While the host was responsive, he was unwilling to discuss options when I asked about changing the weekend due to the winter storm that was set to hit the entire state the weekend of our stay. He tried to say that south Texas never gets freezing weather and when I explained that the larger concern would be getting home, he dismissed that in contradiction to the National Weather Service. Because this was a duck hunting trip for the men and because the host said we would only have the cleaning fee returned if we did not use the house that weekend, we used the home. Check in was very easy and the codes and passwords were given well in advance. However, the home was not clean or safe. There were some pest droppings in the kitchen (rodent or roach). The dishwasher did not work. One of the beds had a few dead bugs in it. Some of the towels are very worn and there was just enough for each person in our party to have one towel for the entire weekend. There were 2 spindles missing from the stair railing. There is water damage in the front living area ceiling and wall. The downstairs shower leaks water all over the floor every time it is used. There are no GFCI outlet less than 12 inches from the sink. The home does not have central climate control and when the nearly freezing temperatures hit we were directed to hunt for space heaters in closets. The space heaters upstairs caused the power to go out twice, the second time in the middle of the night.

The a.c. didnt work great. It was hot downstairs. Theres lots of places in the floors and stairs that are close to falling through. Walking on those stairs was scary. There was a lot of different spots throughout the house that, when you step, it feels like you're going to go through the floor. Theres definitely been some severe water damage to the house. But other than that, it was clean. Just a little uncomfortable with the downstairs beig so hot. I only walked up the stairs one time because i thought i was going to fall through in some places.

Spend a couple days here with my family and my parents celebrating my nephew’s high school graduation. Location was convenient and the neighborhood is peaceful. Plenty of room for everyone. My only complaint would be the queen size bed upstairs where my wife and I slept is rock hard but other than that it’s a great place to relax
