Stayed Jul 3, 2025Our stay at moonrise ranch was underwhelming. We were very excited for our first visit to Joshua tree with our dogs to escape fireworks and were left disappointed. It started by walking in to the house and seeing a very dirty/stained couch, that we had to cover with towels during our stay. As we made our way around the house we noticed more and more things were damaged. Not only were things physically damaged but most of the lights switches in the house didn’t turn any lights on. We could never turn on any outdoor lights and only the light over the sink in the kitchen worked. As we ventured to the backyard we were met with a very dirty pool (which once we notified the host they had it cleaned), but unlike the pictures there is no filter attached to the pool. Also, the backdoor deadbolt was smashed like someone had tried to break in. There was also random confetti or balloon debris all over the ground in the backyard. Then in the bathroom the toilet paper holder was missing and the towel rack was barely hanging on the wall. Tall people be warned - the shower head is only suitable for people under 5’5. Now with all the physical damages aside, we were willing to finish our trip here, however, that all came crashing down when the AC stopped blowing cold air after our first night. It got so hot in the house that we had to leave during the day and it didn’t get better so we had to cut our trip short. This house could be great if it gets the proper maintenance it desperately needs.

Stayed Nov 13, 2024The dirt front yard was unkept and with dead plants. The house was not very clean. No curtain on the back of the house. The Amenities listed were not working. The record player was broken. They drained the little pool in the dirt back yard before our arrival so we weren't able to use the fire pit. The beds were comfortable and the location was ok.

Stayed Sep 9, 2024This home is unforgettable. It was decorated with wonderful retro furniture, clocks, pictures, appliances, and even a record player. It was so clean and welcoming. We had a little trouble locating it due to a Mapquest mishap, but our host called us immediately and guided us to one of the most memorable places we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I hope the owners know that they are creating life time memories for people from all over. Thank you.

Stayed Jul 13, 2024Right off of 29 Palms in Joshua Tree. Quick drive to everything you need and about 20minutes to the entrance of the National Park. Very nice place with 2 large bedrooms. Perfect for our hiking weekend and still close enough to the main road to enjoy the town and townies. Would easily stay here again.

Stayed May 17, 2024So many postives! Wonderful retro kitchen, well maintained with washer/dryer. Well stocked bathroom Comfortable beds Bonus closed in porch with yoga studio, books Oasis of a backyard with rare mature trees for the area, and a plunge pool - although the water was pretty chilly! Great hammock and fire pit WITH firewood and a clean newer grill that we utilized. Close to west entrance and the best coffee shop - JT Coffee. Communication with owner was courteous and responsive. Yep, I recommend!
