New clean 3-bedroom home in SW Edmonton - 15 min EIA

The description says new and clean and that each bedroom has its own bathroom in it. One room had an en suite, two shared a bathroom and the third half bath was downstairs. The ad stated that there was a second living room but basically that was a nook with a couch… No end tables, no TV etc. The dining room table top is not attached to the actual table so if you accidentally put weight on it to help you get up on the taller stools… The whole thing flipped up. I shudder to think what would happen if a child was to grab it and have it come crashing down on them. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, more like sleeping on a boxspring.. The beds were so bad that my husband and I ended up sharing the couch on the last night. The place was dirty with chunks of pet hair, dry mouldy coffee grounds in the coffee maker and towels that had obviously not been cleaned. The lighting did not work well and it was very difficult to get lights to turn off… The one in the master bedroom closet did not turn off the entire time I was there. The shared bathroom door did not lock and the tub drain was broken. The ad said that they provide coffee and tea but the only coffee was about 2 tablespoons of instant coffee in a Ziploc bag. There was no hand soap, no dish soap and no dishwasher soap so we had to go purchase all of these things. This has the ability to be a nice place and it is right across from a little area that you can pick up some essentials. If the place was clean and as advertised it could be cute.

They could use a better cleaning company. Check in says 4pm the property manager says 2pm? They lose a couple hours of cleaning this way. Very new listing and they need to work out the kinks still. Would give them a try again if the reviews say the cleaning has improved.

Small townhouse that is in a newly built area. Everything was good, minus the cleanliness of the house. The floors were very dirty, there was broken glass/bandaids under the couch and there was half eaten food in the microwave/fridge. It seems as if someone was living there 30 mins before we arrived. There was also a wasp nest under the entrance steps, which could have caused some problems. As long as the house is clean it is a good place to stay.
