Golf year round in the Rockfish River valley on our nationally ranked Stoney Creek Golf Course, and you'll discover why Conde Nast Traveler magazine selected Wintergreen as one of the Top 50 Golf Resorts in the World. Upon completion of this gem, the Open Doctor Rees Jones remarked, I think what Stoney Creek is to me, is one of the great settings in mountain golf. And why not Offering spectacular vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Monocan, Shamokin and Tuckahoe nines wind their way through the Rockfish Valley and combine to make this a contemporary design classic. With elevation changes, contoured greens and the occasional side hill lie, Jones brought the natural elements of the landscape into play: meandering streams, hardwood forests and pristine wetlands.

Lake Monocan is a 20-acre lake perfect for swimming and cooling off during the summer months. Guests can relax and play on the sandy beach area, pack a picnic to enjoy in the shaded picnic area. We had a great stay here! The space was nice and fit our party of 8 well. The host was amazing! He provided videos of how to use things around the house, he provided a welcome basket full of fun snacks for all of us, and he was always available for a quick question. We had a great weekend!

This property was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 3 children under 10. The property was very clean and in great condition. The owner was quick to respond to any questions. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall we enjoyed this house. We failed to realize that there was no AC when booking which wouldn’t have been an issue except we picked a very hot week. Plenty of fans definitely helped. We enjoyed 2 days at the community pool but weren’t able to access them until 2 pm but it worked out once we knew the rules. An excellent equipped kitchen. I bring my own knives but this had an excellent set. We liked the location as wasn’t far from many of the places and hikes we took advantage of! Host very responsive. Thank yo.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was clean and very comfortable. The owner, Jim, prepped a fire for us in the fire place prior to our arrival which we really appreciated. He was very responsive to texts and phone calls and provided detailed information regarding items in the house (thermostats, fireplace, outdoor grill, etc.) We really loved the amenities provided and would definitely stay hear again. Highly recommend!

Jim was a great communicator and the stay was really great and incredibly easy. The parking pass made it so fast to get a bunch of kids back and forth to the mountain. So so easy. The only negative was that the house is a little dated and could have been a bit cleaner. It felt like it was cleaned by the owner rather than by a professional. Nothing egregious be any means, and I would still recommend staying here in all honesty but just know that going in.

The house was exactly as described and setup with everything we needed for our getaway. It was so peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed to decompress. Convenient location for our needs. It would be beautiful when the leaves change in the fall.
