*** IMPORTANT: If you expect an upscale neighborhood, this may not be the right fit. While our home is upscale and we’ve never had issues, the neighborhood is gentrifying, featuring a mix of newly remodeled and older homes, some of which may be under construction. Occasional noise or encounters with homeless individuals may occur, similar to many downtown areas.

Our home is located at the intersection of the Historic Gardens and Denver Heights neighborhoods—two revitalizing areas in San Antonio. It offers convenient access to major attractions, restaurants, and shops, making the location ideal, though it may not suit everyone’s preferences.

*** We aim to be transparent and ask that guests respect this by leaving fair reviews. Our guests often love the area and return, and we hope those who book with us understand and appreciate the neighborhood for its character and charm. By booking, you acknowledge you’ve read this, are comfortable with the location, and have set appropriate expectations. Any concerns will be addressed in accordance with booking platform policies.

The house is indeed completely renovated and looks very nice and was quite clean and very well equipped. With that being said, it needs some maintenance. Towel rack, clothes rack in the master are pulled out of the sheet rock. Driveway gate is a bit of a mess. Front rock “garden” is pretty ugly. Back deck was pretty well trashed. Those are little things though. The area was actually a little better than anticipated. Definitely a work in progress. Host interaction was almost nonexistent. She answered a message only once before we checked in. After checking in we had some issues that needed addressing. The thermostat was locked on heat and we had no WiFi instructions. No response from the host. All in all, we like the house, but it’s not being maintained, and the business is being neglected.

It was an ok place to stay. The flooring was uneven, the gate was impossible to close at the front for the car. The gate to get into the house had these ledges sticking up that were also dangerous that I tripped on. Was in a very sketchy area and the street was extremely dark. This place definitely needs some work.

Women or young people should not stay here alone. The house was beautiful inside and out. Like the listing says, it’s an up and coming neighborhood meaning a nice houses around but several wandering homeless people. We were Approached by two beggars in the yard getting in the vehicle that were easily deterred. We just made sure to be smart and not go outside alone. Close to everything tho. We were woke up by 6 gun shots in the middle of the night a few roads over. The back yard connects to a bar/ store that looks very unsafe. The beds were hard enough for us to go to Walmart and buy our own mattress pads. Host never responded to request for padding since description says matress were plush and extremely comfortable. Curtains don’t cover entire wall of windows in master so the sun shines bright and early through the thin blinds. We draped a couple extra blankets over the windows for our stay so we could sleep a little later All 4 exterior doors had the barrier locks on the floor added for additional safety. We did want to leave as soon as we got there but decided to give it a chance. Overall once we worked around the problems we could solve ourselves, we just stayed gone most of the time and everything worked out for the most part. Decorations and Reno was on point though. Great job there for sure and it was very very clean.

We came with friends for a long weekend visiting San Antonio. The location was super convenient for getting into the River walk and all the places we wanted to go. If you are coming for an event at the Alamo Dome, this would be a great spot. Host's description of the neighborhood is correct - it is transitioning - but we felt safe. No homeless, no one cruising the streets, no drugs or gangs on the corner. Talked to the neighbors and they are super nice. Beds are comfortable but not luxurious. Expect a Marriott Courtyard not the Ritz and your expectations will be met.
