Stayed Jan 20, 2026Another great experience at the MTN Gate guest house. Renae and Vinny are the most accommodating hosts you could ask for. The house is spotless and well equipped. This was our 2nd stay here and we plan to return again in the future. Highly recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in the area.

The host was super friendly and helpful from the get-go, even suggesting a fantastic local restaurant that we absolutely loved.The house was spotless, everything was clean, especially the bathroom and kitchen, which were well-stocked and beautifully decorated. The furniture was top-notch, and the mattresses were super comfy — we slept like babies!The location was quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing, but we still had easy access to everything we needed. The fiber internet was lightning fast, which was a nice bonus.One of our favorite things was the covered carport — it was a lifesaver in the summer heat. While the sun was so hot, the hot tub was a bit too chilly for our taste, so we didn’t end up using it.Overall, it was a fantastic stay and we’d definitely come back!

Stayed Oct 15, 2024Delightful stay away from city life with the comforts of home, Property was clean and in tip top shape. The hosts were close at hand and helpful, but not intrusive. Easy access to I-5 (less than 2 miles) so access to shopping in Redding and the scenic areas around Shasta Lake make this a great location.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Stayed at the Mtn Gate house for a fishing tournament. Could not have asked for better hosts. Vinny and Renae are awesome! House was spotless and fully stocked from linens to kitchen utensils. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a place to stay in the greater Lake Shasta area.
