. We appreciated the window air conditioners during the hottest week of the year! Great neighbors and grocery store near by. We discovered The Lazy Lion restaurant as well! Best thing was being right on the water and able to enjoy the lake everyday.
My daughter, 3 year-old granddaughter and I had a great time spending a week at this cottage. There was just enough lake activity to be interesting but not overwhelming so we were able to kayak with confidence. The lake is quite small, and even a very leisurely paddle will get you once around the perimeter. The layout of the house worked well for us with the two bedrooms being separated by the living space. Do be aware that while comfortable, the recliners in the living room will only seat two or four if they really like each other. The only real downside was the very loud, busy road with no shoulder so we were not able to take any walks directly from the house. Another reviewer commented on this and while it is true that it is only a two-lane road, it is route 202 and cars and trucks are constantly speeding by at 40-50 mph. We frequently saw speed traps set up near the house and I assume the police did a good business handing out tickets. But again on the positive side, if you do get into your car, there are many short, beautiful trails nearby. My granddaughter absolutely loved the Winnie the Pooh Trail.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Steve's lakeside home. Everything was there for us to use, and it was so nice to wake up to beautiful lake views every morning. The pictures don't really do it justice - there have been many updates since those were taken. Our dog enjoyed the lake too!
We had a great time at the lake. The property is fantastic and Steve maintains it very well and is constantly upgrading the cottage and property. I have already booked a return trip!
