-This home is best for experienced winter guests.

-A 4WD is definitely needed in snow. Depending on weather, tire chains may be required to reach Truckee.

-Driveway is plowed each morning by 7 AM; light snow may require a little shoveling later.

-The hot tub isn’t available in winter since it’s in the backyard where the crew can’t plow.

-We don’t have a generator.

-If you need perfectly cleared snow all day or guaranteed electricity during rare power outages (Truckee has experienced one in the last five years), this home may not be the best fit for you.

RULES:

-No smoking inside the house.

-No parties.

- Quiet hours: 9pm-8am. No outside noise (no talking, no music, and no hot tub). All outside lights should be turned off during quiet hours as well. Our neighborhood is generally quiet and we respect each other with noises and lights. Neighbors will call the cops otherwise.

-No fires or BBQs outside. We don’t have a grill.

-No pets. My child has an allergy.

-Maximum adult guests 10. Children under 12 are not included in the head count. Placer County has a guest limit and we abide by the regulation.

-Minimum age to rent: 25

If you break any of the rules or if cops get called, you will be fined $1500 per Placer county rules.

HEAT/COLD:
We have heating/cooling in the whole house. But basement is always colder because hot air rises up. We provide several extra infrared heaters. Be aware that basement Queen bed, & 3 twin beds are colder than upstairs bedrooms.

A/C:
The house has a central air conditioning.

INTERNET:
We subscribed to the fastest internet package available in Truckee, but due to mountains, it won’t be as fast as Bay Area speed unfortunately. Netflix & Prime get affected with internet.

Cell service may vary by carrier—landline provided for your convenience.

ENTERTAINMENT:
For entertainment, we have a professional Tornado foosball table, a ping pong table in the garage, 65-inch TV equipped with Hulu, Netflix, Prime, and AppleTV, board games and puzzles.

KITCHEN:
The modern kitchen has a variety of appliances, including a blender, toaster, Instant Pot, rice cooker, coffee pot, and water heater. Fridge has water filter and we provide water filter pitchers.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY AMENITIES: Families with little ones will find comfort in our thoughtful provisions, including a Graco pack n’ play portable crib, booster seat, baby utensils, and games. Please note that our home isn't childproofed, and the hot tub isn't suitable for babies or young children. There are stairs in the house as well.

LAUNDRY: Washer/dryer available. If your cherished items require special attention, we recommend washing them at home due to the use of bleach by our cleaners.

OUTDOOR FURNITURE: We have minimal outdoor furniture, complemented by a well-equipped indoor entertainment setup. Designed for relaxed gatherings rather than parties.

BEAR AWARE: Use the bear-proof bin & don’t leave food in cars

SAFETY & PRIVACY: Carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers are placed on every floor.
RING cameras are present on the front entrance and driveway for safety.

    Lynn was an attentive host, and prepared the property well for renters to enjoy. All light switches and door lock are labeled to facilitate easy living. We had an amazing 16 night stay and shared the property with 3 different families with children. This quiet and private neighborhood is ideal for accessing the neighborhood trails to hike and bike with out needing to drive. Access to the garage was a major bonus allowing us to safely store our bikes inside. This well loved house may show some of its years, but makes up for it with amenities and completive pricing that allowed for our extended stay.

    Check-in was fine. The house was fine. There are no chairs or anywhere to sit outside and no BBQ or grill. The string lights hung in the backyard had no lightbulbs. So this is not a place to stay if you want to enjoy fresh air. The house was mostly clean (I had to thoroughly clean the coffee maker - it was an hot mess) and the space was large. The kitchen had pretty minimum stuff and very limited spices for cooking, which I’ve come to appreciate at many VRBOs. The host was polite, but we had a challenge with very short notice that the hot tub wasn’t actually working. She provided a discount to accommodate. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table.
