Great place to stay near the beach in Carlsbad. We spent our vacation visiting family in the area and attractions, zoo, SeaWorld, tidal pools, etc.

We have stayed at this property multiple times. While not luxurious, it is very comfortable and an absolutely perfect location. You are just one property back from Carlsbad Blvd and have an ocean view from the front porch. Perfect for sunsets and walks along the boulevard to watch the surfers and listen to the waves crash.

This was our third time staying in this perfect place. We appreciate even more all it has to offer. Clarissa and Dave are super hosts indeed!

This was our second stay and so knew exactly what to expect. The location could not be better. Plenty of chairs on the patio to watch the sunset over the ocean. There is room for many more people than just the 2 of us. I spoke to the owner and was informed that even the sofa pillows are kept clean and that was really nice to know as we use them. Plenty of televisions. Once you learn how to use the thermostat, temps are very comfy. Once a screen or two are repaired, you will be able to open the doors for some nice ventilation.

This property is very close to the beach. Everything you need for your stay and the beach is there. Lots of room to spread out. Very quiet at night. Awesome place to vacation in Carlsbad CA.

Very, very cool house! Love EVERYTHING about it. It’s decor and uniqueness create an atmosphere that will stay with you and call you back for more. So close to the beach and quaint Carlsbad Village. Clarissa is such an accommodating host. We have never found anyone better. This was our 3rd time renting this home… and we’ll be back for a 4th. If you rent it, please don’t mess it up. :)

This is our second stay at Clarissa's as we have found our Carlsbad home! Plenty of room for our annual family gathering with everything we need to enjoy the house, the beach, and each other. We especially like that stairs down to the water's edge are just a block away. Thank you, Clarissa and Dave!

The Toes in the Sand Cottage was perfect for us. It was casual and comfy. The cottage had everything you could possibly need including a well stocked kitchen. To just sit outdoors on the roomy front porch chat or read a book and look at the ocean was “priceless.” Every day (sometimes 2-3 times a day) we walked to the village of Carlsbad. The area provides plenty of opportunities to walk, bike, eat or just sit on the beach. We loved it!

Outstanding in every way! We love this beach house. We are very picky about our rentals - always seeking high-level cleanliness and uniqueness. This was our second stay here and we’re coming back for more great memories next year. Clarissa (host) is extremely reachable, accommodating, and dedicated to providing a perfect “toes in the sand” experience for her guests. The only thing we didn’t like about it was having to leave.

Overall this property was perfect for our needs. The owner was available if needed. The house is very comfortable and more than adequate for 2 people. Sitting on the porch to watch the sunset over the ocean was great & such a quick walk across Carlsbad Blvd. to watch the surfers and take long walks in the morning.
