The hosts were so accommodating and made us feel welcome! Our kids and dog felt right at home - they have so many special little touches that make you feel like you’re not missing anything. We’ll definitely be back!

This property was close to events. Had lots of room and was well stocked with supplies. Was in the woods and private from neighbours.

Everything was fine and we appreciated the heat exchanger and the warm bedding. Thank you for letting us use the house in the winter!

Stayed here and used it as home base for day trips around the South Shore. Cute decor...so bright and cheerful. Didn't really use the kitchen (ate out), but seems well equipped. A very quiet spot - no traffic noise at all, so very relaxing and peaceful when we were here in the evenings. A little further than walking distance from Chester town (for older folks ) but very close to amenities and a very nice walking trail. Would book again. Thanks!!

Very nice and comfortable. We were able to watch Red Green Show reruns and relax. The only problem we had was that one day before our stay was to begin, vrbo claimed we had no upcoming stays booked. That was stressful. It was not the fault of the property owner.

The property was very quiet and surrounded by trees. It was a walkable distance to town, but sadly I couldn’t enjoy hiking the Chester Connection Trail not more than 500m away due to the fire bans. It was a great stay nevertheless. Thanks.

Very nice, lots of charm, nice welcome by cedar waxwing. We thought it would help if there were some printed instructions on site, e.g., for replacing water jug for drinking/cooking water, for heat exchanger, for what goes where in the green, blue, and gray bins. We would have appreciated an extra blanket in the bedroom for cool nights. The hosts were very responsive to questions.

We tried to reconcile our unfortunate stay with VRBO, but after seeing other negative reviews were removed, we felt obligated to leave a review. We booked a 3 night stay and left immediately after 1 night and found alternative arrangements. Two loads of laundry was damaged due to the iron purge - all expensive lululemon golf outfits. Similarly, the property was run down - moldy shower curtain, air fresheners everywhere (to mask the mold scent). Dirty laundry was left in the washing machine, dirty cleaning supplies (ie. bucket full of dirty water) left out. Dishwasher was listed (and shown in the picture) but was not hooked up nor operational. Pictures did not reflect current condition of the unit, nor were the the amenities listed operational.

I had a fantastic stay at this VRBO property! The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the quiet location made for a perfect retreat. What truly stood out was the quick and fair problem-solving from the hosts. When I encountered a minor issue, they responded immediately and resolved it efficiently. Their dedication to guest satisfaction is evident. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent support!

We had a wonderful stay in Chester at Mitch’s house during our visit for Chester Race week. The house was as described in the listing and provided ample room for our young family. There were however a few hick ups that prevented me from giving this a 5 star listing. The electronic lock on the door was not working upon checkin so we weren’t able to get in. I reached out to the number on the listing and then learned that their son was managing the property. I messaged but did not hear back right away. Finally we were able to be informed of the location of the spare key. One of the stove burners was not working. There was quite a bit of expired food in the cupboards and in the fridge. The water in Chester is traditionally high in iron. Despite following instructions in running the washer one cycle first, we ruined 3 shirts and a bathing suit in the washing machine. Mitch was great at communication throughout our stay and despite all the above the house did suit our needs. We would consider staying here again should the above be addressed. The house was well located and offer a large outdoor area for kids to play. E we say access to a walking trail nearby was also well appreciated. You’re only a 20 minute walk to the centre of town and very close to the spa.

This was a family vacation for a few days in NS. The cottage had ample space for our family of 5 - 3 teens, my wife and I. It is a quiet location, which I like for trips like this, I had some of the best sleeps ever. The town itself shuts down early, very early, so if you need things you are best to get them early. Would recommend venturing to near by Chester Basin for a meal at Seaside Shanty. Depending on what you want to do, you are a bit of a trek from Halifax so plan accordingly but you have a great coastal drive back if you take the Lighthouse route which will also take you pretty close to Peggy's Cove which is a great stop. The hosts were very responsive, no issues getting in or out of the cottage or finding things we needed. The only issue we had was with the VRBO app itself, which had nothing to do with the hosts. Would stay again!
