The Space:
Neutrahome is a modern desert retreat, situated next to a protected wilderness zone. A fifteen-minute walk to Coyote Hole with petroglyphs and seasonal waterfalls. The interior and exterior of the property were specifically designed to embrace the serene desert life and views. Sit back, unwind and enjoy the open desert and expansive boulder mountains facing the property by the large glass walls or in our outdoor courtyard area featuring an oversized spa. Restaurants, shops, and the main entrance to Joshua Tree National Park are all a short 2-5-minute drive away. Neutrahome has a full kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal including a brand new stainless steel french door refrigerator and induction range. Outdoor cooking is included as well with a propane BBQ grill and outdoor dining table. The house is stocked with Brooklinen luxury extra-plush towels, soft linens, and a pillow menu to ensure a proper night's sleep.

Hiking - Hidden Wonders
Coyote Hole, a sacred Native American site, is the best-kept secret of the area (only locals frequent). A gateway to tons of wonderful bouldering and day hikes. We offer personal hiking or meditation tours by locals. It’s hard not to fall in love with Coyote Hole’s towering canyon walls above its wide sandy wash. Keep your eyes out for traces of America’s past. Petroglyphs can be spotted in the canyon as well as a polished granite spillway and many beautiful geological formations from years of rain runoff. The area has very few visitors compared to the National Park and it’s easy to feel a greater sense of peace when exploring the area.

Overall, it was a place to sleep. The description of the property listed is “3 bed”. There are only two beds, and one is a detached garage from the main house. This worked okay for our family, but could be problematic if you aren’t aware prior to arrival. The instructions on how to enter the home are very unclear and confusing. The three heaters/air conditioner units had remotes that despite numerous attempts, never adjusted anything other than making it colder. The fire pit wasn’t working. Attempts to reach host during stay were unsuccessful

We loved our stay at Neutrahome. The decor and design of the house was beautiful. The freestanding apartment/bedroom behind the house was a nice feature providing privacy for each bedroom. We loved our mornings in the light-filled house reading and watching the sun rise. Cool mid century, desert vibe. A real gem!

It says it sleeps 6 but 2 of those would have to go on sofa. We were a family of 4 with young kids and the description of the property did not clarify the second bedroom is separate from main dwelling. Was a problem as our kids are young and cannot be left unattended. The pictures of the property are very generous. They portray the property as bigger as the include images of furniture moved around in different locations within the house. It also depicts the house as a stand alone house devoid of neighbours in the middle of the wilderness. They even included pictures of areas not directly next to the house that further imply the remoteness and privacy of the house in a natural setting. Instead the house is surrounded by neighbours all around, in close proximity, on a regular suburban street. Disappointing. The host then sent me pictures of item I’d forgotten, which aside from not being mine, included a bag of white powder. Not sure if he was trying to preempt my negative review or if, worse, that bag of suspicious white powder had been signing reaching/finding distance of my small children. This would also imply the property had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. Attempted to call the host. No answer as of yet.
