Pros: Spacious and offers lots of room to spread out. We especially enjoyed the big dining table that we could all fit around. The views from the house are beautiful! Cons: The dishes, pots/pans, utensils, etc. were very dirty and completely disorganized. We had to clean every item before using it. Some of the dishes and cups were cracked and broken. There were also cobwebs in the windows and the shower liners were filthy. The beds were worn-in and uncomfortable, particularly the twin beds upstairs and the queen bed in the basement. The trundle was non-existent so one of my family members had to sleep on the couch. I will say that I received two texts during my stay from what seemed to be the housekeeping staff regarding the cleanliness of the home and asking if I needed anything. But unless I was going to have them come organize the dishes/utensils and clean them (which would have been silly), there wasn't anything we considered significant enough to have them come out for. Tips: If it is snowing, be prepared for the driveway to be unshoveled/plowed. The rental company does contract out to a plow service, but they are only expected to plow there is 4 inches on the streets. There is a shovel at the house for clearing your own paths, and there was a very small amount of salt provided for the walkways (the container they provided was mostly empty). Something to consider for your older guests. My family did have a great time overall, but the house does need some love.
The house was great and easy to get to, even with a little snow on the roads. The hill next to the house was perfect for sledding. The pool (free entry included) was also nice for the kiddos. 10/10 would stay again.
The house and property were perfect. Short drive to Wisp and our grandsons(6 and 4) were able to snowboard/ski in side yard. Railey is the realtor and their customer service is awful. The previous tenants left 15 bags of garbage on porch by front door- I made 4 calls to Railey and nothing was ever done. The bags are still there. This is the second time we have had issues with their customer service and we are now reluctant to rent from them. Unfortunate because we would definitely return to this home next Christmas.
The property was lovely and great for our group. It was very close to Deep Creek Lake State Park (which has free entry!) making it the perfect spot to go for a fall hike. There’s no fence, but the dogs still had a great time. Everyone enjoyed the rental!
Very nice property! Great home location and lots of nice amenities. The master bed on 1st floor is not comfortable and the dock is in a high wake area that causes increased difficulty with docking.
This was a nice family get away - ages ranged from 64-2. Very nice!
Great location. Plenty of room. Beautiful view and lot size. Small issue with the basement bathroom that would promptly addressed. Boat slip was easily accessible and very convenient to the property. Can get rough at the dock on weekends with heavy boat traffic. Would highly recommend.
Truly enjoyed our stay at Morning Glory. Nice location, minutes from anything we needed or wanted to do. The house is awesome, however, less than impressed with cleanliness, mostly just with dog hair and yard. With that in mind, it is pet friendly, and being a dog owner, we could look past. Also could use some updates or TLC. But overall, we would, and probably will, rent Morning Glory again.
We were excited when we we able to rent this house on a short notice. Hurricane Dorian had forced us to change our plans to stay in Cape Hatteras for a week. Upon arrival in Morning Glory we noticed the entrance rug had pee stains visible, also the dark wood floors made the white doors hairs from a previous rental highly visible. Within 2 days we noticed both of our Shih Tsu could not stop scratching themselves. A closer examination showed they had fleas, which they never had at our house. After a $152 vet bill we were able to put the dogs on medication to keep the fleas manageable during the remainder of our stay. Then later in the week, we moved on of the chairs in the family room area around so we could see the tv better. Under the chair was trash from a previous occupant. This rental company did a very poor job in adequately cleaning the house prior to our arrival. On checkout I mentioned the flea infestation in the house and recommended they release a bug bomb in the house to kill the fleas. Don’t know if the realty company will follow thru with my recommendation.
