Enjoy a peaceful stay in upper Joshua Tree. Over 2 acres that include over 80 Joshua Trees and desert plants overlooking the village of Joshua Tree village. With a very open layout and large viewing area to enjoy the beauty in the high-desert. Moonshadow includes a vintage pinball machine, 8 foot pool table, chess, backgammon, books and an electric disco ball. Enjoy the Jacuzzi and hammocks after a long day of exploring all Joshua Tree National Park has to offer including hiking right outsideour home you can walk to the Nancy Karl Trail. You may glimpse the neighborhood bobcat that comes by along with coyotes, tortoise, roadrunners, rabbits, quail and other desert friends. The sunsets and sunrises can be spectacular and at the end of the day you can sit for hours watching the sky change into the magnificent stars above. The 3 bedrooms offer a pleasant mix of sleeping options with 2 XL- twin beds, full bed, and king bed. The property comes with essential amenities such as powerful Wifi, AC, fridge with ice maker, blu tooth speakers, smart t.v's, washer / dryer, bbq, pizza oven, fire pit and a variety of outdoor seating. The home is loaded with color and many great personal objects to look at and loads of art books to view and read. There are 2 tasteful nudes framed (incase that’s not your thing) we will consider kids but understand the house is not baby proofed for little ones and many objects aren’t child friendly.
There is so much to do in the area like the great outdoor Noah Purifoy Museum , Transmission sculpture by Daniel Popper, Jazz at the Z. Club in downtown JT, Food and drinks some with live music...Joshua Tree Saloon, Crossroads cafe good burger, vegan food and amazing grilled banana bread yummm. Sky High Pie fantastic Pizza, Country Kitchen yummy breakfast and a few delicious Vietnamese recipes of salad and noodles and a soup !!! Get some great bits and bobs of food and gourmet things at The Dez, pick up some great boutique wines at The Bottle Shop. There is a Farmers Market on Saturdays in JT from 9-1pm. The shopping you don't want to miss is The Station of incredible things just go take a look I don;t want to spoil it, The World Famous Crochet Museum, Art Queen, Joshua Tree Trading Post, The Beauty Bubble Saloon a must see for the whole family... other Favorites in Yucca are The Tiny Pony food and cocktails and a very competitive Karaoke Tuesdays , The Copper Room food, drinks and live music certain days and DJ's, This was a famous spot in 1957 when Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin would go to on the private plane air strip along with many greats of the 60's and 70's ( if these walls could talk ! ) It was refurbished and newly opened a few years ago Hands down a favorite to pick up food is the family run Yucca Kabob and Hookah the Mediterranean food is phenomenal and do not miss the frozen lemonade mint drink. Frontier cafe has great coffee , breakfast and lunch menu and the shopping in that area is great higher end home wares, furniture art at ACME 5, The End my fave vintage store, Mojave Flea a great makers and merchants curated store, and LUNA Bakery get here early and if your driving up through Morango to come to the house stop there first for their incredible selection of bread, pastries, sandwiches and coffee. If you go to Pioneer Town see the Pappy and Harriets world famous restaurant, bar and live music venue. Check their calendar you'll be surprised who might show up and the little western town has shops and reenactment cowboy shootouts on weekends sometimes. If you head East toward Twenty nine palm you must stop at Mas O Menos they have so much going on from early morning till late at night for me its the best Match in the high desert and they have great outdoor spaces as well and a full bar with unique wines, different pop food days as well. In 29 Palms my favorite restaurant id Kitchen in the desert it's beautiful and such a great vibe at sunset into the evening then stop at Out There Bar on your way back and shoot some pool...
And do not forget the amazing Joshua Tree National Park you can't go wrong there is a close entrance near our home or you can enter in 29 Palms as well...There is so much to see in the high desert and we often have guests tell us once at the house they didn't;'t want to leave at times.
Our place is available for both long or short stays.

The house lived up to all expectations. The vibe and ambiance was amazing and the location was a short drive to the downtown and park enterance.

We could not have been happier with our stay. The host is fantastic, the house is beautiful, and furnished with the coolest selection of music, games, and activities. I hope to stay here again!

This is just the coolest place ever! Such a warm and inviting home, filled with art and interesting activities. It’s the absolute opposite of the mostly empty vacation rental you’ve probably stayed in at some point. So much to look at, poetry to read, sunset to watch, hot tub to dip in. I have nothing negative to say, from top to bottom this experience was spectacular, and I highly recommend staying in his home!!

This property is everything it looks to be and more! My son and I came out to Joshua Tree for a little getaway and the house was definitely a highlight of the trip. From the pinball machine and the record player, to the jacuzzi and the atmosphere it was an amazing place to stay. Dana was a great host and I couldn’t have asked for better communication. We can’t wait to come back!!!
