Accord, New York
We have 8 acres you can unwind, disconnect, and relax in. Our home is open, modern, and full of offline activities to help you escape for a weekend or a week. Enjoy a dinner grilled over the fire pit. Play board games by the fire or put together a puzzle while watching the snow fall when it's cold out. Explore the property as we work to transform our wild woods into fun hangouts. But don't forget to make time to explore this incredible town and region as well.
This private, modern house boasts a spacious, unique interior designed by Product Bureau. There is a full kitchen with a cappuccino and coffee machine and pretty much everything you need to make a delicious meal. In the back yard we have a large steel fire pit and a grill top to use to grill food. Our favorite is hanging out by the fireplace. There is a TV to stream on and plenty of books, games + puzzles to occupy your time offline. The house is located down a long private road with only one neighbor. It's best to arrive during daylight hours since it is so secluded. We have the a small pond with fish, fields, woods that we are slowly clearing out, and maple syrup from our property available for sale at Lyonsville Sugarhouse.
Starlink satellite internet coming July 2022
The whole house is available for your use, as well as the entire property. We have one closet upstairs blocked off for our personal items. The former garage off of the dining room is just a raw open space that you can access the rear patio by but is not really a usable space. The mechanical room is off of the powder room and is where you will find the breakers. Otherwise there is no reason to access that space.
A few important policy items:
We request that adult guests sign on to the reservation. The good news is we offer a 10% discount on the next visit so that’s good incentive!
Well behaved house trained dogs are welcome for a $150 non refundable fee. If you are bringing a dog please select that option when making your reservation.
The property is about a 1/2 mile back from the road, so it's nice and quiet. We have a large garage and another house on the road, and one neighbor, about 600 ft away. They are nice and help us with things like snow removal. They have a few dogs that run around their property so they ask that you drive slowly when passing their house.
There is a survey of the property hanging on the wall downstairs that will give you an idea of the property boundaries. The pond has an assortment of fish but we ask that you not remove them from the pond. Feel free to wander but please do not disturb the maple syrup lines on the hill. The property is pretty wild and overgrown right now, but we will be constantly upgrading the exterior spaces over the next couple of years so hope you keep coming back to see the changes.
Because it's in a very wooded area the power goes out from time to time. We have a back up generator that powers the well, heat / hot water, most things in the kitchen, bathrooms, living rooms, and the 1st two bedrooms. We have flash lights in each room and plugged in in the hall. The generator takes a couple of minutes to kick on and will turn off once power is restored and it cools down.
We had a lovely week in Accord with a mix of adult siblings, grandparents and grandchildren. The little ones had so much fun exploring the grounds (newts!) and adults enjoyed the secluded quiet. Quite a bit was closed around town during the week so we missed out on some of the restaurants we wanted to try out, but overall we were very impressed with the attractions and restaurants nearby. We absolutely recommend this home for anyone that wants a nature retreat with lots to do within ~20 mins.
Me and a group of friends stayed in Tana's house over a summer weekend. The house was immaculately clean and had great little details - nice sheets, comfortable mattresses, great bathroom products, just to name a few. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. The guide that was provided ahead of time was so nice, and contained all info we could have asked for. Great stay, would come back any time!
I rented the house as a special weekend for my Mom's 80th birthday. Perfect house! Plenty of space and privacy. We could not get enough of the record player and the album collection was fantastic. Set the tone for the entire weekend. We enjoyed hiking in the snow, and a great dinner at Innes.
We were very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and spacious the house was. It was very well renovated with great design sensibility, also very clean and organized. The huge outdoor area was great for walks and safe for our dog to navigate. Tana was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. It was the perfect place for our family getaway. We had a truly amazing stay and certainly hope that we can be back again!
