Not the cleanest home we have stayed in. Kitchen utensils and cooking pots very poor. AIR CONDITIONERS were HORRIBLE!
The property was quite a ways to the beach, maybe a 15 min walk with small kids and a bunch of beach gear. No beach parking sticker available so you have to walk. The house was nice but the photos in the listing do not match the actual furniture inside the house. Property manager was a pleasure to work with!
Overall our stay was good but the house needs updating. There is a leak from the ceiling which caused a couch and the entire screened in porch to be unusable. The windows have either no screens or holes in the screens which meant we couldn’t keep the windows open. It was not very clean upon arrival- coffee grinds left in pot, moldy shower curtains, chip crumbs in cabinets, etc.. Also the beach across the way was very rocky. We ended up driving 5 miles north to a nicer beach but parking was tough with no parking permit.
The home had plenty of room for two families. Bedrooms for up to 10 and additional sleeper sofas for up to 4. The location is great, across the street from thesea wall and beach (rocky but it fits the bill). Fred was very responsive. Wish I was still in Scituate.
Ken was great to work with! He even brought new fans because it was unseasonably hot during our visit. We were disappointed the house wasn’t water front, but a row back. It was a great location, just not water front. It had rained a lot the week prior so the large enclosed porch smelled of mildew and the carpet was soaked. That space was unusable. A number of outlets didn’t work. A few trips to the breaker box improved it, but didn’t fix all of them. The main house space was good, and we had a great trip. But there was some disappointment. Again, Ken was great. And I understand that houses from the 1920s have difficult upkeep.
Nice spaces, great second story deck/views.
We had a great time! Would definitely rent again!
We stayed with a group of friends and our little ones and the house was perfect. A great amount of space to get away when needed and sit down together either inside or out whenever we wanted. Steps to Sandhills beach and easy walk into the harbor. Ping pong table in the garage was a huge bonus! Only callout is with most coastal homes (and a few inches of rain in 24 hours) was some wet carpeting in the screened porch and a leak coming in the the upstairs hallway. Just needs a little updating, but a wonderful home. Would gladly stay again...sign us up for next summer.
Clean, spacious property with beautiful views and plenty of amenities. Fred was great and very responsive through the process.
Thanks, Fred, for suitable gathering spot for a family reunions with groups coming in from different corners of the states. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and other activities. It was a delightful visit.
