This house was excellent. It was clean and very cozy. The back deck was nice and private and the beds were comfortable. It felt secluded when we were in the back or on the deck. The atmosphere of the house felt relaxing and my wife and I had a nice time staying here.

The “Little Mountain Home” sign on the front entrance to this enchanting place hits the mark! Very well maintained, has all the amenities inside we needed for our week stay, including a comfortable patio deck on top with a small porch heater with blue tooth speaker. Also a fire pit on bottom ground that we enjoyed with the cooler weather. Host is very communicative and any question or concern I had was addressed and taken care of.

This is a summary of my last night. Owner never replied. Hello Carolyne, I am guessing that you are back from Japan and reacclimated to home. I hope that Ian sent along an overview of the evening of July 17th at the rental in Newland. As it played out, a harsh lightening storm knocked out power to the house around 5:30pm. I contacted Ian for help. He directed me to several places to look for the breaker box in case a breaker was flipped as no one on his team was available in the area. No luck in finding the box. So I spend the evening in the dark during an on/off storm (except for sitting in my car to charge the phone) with no way to prepare the food that I had purchased for dinner. I slept fitfully in a room with no air flow and packed to leave early the next morning, again in the dark. I had to throw away my food as the frig was already warm and also clean up the water on the floor from the melting ice in the frig's freezer. I realize that no one has control over such things, but I did spend a bit of money for a less than pleasant last night in the mountains. Thanks...Jennie

It's a cozy little cabin. We were close to Grandfather mountain & Lineville Falls for great hiking. The park was nearby which allowed our son to play basketball & our daughter to fish & play on the playground. Very clean & had everything we needed to make meals.
