Like many mountain cabins, we do not have central air conditioning. WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE HIDEAWAY:

This place was beautiful and close to many things in the area. Both bedrooms were cozy, bathroom was clean and a great size, and the fireplace was great during the winter. We saw many deer close to the cabin which was a great surprise as well! Easy to get around to blowing rock, Appalachian ski mountain, grandfather mountain, and sugar mountain! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a getaway. Brandi was super helpful and responsive! - Jenny

The house was beautiful! Very clean, comfortable, cozy. We utilized the fire pit area every evening we were there. Felt secluded, but was close to shopping & dining. Would stay there again! - Tim

It was the perfect getaway for me and my wife. The hideaway was an ideal basecamp to explore the mountains and wonderful communities of Blowing Rock, Boone and Banner Elk. The foliage was spectacular, especially from the peaks of Grandfather mountain and Table Rock. Our favorite restaurant for fine dining was the Beat Cellar in Blowing Rock. We will definitely be back! ~ Joni

We stayed her for the weekend for my husband’s birthday. Cozy and clean. The shower has hard water but you just have to let it run for a minute or two. Very close to everything. We went into banner elk, Boone and over to Grandfather mountain. It was not cold enough to ski or snow tube while we were there but it’s close to the slopes. There’s a dollar general across the street if you need anything quick. Great place for a weekend getaway.

The stay was over all very great ! The only reason we give 4 stars (would give 4.5 if possible) is only because the mattress to the bed was very uncomfortable but manageable! We loved that the host provides games, which we enjoyed playing out on the patio and s’mores by the fire, which the host provided tools to make! The outdoor lights definitely add a touch of coziness and charm as well. The host is so kind, communicates well and even allowed us to check in a little early if it was possible to do so that day, we loved that! The area is not far from a small town, but does make you feel like you are in the middle of nature, very private and peaceful! Being within 30 minutes of blowing rock, grandfather Mountain, and downtown Boone is definitely a perk. We highly recommend the stick boy Café and bakery in Boone, as well as the mountain dog Café three minutes away from the stay itself (perks of it having a dog themed coffee menu named after dog breeds) we thought it was so precious! We loved our stay !

Overall a nice stay minus the AC, it was a 80 day and we sleep pretty cold at home... my husband and I didn't sleep well. Windows were able to open but the weather was not on our side this trip. Quiet area and close to many things. Nice get away for us overall. Thank you for the stay

My partner and I visited with my 5 year old. It was the perfect little house for the 3 of us. The house was nice and clean and everything was explained perfectly in the check in details. We really enjoyed sitting out by the fire pit roasting marshmallows. I definitely recommend staying! It’s very obvious that the owners love thier property.

My family and I (3 boys under 5 y/o) stayed here on our trip to get a Christmas tree from a local WNC tree farm. We had the best time. The boys absolutely fell in love with the Christmas decorations in the house, especially the tree. We would love to stay here again! You can tell the owner takes time and pays attention to what guests need/want. They had firewood available , and all the necessities you could think of. Thanks for a wonderful , memorable experience!!

We loved our stay. The round house was adorable and the location was perfect - convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis, Banner Elk…..and most importantly all the great hiking trails. The house was decorated beautifully and supplied with everything we needed. And it did not matter that the highs were in the 80s and we didn’t have air condition…the house stayed nice and cool with the windows open! The fire pit was an added bonus and a wonderful way to end our evening after a day of hiking. Our host was also great too! Thank you for a truly lovely weekend!

The Hideaway was the perfect place for a quick weekend away! As the name suggests, it’s tucked away on a hill in the woods. There are neighbors nearby but none close enough to disturb. Our girls LOVED the thoughtful decor and updates to the cabin. So much so that our oldest left begging us to live in a cabin “just like this one”! We loved relaxing by the fire pit after a long day of activities. The location was pure perfection! It’s centrally located to all of our favorite mountain activities: hiking, restaurants, breweries, wineries, the parkway, Tweetsie, Linville Falls, Foscoe, and Grandfather Mountain! Unfortunately, we ran out of time to squeeze in everything we planned. We are already checking our calendars to plan another trip!
